Mepps Hot Firetiger Painting Process

  • Here's a look at behind the scenes of how the Mepps Hot Firetiger blade is painted. Mepps uses a 7 step process to paint the hot firetiger pattern:
    Step 1: Etch - to prepare blade for paint
    Step 2: White - to get colors to fluoresce
    Step 3: Chartreuse
    Step 4: Green
    Step 5: Orange
    Step 6: Clear Coat
    Step 7: Pad Print - this lays the "Mepps" logo on the blade

    If it wasn't for my white, and silver XD's, size 1, I don't think I would of caught very many fish yesterday. That was all they where biting. Thanks Mepps y'all keep up the great work!
