Great video, however I am not getting any audio in. Where do you play the audio from if not microphone, vlc, winamp, cubase? Does not work for me. Is it possible to just work with a wav-file in the project and change the columns manually while recording everything?
Loving the tutorials man. They're easy to understand for a beginner like me. Thank you so much! Do you have any mapping tutorials? I really like the way you explain stuff and the tips you give . so i was hoping you also have some mapping tuts!
Right on, thank you for the feedback! Mapping is definitely on the horizon. It'll be in the same style as these tutorials with some live footage once we get to it. Stay tuned!
So I am trying to make a little visual thing for my friends song he made and I am new to resolume, so I am struggling on how to actually get his song onto resolume
Great tips thanks a lot. I got one question though.. is it possible to link the actual timeline to audio? I know this was possible in the early version of resolume but cant figure out on the new one...
Thanks for the feedback. Not sure if this is possible in Resolume unless you're syncing to SMPTE which is an Arena-only feature. That may be what you're looking for, other than BPM Sync, didn't see a way to do it unfortunately. This is a good question for the Resolume forum.
Hi!! How are you? I have Resolume, i need animate some image with the beat of my music... I use Resolume with Mac, but here i dont have audio interface.. Can I use native sound card from my Mac too? If thats is, can I export the animated clip for upload on RUclips? I cant find export options in my Resolume... Can you help me? :(
If you're on a Mac, Quicktime can capture the screen or you can look into using Syphon with the Syphon Recorder app. For PC, see if there are any Spout options, or look into NVIDIA Shadowplay, possibly Fraps as well. We're mostly Mac based, so if there are any PC users out there your suggestions are warmly welcome!
I have a questions, can we just use resolume as synchronizer for a music that we upload on youtube? Becase all the tutorials on youtube are made for live purpose. All i want is use resolume as a software to set the visuals to my beats before uploading it on youtube?
Hi, you can definitely use it as a music visualizer. Using the same techniques you can play your audio track and trigger clips while capturing the audio/video of your screen. If you're on a Mac, look into Syphon and on PC Spout for higher quality captures. Hope this helps!
HI DocOptic, Could you help me?, i have a problem with mp3 music, resolume4 read it (like a bar not a wave) but i dont hear anything, videoclips or something else sound perfect, i only had the problem with that. Thank for the tutorial !!
Hi, I believe at the time of recording this tutorial we were testing it with the BEHRINGER U-Control UCA202 which is a minimal USB audio interface for Mac/PC.
I'm having troubles getting Audio into Resolume, I'm not sure if there's a certain type of file you need, or an outside software needed to play the music and correlate it with Resolume. If I need an outside software, it would be really helpful to know which one it is, I'm on a PC and any help would be great, thanks!
+TheGuyInGold WAV files work best in Resolume if you would like to play your audio files directly. Just make sure to drag the audio clip to an empty slot and trigger on one of the layers. If using audio FFT just make sure that your audio interface is detected in Resolume and your levels are turned up. Hope that helps!
Really interested in using this for an art project! But I'm having a few problems. I want to add my own video and audio (separate files), that only 'displays/fades in and out' when the sound clip plays. Is this possible? Thanks :)
DocOptic Perfect. Just looking to make it more reactive to the sound now, I've turned the gain up and the fall down. Seems to be doing the trick! Lifesaver!
nevermind i found it :DDDDDDDDDDDDDD for those of you having a hard time here is how i did it in windows followed this link i know the program is not the same but it works under the same logic www.howtogeek.com/howto/39532/how-to-enable-stereo-mix-in-windows-7-to-record-audio/
Is there any way for me to have the audio output from serato into resolume arena 4, then have that audio inputing as the external audio to be reactive with visuals (One computer would be running both softwares)
Dakoolguy111 Best thing to do would be to have the main output of your Serato setup go into an audio interface and use that as an external FFT source. If you're on a Mac you can look into software like Soundflower or Sound Siphon to use built-in audio as a source. Cheers.
DocOptic I have a presonus audiobox USB, and when I plugged it into my laptop running resolume, it didn't show up as an option under the audio settings. When I clicked on MIDI, the interface showed up so I know the computer recognizes the interfaces properly, but resolume didn't show the audiobox in the dropdown menu for the audio input.
Hey there, sorry wish we could help. You will probably have to contact Resolume to see why it's not detecting your audio interface. It has to show up in your list of Audio Input devices in Resolume's preferences in order for it to work.
your voice is so relaxing dude

Hi, I believe at the time of recording this tutorial we were testing it with the BEHRINGER U-Control UCA202 which is a minimal USB audio interface for Mac/PC.
DocOptic Nice! I'LL try with a similar one. Thanx!!

Have you considered linking the audio to the opacity of your layer or composition?
DocOptic Perfect. Just looking to make it more reactive to the sound now, I've turned the gain up and the fall down. Seems to be doing the trick! Lifesaver!
LewwwyD Awesome. Yes, for a smoother look turn Fall down, sometimes even just a little bit of Fall can give you a fade-like look.
Helll yeah, Carmack baby! fuck dude, you're so good at tuts!!
how do I add music to Resolume?
how to use distortion and ripples
hey bro one questions how can i use visuals depending on what im listening on my computer while resolume is open ?
nevermind i found it :DDDDDDDDDDDDDD
