This is like when rich people buy jewelry quarter million dollars for a chain really only actually 50 or $60,000 worth of gold and diamonds. 300k is so easy to do in these cars. The amount of labor that it takes to do this is insane. My Sledgehammer camaro was 250k build and I sold it for just over 100k. So the .50 cents on the dollar is accurate depending on the economy and buyer. Also a 300k car could be even higher as the builder cannot or does not charge for every single hour charged because it would be well over 300k. I know for a fact that my car would have been over 325k if he charged for every hr worked on. Builders sometimes will forgive many hours because it becomes so much that they can't do it. The clients are typically aware of this. This car was more than likely a 400k car when all was said and done. Beautiful build.
Nice to see and hear from someone who understands it from a client perspective. Blows my mind how few people understand the costs associated with builds of this nature.

After building my twin turbo nova over 3 years I can absolutely see how paying a builder for a car like this can easily cost $300k. You can drop $10k at a time on just parts and it feels like you got barely anywhere on completing the build. If I had to pay labor my car would have cost a lot more than the 80 grand I spent on it over the last few years. I have a video on my channel and that was an 80k “budget build”. 6pot 15 inch Carbon Ceramic Brembos in the front and rear? The brake balance must be terrible, not to mention dangerous. Guess just another easy way for the builder to charge the customer 7k extra. Ethically that is messed up period, compromising the customers safety for an extra buck
Sean, congrats on the channel, you are killing it. These are the cars that we, as motor head children, dreamed of seeing. Big power with a six speed is the ground work for awesome.
Hell yeah! If I may suggest another cool intro song would be by “Roy Ayers” “everybody loves the sunshine” I would love to see a classic car with a soothing classic intro! Nonetheless! Keep up the great content my guy!

Yes and we will do an episode on it. It’s set up properly. Not massive hp but suspension, brakes, etc. He already said we can do a shoot with it. Soon.
The problem with a lot of these builds is not understanding putting the $300k into it but how the builder used that money. What most cant understand is every single bolt has to be bought and it adds up quickly. On the other end at that price point builders have to build and not just bolt on parts and charge for it. Not everyone wants a Lambo and these are built to order and thats where the cost is.
Firstly Im no Fan of Jason from Timeless however that being said I have to say that everyone crying over the price of this Camaro are way of base as I can say that 300k is actually very reasonable "YES" reasonable!! If you just take one person working on a car of this level for 40 hrs a week for 52 weeks (Thats A year) thats just over two thousand hours (Which I dare say their are more hours in the build) and multiply that by say a very reasonable shop rate of say $85 you get $176,800 just in labor for one individual. Then you add in the combined dollar amount of the parts of an easy $120,000 its very easy for a build to get to 250-300k fast and in todays "REAL" world of car building that happens very very easily. I can honestly say that being a builder of some cars over the years myself and understanding the process, time and effort it takes that Timeless most probably just broke even on this car build, and would have made a few dollars but not as much as people think..............Running a large shop in California costs $$$$$ and the over head can be a killer for many business's and builders. If you cant afford to play don't hate the players hate the game Lol.......
Thanks for the explanation from a builder, not just an enthusiast like me. Sorry about the Jason part. What’s your shop name? Curious to see your builds.

People would be surprised how much metal work, fabrication and man hours actually cost in a build …. People who legitimately understand this … know the amount of labor goes into a full build …. But thanks for breaking it down !
Wow us$300k?? Sure can get up there, especially if others are commissioning the entire build. Helps when owners can get down n dirty & get involved in the build themselves eg: sourcing parts, some fab mods, final assembly etc..... Time n Labour ain't cheap. Cool camaro though 👌
Absolutely right. This type of build and builder caters to the people with the checkbook to afford it and the sense to know they can’t build it themselves.
Love the video new subscriber keep up the great work I got a 69 Chevelle looking to restore but can't get nowhere with it due to the cost just a struggling landscaper but my question is with the build depend on what area of the continental US you live in so you live in California things seem to be higher there versus here in Florida would be great to hear of the cost of some builds in other parts of the country again new subscriber you may have already had a few builds in other parts of the area just haven't got to them yet great job great videos keep it up bro
I really appreciate that these folks are willing to share the info price wise , please thank them from an equal fan of American Performance, Heck look at Singer Porsches / 600k to 1.8 M : why can't we build American super cars as well (?!)
On the street, 700hp is easy to drive if turbocharged due to the low bottom end hit via lower compression motor. Normally aspired 700hp+ is a real handful. My 900hp normally aspired 67 Elco is a real brain rattler.14:1 compression and 2.25 headers and 3800 stall tend to make a bit of noise...so I am told.
I never got on it because it’s turbo and didn’t know how hard it would come on and didn’t think it was appropriate given that it’s someone else’s car. And I’ve driven that hp in n/a cars and you’re right...handful of fun!
I had a 1970 Hemi Cuda with a fully built 13-1 motor and I drove it on the street. I lived way out in the country and it was a must to change the plugs, time the motor and synchronize the carbs every time I drove it, what a drag!
$300k..... mine is a deal. I’m finishing at about $175-180k and will have 800hp, two year warranty on the drive train and an independent rear suspension to help me deal with the crappy roads in the Bay Area. I don’t know who could give this video a thumbs down?
Here's your quick (kinda) explanation: The people who either build, or have these classics built, are doing it outta love. The owners typically aren't trying to make a buck, they're building what they want, and some builders are building what they love for shows and such to draw attention to their skills to bring in more customers. If I had the money, of course I'd source a 70 Z28 Camaro, a 62 409 Bel Air Bubble, and a 71 C10 CST "396bbc" truck, all with built engines, full chassis', sitting right, with all the right touches.... and even if I had the money, unless someone with the same money really, really liked my personal build and touches done(they would, nobody plans out like I do, just don't have the money lol), I'd lose tons of money, but, I wouldn't be putting all that cash and work in just to turn around and sell. Point being, people who can afford this stuff or have done the work themselves, build them because they love them, and the investment usually is the last thing on their mind.... until it's done lol.
I will never devalue a mans skilled labor and hard work, but something has to be said for general concept. So much money in this car. It could have been made much better with a different formula, especially for its use. A sub frame car modded to house a full frame where the less expensive route of putting better sub frames would the logical choice. What ever possible weight saving were lost with the cage put in. Safety is important, but God forbid you get hit in that thing without wearing a helmet you will have a instant concussion when u bounce your head off the cage you could probably be seriously hurt if you hit a dip in the road. It’s totally the wrong type of cage for the street. A 4/5 point cage at the most for a street car a 6 point or above you are asking for trouble. If it was a dedicated track car then it’s a different story. Plus Most likely the car is heavier so u needed the carbon brakes. At this expensive price tag custom carbon wheels should have been in there also. Considering the car doesn’t get driven hard ever quite obviously. It’s over built and over budget for its purpose. And only 700 hp on a built lsx come on.
Most people who will spend $300k on a build have a business and if they are smart will use the car in that business as a promotion piece for tax purposes. The reason they sell for .50 on the dollar is because of taste, maybe the market with $300k doesn’t like everything done to the car, like the stick holding up the hood🙄. Plus for $300k you would just build your own to your taste and cycle repeats. Now, if a famous person like Leno were to have built the car and drove it then it would have a much better chance of holding value.
great show Shawn, really nice car! I think it’s just that if you don’t ‘wrench’ or are somehow involved with cars, a person has no idea of the cost. I’m just glad the industry is finally demanding value for talented work and product.
Lambos, Ferrari, Porsche, McLaren ect...When they make one off cars they cost millions!!! I like resto mods because someone designed it either in their head on paper or whatever, but they built it. Not just wished they owned it. Like everything, no 2 people have the same taste. There's a few things I would personally change on Mike cars to make them my dream car, but that's what restos offers. Your own personal dream car and no ones dream car is cheap!
People that understand don’t need an explanation; people that need an explanation won’t understand.

It take a lot of money to build a car like that. Trust us!
@@WolfpackRides Exactly and when anf if he wants to sell he would lose easy 150k the classic car market had appreciated 15 to 18 percent for the past 15 yrs now in the past 2 they have appreciated 3 percent ....
Agreed. Why not buy a 2017 ZL1 for $60K, one 5th of the price of this $300K waste. I mean, yes it's nice and all but not $300K nice or 6 ZL1s for the price of one nice.
All I would buy is the custom chassis for 12k and I would pay some one for body work. I could do all the nut and bolt stuff
Love your videos Sean, amazing! You really make me want to buy another foxbody mustang. I really miss having a muscle car after watching this video. I miss the sound and excitement it gives having a muscle car. Keep doing what you are doing brother. I am truly a huge fan.
Thanks! I appreciate the compliments on it all. And yeah, for me there’s nothing like a well done muscle car. They hit my passion button hard!
I like this Maro out of all the Maro's you've covered! It was close though! To the LSX 427
Thanks for sharing. A beautiful/badass Camaro for sure! But let your buddy Mike know his center light on left taillight is out while braking. I'm OCD
You are worse than my brother OCD! 😂
Nice cars Mike we need guy's like you both cars
He has a few killers
this might be my fave 69 I've seen in here, its just purpose built, not frilly, just right
A piece of art ... love to own one lucky man
Agreed and I’d love to own this one.
The sound of that car is worth the 300k alone!! Thank you for sharing 💪 ✌️ 🍻
You're welcome and I agree!! And I never really got deep into the accelerator and it still sounded great. Would love to hear it up over 5,000 or 6,000 rpm's!!
Haha good sound but no lol.A stainless catback is about 1.5 grand without labour. Smart engineering can make most v8s sound at least just as good.
Finally some1 makes a video with car tht has decent music in the background..not tht bs techno crap
Thanks. And the car doesn’t suck either! Woohoo!!
that camaro is pretty sick. love it
It’s such a cool build. Looks great and works as good.
Smooth intro brother! Subscribed!
Thanks! And now that we have a much better editor I think the content has gotten better. Lots of cool cars to come for sure.
Hell yeah! If I may suggest another cool intro song would be by “Roy Ayers” “everybody loves the sunshine” I would love to see a classic car with a soothing classic intro! Nonetheless! Keep up the great content my guy!
Please get more videos together, your one of the best I have seen very watchable and very interesting. A car channel should have the attention to detail as yours does!!!
👍
I'm envious as I'm in rainy Northern Ireland 🇬🇧 🇬🇧 🇬🇧 👍 💪
Thanks Jonathan!! I appreciate the feedback and support of the channel. We're just getting started and I promise I'll be showing a lot more amazing vehicles. And we are so lucky here in Southern California to have the roads and the weather. Great driving most days of the year.
I am loving your videos, I live a few blocks from the owner of this Camaro. I'd love to see it in person and the other car. I'm sick of all the italian sports cars, love these resto mods.
Mike has some cool cars. His Timeless Kustoms ‘66 Chevelle is badass too!
AutotopiaLA
Do either of you ever go to cars and coffee in Westlake?
The best so far .nice job great narration super beautiful car Sounds like a million bucks. I have a 66 Impala Super Sport than working on for 10 years looks picture. Perfect. 383 stroker but I probably have 30 grand into mine. And everything brand new out of the box, but nothing to compare to this. I'm roughly 4:25 to 450 horsepower. Keep dreaming.
Keep going on it. Sounds like a good one
Who cares what people say about costs this 69' is the the most beautiful one I've ever seen
Hello wouldn't know what your on about here in the UK but interesting to know and learn plus watch. Also love your videos of all the cars that you cover from around the world but your brother's 991 GT3 RS by BBI is very good.
Awesome!! Is that a C5 Z06 in that garage too? Love to see an episode on that car too!!
Yes and we will do an episode on it. It’s set up properly. Not massive hp but suspension, brakes, etc. He already said we can do a shoot with it. Soon.
AutotopiaLA Cant wait to see it!! Mines pretty much stock but its so much fun.
SWEET FLIP!!! On Average White Bsnd's "Love of Your Own"!!! Nicely SAMPLED/REARRANGED!!!
geeeeeeez!!! this is a awesome channel, i'm so glad i randomly came across this channel, one episode and i instantly subscribed
Thanks for the sub and for finding us! Glad you like what we're doing. Lot's more to come I promise.
You get it and I love hearing that!! A well done build with fab work isn’t cheap
Absolutely BA. Worth every penny.
I really like your videos!! This is the 3rd video I've watched from your channel, so I decided to subscribe. Also what camera do you use? You vidz are Ultra HD quality!
Thanks! Paul handles all the shooting. It’s a Sony but can’t remember the model. Sorry. It shoots great and having a couple of nice lenses helps.
9:30 when a random new Camaro passes you from the opposite direction.
Corvette actually
I build my own twin turbo in my Corvette 1995 I do the all work myself. I have still that car in my garage and more cars Challenger70 Camaro68.Chrysler 57a.Love cars..
I wonder what the top speed would be in the 2.7 mile run?
Good question. Really good
While high dollar pro builds are impressive, home built "raw" cars are so much more interesting to me. I love all your videos, you have such great taste in which cars to feature. Keep up the good work!
Just wait this car is undergoing a major transformation!
Nice car . Have you had time to take your car to the track or 1/4 mile ?
Never taken this to the track. It’s not mine. Would love to see how it would do
Great vid! What canyon road was that, it looks familiar?
Decker to Mulholland area.
One of my dreams it to drive a late model Porsche or other sports car in the canyons in Malibu or around certain areas in California.
Please do a feature on that wide body V wagon!
We’re going to soon I promise!!
Bought a 289 fast back for 26k Not sure if I should start upgrades or leave it alone.
People would be surprised how much metal work, fabrication and man hours actually cost in a build …. People who legitimately understand this … know the amount of labor goes into a full build …. But thanks for breaking it down !
What kind of oil does he run in that bad ass Camaro?
Don’t know. Let me check and see for you
omg I like this better than the Mercedes gold one! Dang! I'm in Love with 69 Camaros!
Incredible execution of performance and style 👏
Wow us$300k?? Sure can get up there, especially if others are commissioning the entire build.
Helps when owners can get down n dirty & get involved in the build themselves eg: sourcing parts, some fab mods, final assembly etc.....
Time n Labour ain't cheap. Cool camaro though 👌
Absolutely right. This type of build and builder caters to the people with the checkbook to afford it and the sense to know they can’t build it themselves.
What's the power of the torque in this car?
Should’ve been in the video. Can’t remember to be honest with you. I think it’s around 700 hp but could easily dial up the boost and get a lot more.
That area looks very familiar. Is that San Jose Ca?
No. Santa Monica mountains. Mulholland far north
Parts are parts but I’d guess labor rates change dramatically depending on where you have the build done.
Worth every penny !
I really appreciate that these folks are willing to share the info price wise , please thank them from an equal fan of American Performance,
Heck look at Singer Porsches / 600k to 1.8 M : why can't we build American super cars as well (?!)
Such a beautiful car!
Fabulous
Brakes are Wilwood...
$300k..... mine is a deal. I’m finishing at about $175-180k and will have 800hp, two year warranty on the drive train and an independent rear suspension to help me deal with the crappy roads in the Bay Area. I don’t know who could give this video a thumbs down?
There’s always haters out there. Would love to see yours when it’s done.
AutotopiaLA true. You and me both! March will be 2 years since it started. Just about to go to paint, then interior, then I get back.
Just discovered this channel through a car review of vicious! Lovin the channel so much, it should be called the bad ass car channel 😂
Thanks Liam!! We're still new at it so it still feels like we're just getting started. So many great cars to show you guys. I appreciate the support.
Here's your quick (kinda) explanation:
The people who either build, or have these classics built, are doing it outta love.
They detuned it. Could easily get more but do you need more for street driving?
I'd rather build a house gor 300 to 350k and resell it for 500k plus
But you're poor and that's why you'd build a house.
you talk about safety this and that but want thousand horse in a car without tc ?
@@kanervatie yeah right why build amachine that will devalue 100k easily
with killer quality like that, the expenses are quite reasonable at that point.
Agreed. Parts and labor although some folks refuse to understand this concept.
woweeee! And, he let you take it on the road. You one lucky friend. Woweeeeeeee!!
I know! I’m lucky to drive so many wonderful cars doing what we do
Does it have a cupholder?
Yep...when you have a passenger 😂
How wide are those wheels and tires?
Tires are 345 rear. Don’t know wheel size though
LSX is my dream engine
wow this guy has some amazing cars
He really does. We’re gonna shoot his C5 soon.
we can all agree its cool to have rich friends that are chill..
It is and my “rich” friends have all worked their butts off and continue to. And I’m grateful to have cool friends like the owner of this badass!
I know its cool to have them though...you are doing very well as well
Have we met? You seem to know a lot about me?
Most people who will spend $300k on a build have a business and if they are smart will use the car in that business as a promotion piece for tax purposes. The reason they sell for .50 on the dollar is because of taste, maybe the market with $300k doesn’t like everything done to the car, like the stick holding up the hood🙄. Plus for $300k you would just build your own to your taste and cycle repeats. Now, if a famous person like Leno were to have built the car and drove it then it would have a much better chance of holding value.
Totally agree with everything you said
great show Shawn, really nice car! I think it’s just that if you don’t ‘wrench’ or are somehow involved with cars, a person has no idea of the cost. I’m just glad the industry is finally demanding value for talented work and product.
In my opinion the 1st gen camaro is the best looking car ever made next to the Porsche 911 (basically any year)
Great comment. And I’m a hardcore Porsche guy and completely agree with 911
Lambos, Ferrari, Porsche, McLaren ect...When they make one off cars they cost millions!!!
You got it. Love this comment!!
Guys, no different than going out and spending $225K on a new TT Porsche 911 - it will be worth $125K two years later. Worse yet, look at boats !
Exactly. Investment cars are often times different than passion buy cars or boats, motorcycles...you get it
A Truly incredible Machine. Well Done to the Owner, and the Shop
Love this car!
Me too and it recently went through a massive overhaul
