A friend of mine has fostered probably well over a hundred cats and maybe half as many dogs. She lives for animals and they all love her. It's one of many amazing qualities the best people have...total selflessness for animals.

I have a pit mix shelter rescue and she is a huge part of the family. Could not imagine her being adopted by anyone else. Bless you sir for showing the good in pitties and finding them loving homes.
This made me realize how important fosters are to animals. The good ones don’t just adopt dogs temporarily. They help them come out of their shell and overcome behavioral issues people would have returned them for. Bless this man. He is something else.
Yes exactly! Often the people in the position to adopt a dog aren't able to provide the environment that the dog needs in order to adjust to life outside the shelter or get accustomed to new situations. Like here, the final family for Banjo was perfect for him, but with 2 other dogs and multiple people around it wasn't a good environment for helping an anxious pittie adjust to stuff like stairs or walks or all the other little things not shown here that Banjo struggled with. Fostering (for any animal, humans included) is supposed to be about exactly what this man is doing - providing a safe, gentle and loving environment to help the foster-ee adjust to being in a family again before they move to a permanent family.

Wait! What? Dogs can have Autism? I've never heard this before. How does it get diagnosed, and how does your baby deal with the stimuli that can be so bad for humans with Autism. This is fascinating! A Few Minutes Later... I had to pause and go look this up. Although they also gave it the name, Canine Dysfunctional Behavior, it really IS like Autism in humans. And, it's pretty rare, according to what I read. Good on you and your vet for going the extra mile to find what was causing your dog's behavior! Knowing is half the battle. And, she's living her best life because of you!!

She was extremely skinny at first and her fur didn't shine. There is so much beauty in getting a shelter animal. It makes you remember why you took the animal in the first place.
