As a furry with anxiety and autism/ADHD my fursuit actually helps me stay grounded at cons so I don't get as over stimulated! My head blocks some of my hearing which is nice for my sensitivity of loud noises!
I have autism too and my dino mask partial allows me to feel like Im allowed to be silly and have fun rather than wallflower and not participate at cons.
@@FinnThePantherI'm Asperger Autistic and was born in North Germany. I was bullying at School so hard, rather i was suicidal. Luckely i found the Vid's from Duke That Dancing Dog and visit a Therapy for 5 Years. I can't say, rather i would write this Comment, if i don't found into this wonderfull Fandom.
Ngl, making fursuits is kind of addictive. It's actually what got me over my severe claustrophobia. Did exposure therapy while wearing heads (kemono style to boot) for longer & longer periods of time. I'm not bothered anymore.
Commissioning is so so expensive and yeah even making a fursuit isnt cheap. I just finished my fullsuit and material cost alone was between 500-700$. It was worth it though, the process of creating her and then bringing her to life was a joy and a delight. I did need to get one of those expensive ice pack vests tho and even then it got uncomfortable after about 2-3 hours
Fursuiting brought me into the fandom more than anything else. Which is ironic, because I didn't care much about them when researching furries back in 2017 A couple years ago I met a fursuiter at a gaming event and felt this childlike glee ignite inside me and from then my opinion on furries changed forever. I created my sona soon after that and now I am happily the owner of my own frusuit and love performing in it, as much as anyone would love performing in suit People talk about how fun fursuiting is, but I think for me it goes deeper since they are my core motivation for why I do anything in the fandom, without them I don't know what I'd be doing, they are therapeutic and help me cope with the stresses of adulthood
You're kinda like me! I was a partial furry back in 2016, and i wanted a suit, but as a broke student and still a teenager at the time, i give up on it and casually watch furry youtube until early 2020 where i left the fandom temporary cause of Covid and focus on my own life. Fast forward to late 2022, my friend invited me to a furmeet for an animecon, and the moment i saw their fursuit, my interest spark again and now i am getting a fursuit very soon.
I made mine simply for the fun of inpersonating a giant alien robot dog. But in all seriousness, the confidence you gain when wearing something that completely hides your normie identiy allows me to do things I'm too scared to do normally, not to mention how fun it is to wear at conventions. The maintenance required is a pain, though. On top of the digi, the buttload of electronics in the head makes it nearly impossible to clean and maintain. The powerpack for the LEDs is just a sling, but most of the wiring is a part of the head. If I ever want to wash the head, I have no choice but to completely dissasemble the entire thing to wash the fur... Worth it for having one of the few full protogen suits out there though.
i wanted a fursuit for so bad for so long but when i finally got one 2nd hand (it's way about $600,guys. it wasn't even technically the right species but i couldn't just NOT buy it when they normally cost about $3--4000+!) and after having it for a while (as well as after my experience trying to be the easter bunny at the mall...yeah the thing was WAY lower caliber than a proper fursuit but it was ROUGH) i kind of decided that as much as i WANT a fursuit,it might just not be for me: the heat, the limited EVERYTHING,the feeling of having the head on...there are risks to wearing a fursuit and i'm really not sure how worth it they are for me. i'm at the point now where my fursuit's tail and MAYBE hand paws may have to be enough.
I'm a furry for half my life maybe, but I never even wanted a fursuit. Closest I got to this desire are these very realistic animal headpieces. Otherwise I never really wanted to own one. They look cool for sure, but never really desired to wear it. It wouldn't make me "realize myself" as a furry. I'm much more realized by using online avatars and I'm fine with where I am.
Can you make a video on how much fursonas cost im looking to save up 3k for a fullsuit and i want to know is that too much or too low (im currently 13 and looking to save up for like 3-4 years)
A full suit can go about 8000 or even more, depending any extras or changes you want in the normal offered design of the fursuit makers. You can look them up online and then check their prices. But your young age could be a problem when wanting to order a suit. Usually you must be 18 to be able to order and pay for it. Fursonas are free, since you create them yourself btw.

Good point!

Me too!
My head helps a lot with the noise as well but I don’t have autism I just don’t like loud noises 😂
