Excellent video. Enjoyable, not too fast, and so informative. My minor has not been out in dark for some years. So important check for me is brake lights.
My moggy had real trouble idling but after topping up the dash pot he now idles like an absolute champion, if I see you IRL i'll buy you a pint, thanks!
Very helpful video thanks! maybe at some point in the future, a video regarding how to adjust/replace the breaker points in these cars would be very helpful
Well done, brilliant filming, very well desscribed, easy to understand. Gives me confidence to service my Traveller. Keep posting more Morris videos. Great to see a young engineer being an enthusiast. Thankyou.
Very helpful video - thanks. It covers a lot of ground, and it would be helpful if you could post an index with approx timings so we could quickly find the part we need.
Hi I have just come across your servicing video, I have also got a Morris Minor van it's a 1962 it needs a lot o restoration work ding on it now, it's a 1962 I had it in 1964 , I started a welding business and had it sign written Chapman Autoweld Service its rusting away in the garage at the moment, it's on RUclips with a few more videos
Great video is there any chance your are going to be doing one on bleeding the brakes on your moggy in the near future thanks and keep up the great videos
cheers for the comment, glad you enjoed the video, yes at som epoint in the future im goin gto do a video on how to do all aspects of brakes, from complete fitting through to bleeding, Make sure you subscribe so you dont miss it! :)
Really informative videos! I’m new to working on cars but have a 1955 803cc Minor and will hopefully be carrying out my own minor works to it (servicing etc). I notice you’re videos are on a Morris Minor 1000, will the procedures be the same on the 1000 as the Minor?
Thanks for posting your interesting videos. If I may ask you a question, with regards to engine coolant. Do you use 'Bluecol' anti freeze? I have heard that OAT; Organic acid technology anti freeze is unsuitable for classic cars. May I also ask you, what is the ratio mix of anti freeze to water. Is it 50/50? Thanks.👍
ive used Halfords general anti freeze for many years and never had any issues, it comes pre mixed but i do add water to it to 50/50 ratio, i also usually change it at least once every 2 years, if it needs a top up i dont usually add water in winter, but in summer i will
@@kgcclassics3211 Many thanks, and keep your films going. We certainly need more instructional films like this. Basic vehicle checks are very important. All the best.👍
Hello, without going through it all it could be a number of things, such as too much choke, so the engine is flooded, the mix could be wrong on the carb, could be a poor spark, caused by coil, leads, points etc feel free to email me some details and i will try my best to help you out :) info@kgcengineering.co.uk
Way to much oil in the dashpot & 3in1 oil is better. Never use a piece of wood as shown as the cup on the trolly jack is shaped like that for a reason, using wood will likely see you car falling off the jack.
Your wrong about topping up the SU carb damper!!! thinest oil possible & only top up to within 1/2" of the actual piston-----should just be able to feel a slight resistance.
the best oil to put in the carbs is the recomended SU carb oil, however your standard engine oil will have no detrimental effect to the carbs or the engines running performance
Hi Michael, i am assuming you mean the front disc brakes? they are the Morris Marina kit available from ESM morris minor spares www.morrisminorspares.com/brakes-c42/front-brakes-c44/grumpy-disc-brake-kit-marina-based-p829453
Probably the best, simplest, vid on servicing, and explanation I've seen yet.
Cheers William :) I like to make it as easy and simple as possible

These videos are fantastic. Would love one on how to replace and adjust the brake cylinders!
will do when we get the chance to do it :)
Extremely informative. Thank you. I wouldn't drive with a faulty side light in case I was stopped! Also no brake light test!
Thank you. A service seems alittle less scary now.
Cheers Sally, glad its been usefull to you :)

KGC Engineering did you do the brake video ?
well done! Have you any video regarding how to fix the hand break cable?
cheers, in what way fix? do you mean to replace it?
excellent value. Many thanks.
Hi. Can you tell me whether you use grease or oil on the steering rack? Great video. X
it is supposed to be oil, used in the steering rack, a normal gear oil should be fine.
Nice one mate thanks
great video very informative
when taking drum off wear a painters mask because of dust from brakes and wear painters gloves dermatitis
you only need to fill the dashpot up to the level of the internal piston ram tube wow
what type of oil do you use in a 948cc morris motor
20W50

yes the procedures will generally be very similar, not much changed between the models ony the engine size and gear box type being the main changes

I have a morris minor it was not starting the engine runs slowly when starting

engine oil in the gearbox. in later cars. is that correct.
yes
Hi, did you check the spark plug gaps??
no not on this occastion, they only need to be done every 5-6k miles
@@kgcclassics3211 Oh, ok.. I would have done it anyway, having removed the plug! And it only takes a couple of seconds..
