I'll take 30 knots over 3 knots any day. For over two years I have been wondering WHEN you would finally come to your senses. Congrats. You finally did.😷
Rick, I've been following you since 2011, when my sister bought me my very first computer! Where does the time go?! It's always so great to see your beautiful faces. I really mean it! Rick please take care of yourself and get well soon! really don't want to lose you! 😰 💔🙏🫂 Also, I'm so sorry for Rufino's loss. Rest in peace, Rufino 🙏🕊️✌️ Maddie and Rick, I've always loved your videos and I love you! 🫂 🎉❤
Yes vote on bringing back the intro and that life is always changing 😊❤👍🙏 for everyone especially the family and friends of Rufino may God bless and wrap them tightly in his arms and love
It does my mind and my heart good to see your smiling faces and that beautiful water while I'm surrounded by the cold and snow here in Alberta. I know you remember the struggle Captain 😂
Great to see the return of the classic SL intro. And the return of a sensible shore shuttle. Merry Christmas and a happy (and especially) healthy New Year to all.
Oh…brother…it’s a b i t c h getting old…ask me how I know 😂 Good to see you and the family are doing well. Congrats on a righteous new dinghy. 😎👍🇺🇸🇺🇸 Sorry for the loss of your friend…RIP
Luckily YOU got help B4 you succumbed to the strain on your heart. Great looking new dingy and motor. I always wondered how long it would take to give up on the electric job. Stay safe and well.
Take care of yourself. Your family needs you. I’m 80+ still single handed won’t have it any other way! You need to learn to pace yourself. Your gastrointestinal stuff will set off bad heart days when you overexert. Life has changed for you as it does for all of us. You can’t bull your way through, plan ahead for what may go wrong and act accordingly. Live for another day dear friend.
Wow so glad to see you survived your latest “hiccup”. Life is never dull with you guys. 😂 Definitely made the right choice with the dinghy. It was always concerning that if you ever got into a solo serious situation with SL that the electric dinghy wouldn’t be able to get you out. Have you guys any special plans for Christmas?
Yes, and the one time that really sank in was that time we had to take Ricci to the hospital when he stopped breathing... and I felt slower than a turtle trying to get there as fast as possible.. don't want to feel like that again...
Great video my friend! Happy to see your new dinghy with a proper engine🍺 Now I can't make fun of your electric joke of an outboard anymore. Man I'm impressed you kept it for so long, after all our dinghies are our "car" for anything from shopping to adventures. Now I envy your dinghy! Fair winds and see you in the Caribbean again in a year or so
That episode scrapbook type intro is the most beautiful one you created. It might need to be updated down the road but, yes, I love watching it and listening to it! Yes, don't leave out that catchy and appropriate sound track either. Love seeing you having more fun moments at the beach. The new Highfield is awesome! Maddy, you are even more gorgeous and healthy now. How do you do it? Ricci (Ricardo?) is so entertaining. Such a beautiful child.
Glad your racing heart was temporary! Did they give you a reason other than the brush off ‘it’s hot and you are dehydrated’?My boat is a target for overhead flying birds. How do you ensure the rain water isn’t just washing bird poo and dirt into your water tanks? Moisture in clouds condense on dust particle? How often do you clean your tanks and what water filter do you use? Thanks.
Good segment..like the "new" old intro., happy for that. Like the new dink and gas power. Much as you try to anticipate things, change always brings about ingenuity on your part, as in fixing the davits. The brief aside on your health/ticker is worry-some, but I guess you know what you're doing and I'm too old to try and tell you otherwise. Best wishes to all and Merry Christmas.
Love the old into song and video. I figured you would decide to go back to gas. It's just not feasible for electric power with a family. Hello from SW Florida and hello to Maddie and Ricky.
We are glad to still have you with us as well. What is the length of the new dingy? You may want to pad the two or three points where it touches the poles to prevent wear.
I heard it said that one thimble full of gasoline has the equivalent potential energy as 100 cart-horses, or something like that. It's a magical resource which we are never going to give up until we have extracted the last drop of oil from the planet (when there will be a huge and devastating war to own that last drop). Electric vehicles have their use, but mainly on the golf course and for delivering mail.
Excellent video and great decision! -- QUESTION -- Capt Rick, love what you have done and the life. Advice for a 30 year old considering starting out, what sailboat would you get today, with long term live aboard in mind and considering all the tweaks and changes that you made over time. Would it be larger, like a 55 footer? Thomas's sailboat is 55 feet but has that dinghy garage.. is that just a wast of space or, if you were going larger, would you not get a dinghy garage?? Assuming you don't spend a million on a new boat, which make and model would you look for and what size? Keep up the great videos!
hello from snowy ontario My condolences on the loss of Runfino. True friends are a blessing. I can’t wait for the new dingy review that we all know is coming, BUT i was amazed to see 60 ponies!! lol It was also nice to see the iconic intro back! You’ve had a tough go with your health sir, none of us are getting any younger! i do have a question- with advances in foam core and composites, why go for an RIB? i can’t help but think strength and size would be larger with a composite dingy while weight would be similar?
Take it easy Rick, don't let all that hard work jeopardize your health. Nice dingy. Sorry about your friend RIP. What are you going to do with the other dingy? Sell it I'm sure.
Hi Rick, I have bad news & good news. Your new dinghy is not enviro friendly. But I have a plug-in hybrid dinghy powertrain solution. Electric/gas or propane: so electro motor & lithium batts will come in under 100kg. Top speed 100kph. Range 200km.
What happened to the electric dinghy? You sold it locally? I think it is the best decision to return to gas. Some applications are not made for electric. Maybe one day when the energy concentration will be much higher.
Someone who worked under me (who had temper problems) came into my office and leaned over a desk. He was beat red ...... fast beath ..... and he said "take me to the hospital!" I did. His heart was racing also. He never divulged what was wrong with him???? Not sure what happened to him long term..
Your heart was racing but was there arrhythmia as well? Did they call it ventricular tachycardia? I've had this before, had to take some arrhythmia pills until I could have cardiac ablation procedure. Make sure you stay hydrated, but not just with water,, your body needs salt, magnesium, potassium and calcium to keep your electrolytes in check.
60 horsepower for that dinghy is overkill, you will continue to have problems with breaching the davits and or transom support due to the weight of that engine. Then unless you got a freebie, the marketed price point for that engine is $6,500-$9,500.🤷 Life’s good
What did you do captain?!??! A few years ago you said that you would never go back to gasoline engines!!! It was enough to offer you a few pennies so that you no longer have any credibility! You said that you are here to give your honest opinion about different products....the gasoline engines is the same as it was a few years ago. Sei spazzatura umana!! Your wife can translate for you. Don't tell me you're going to cross the Pacific!???:))
Your so blessed to have Matty, she has a loving caring heart for you. That kind of woman is rare these days ❤
So sorry for your loss. He will remain with you, as long as you remember him.
Thank you!
Take care of that ticker we need you around for a long time Rickster
Thanks sir, I hope to be! :)
@@SailingSophisticatedLady No Boosters my friend .

I feel your pain mate!
The best video intro on RUclips! - Love It!
So sad the loss of your friend. 🙏
😀😀😀👍👍👍❤❤❤ Wow 60 HP and 30 knots! You will really be able to do some exploring and provisioning!
Was wondering about you all and there you are
Yep, right where you left us! Lol
Look forward to your next video and an update on how Capt. Rick is feeling
Great upgrade!!!! Enjoy⛵🎉⛵
Great to see the return of the classic SL intro. And the return of a sensible shore shuttle. Merry Christmas and a happy (and especially) healthy New Year to all.
I hope the dinosaur enjoyed the dreads. 🦖
Having a go fast dinghy.
Zoom, zoom 👏
Yep, they're all gone! Lol
Sand the rust back, tape it off at the ends and paint it Rick. Then it would look nice. You could match it blue like the hull
Great timing my friends
And you're fast.. thanks for first comment! :)
Hey Rick lovely to see are back good work stay well love to all .
Thank you kindly!
Chow. Thanks for sharing. 😊
Thanks for watching! :)
Nice little hot rod you have there! Take care of yourself, Maddie and Richie need you to be around for a long time.
Oh…brother…it’s a b i t c h getting old…ask me how I know 😂 Good to see you and the family are doing well. Congrats on a righteous new dinghy. 😎👍🇺🇸🇺🇸

Yes, getting old SUCKS! Lol
Luckily YOU got help B4 you succumbed to the strain on your heart. Great looking new dingy and motor. I always wondered how long it would take to give up on the electric job. Stay safe and well.
Rick take care buddy!👍
I hope you're feeling better! Congratulations on your new dinghy, he looks beautiful!
Thanks, I am! :)
So glad to see you go back to a gas engine . I know it sucks keeping that extra jug of gas on board. But dang you got power now. Cheers guys 🍻🍻
Take care of yourself. Your family needs you. I’m 80+ still single handed won’t have it any other way! You need to learn to pace yourself. Thanks for the kind words, I’m taking your advice to heart, literally! 😁
We love your family's vibe
Thanks for bringing back the old intro , I love that song❤
Alwayed ❤ your intro
I'm praying for your health. You are a very important person.
nice dingy Rick ! glad your feeling better! Cam
Captain Rick, the epitome of efficiency and innovation.
I was waiting to hear this story. Thanks for bringing us up to date, Captain. Voice is sounding STRONG!

The quality of your videos constantly increase. My compliments on a wonderful and lasting channel :-)
Best intro on you tube 👍👍
Looking good captain Rick

Nice dingy!!
Glade your voice is getting better !!
Great video my friend! Happy to see your new dinghy with a proper engine🍺

YOU ROCK UNCLE RICK.
Enjoy the new boat. Fast little ribs are fun!

Super glad you got a fast Dinghy 30 + knots = Amazing and congrats on that.........Thank you Cap Matty and Ricci......
Old F-4 pilot Shoe🇺🇸
Good decision, Cheers
Sorry to hear about the loss of your Friend
Yes, sad news.. and thank you!
Ventricular tachycardia usually means an ICD (pacemaker plus defibrillator). See a cardiologist.
I love that Ricky is going to be trilingual or more . What a great education .
Welcome Back to the Dark Side..... 🤣🤙👍
That’s a lot of dinghy hanging there , hope that works out .
Welcome to the real world . Electric technology just is not ready for the masses .
No dreads. No electric motors.
No problems.
I heard it said that one thimble full of gasoline has the equivalent potential energy as 100 cart-horses, or something like that. It's a magical resource which we are never going to give up until we have extracted the last drop of oil from the planet (when there will be a huge and devastating war to own that last drop). Rick, I know you are Canadian, but it would have been nice if you had purchased a Merc?
I am so happy to have you back . I was concerned about your health Rick . Your voice still sounds a bit strained .
Thank gawd you got a real engine….lol……I don’t understand electric propulsion on tenders…..or on the majority of boats.
Excellent video and great decision! -- QUESTION -- Capt Rick, love what you have done and the life. You join the fast dingy club of Zatara 8-)
Yes your intro is YOU….
Even if you change it.
Don’t…….please lol🤠
So glad you like it, thanks! :)
😎
Hi gang
What that dingy with the motor weight
Cheers 🍻
that's a racing dingy right ?? lol"
she fly's for sure.
hello from snowy ontario
My condolences on the loss of Runfino. True friends are a blessing.
I can’t wait for the new dingy review that we all know is coming, BUT i was amazed to see 60 ponies!! lol

i do have a question- with advances in foam core and composites, why go for an RIB? i can’t help but think strength and size would be larger with a composite dingy while weight would be similar?
What happened to the hifandangle electric dingy motor????
Collecting water from the canopy is good if there is no bird droppings on the canopy. Be careful with that….
Electric dinghy??? .... ha ha... we told you so !!!! lol Welcome back to common sense gasoline Rick !!!!!
It took a little longer than expected, Lol
Take it easy Rick, don't let all that hard work jeopardize your health. Nice dingy. Sorry about your friend RIP. What are you going to do with the other dingy? Sell it I'm sure.

I'm wondering if you have any video footage of when you took a face plant when you went ridding with Sailing With Thomas on the electric bikes.
So glad you finally woke up. The green new deal is a total scam. Maye in the future but the tech is not there yet.
Very good choice. Electric is cool and innovative, but…I’d take speed and range over anything.
Hey Capt Rick, was that heart issue called "Supra ventricular Tachycardia?"( SVT)?
What are you going to do when the water from boat wakes wash over it..
What happened to the electric dinghy? You sold it locally? I think it is the best decision to return to gas. Some applications are not made for electric. Maybe one day when the energy concentration will be much higher.
You are correct on many levels! ;)
Is that a Highfield 390 Sport or a 420 sport...
Which model Highfield is it? How did you decide on dinghy size and HP? Any Suzuki is a good choice.
Afib ? Or Flutter ?
Or Ventricular tachycardia.
Someone who worked under me (who had temper problems) came into my office and leaned over a desk. He was beat red ...... fast beath ..... and he said "take me to the hospital!" I did. His heart was racing also. He never divulged what was wrong with him???? Not sure what happened to him long term..
Glad you lost the dreads!
RIP
Rick I’ve been out of touch for a while. What happened to the electric motor for the dingy?
OMG if I would have waited 2 more minutes I would have seen the engine. Thank you.
I see the outboard so no longer solar/electric.. Youi may need to have a cardio exam
Does Richie still call fish pishs ?
He is always asking to go see or catch the fish! :)
Your heart was racing but was there arrhythmia as well? Did they call it ventricular tachycardia? I've had this before, had to take some arrhythmia pills until I could have cardiac ablation procedure. Make sure you stay hydrated, but not just with water,, your body needs salt, magnesium, potassium and calcium to keep your electrolytes in check.
what is the name of your opening song?
😎💙👍🫡
so sad things went wrong and your friend died.
Why would you need a dingy with 60 hp ,,,huge weight to be hanging off the back of sailboat
I missed when you transitioned back to a gas powered Dingy.
In this video... keep watching.. ;)
60 horsepower for that dinghy is overkill, you will continue to have problems with breaching the davits and or transom support due to the weight of that engine. Then unless you got a freebie, the marketed price point for that engine is $6,500-$9,500.🤷 Life’s good
OMG SSL-723 Comments are off. A piss shot? Poor decision, my wife would never talk to me again. Hey, thanks my problems solved!
I say this is a friendly way, I always enjoyed your videos so take my criticism as trying to be helpful.
The electric dinghy motor did not last long. Most sailors experience the same, whether dinghy or whole boat.
Get a little gas money,
What did you do captain?!??! After pimping electric ⚡💡 dinghy for years u revert to this 🤔
60 Ho on that dinghy seems like over kill to me. And you Rick need to put your health on priority so you can see you son become a man.
But the 60 sure is fun!! ;). And yes, I'm sure my son is going to enjoy it more than me very soon, Lol
