Computer Science Capstone Project - Spring 2024

Mizzou Engineering students think about how they can solve real-world problems before they step outside the classroom and into their careers.
It’s part of the Missouri Method, where students engage in learning by doing. That practice begins with hands-on opportunities in lab courses and undergraduate research and culminates with senior capstone classes. These classes allow students to apply what they have learned as undergraduates to develop solutions to the world’s problems.
After realizing that they all preferred different forms of exercise, a computer science capstone group decided to develop a workout application that could accommodate different muscle groups needed for different exercises and eliminated the need for a personal trainer. The group created an app that uses an artificial intelligence (AI) algorithm to dynamically recommend workouts based on the users preferences.
