Enjoying the play through thus far which is always a good sign, especially is its just over three hours, that the game holds my attention. Looking forward to part four. Many thanks.

I'm really tempted, but price is holding me back. It is a matter will I play it enough to get my moneys worth. I have fields of fire, & hardly play it. War Fighter all the way for me.

It is true - the price is nothing to sneeze at. I spent over $200 for volumes one and two. So far, I have played four campaigns with volume two. That represents about 1,000 hours of play time. I probably have at least another hundred or two hours of play time with scenarios and making stuff for the system on my own. As far as I am concerned, I have gotten more than my money's worth. Just thought you might find that helpful.

I’m also tempted but still on the fence when it comes to the AI, its reactions seems not to take into account the enemy forces and the global combat situation, how do you feel about it after so many hours ? :)

@@InikoMonkoyaThat is a good question. The AI works surprisingly well. The main problems that I encounter are either, 1) the AI uses Evade to move out into the open and gets shot (the Duck Back system helps to moderate this) or 2) the enemy when bold tends to get "stuck" back in cover and only manages to dribble forward in uncoordinated attacks in Firefight engagements. I made an entire second AI deck that I call "Experienced". When used, these card take into account both whether the enemy unit is in the open or in cover AND whether or not they have LOS to a friendly soldier. I also use "Shoot and Scoot" - which is like Run and Gun, except that they fire on impulses 1 and 3 and move on impulses 2 and 4. The Experienced deck also favors flank movements. All these thing combine to make a much more aggressive and deadly opponent. Either way, I find the man-on-man narrative to be very compelling and addictive. I have a hard time getting this game off of my table to give other games some play time.

Of all the solo games I play this is the only one I prefer to play on VASSAL. The counter management in the VASSAL module is excellent. That does also mean I play it more often than some other games. Something to consider maybe.
