  • In this video we’ll take a deep dive into using envelopes. These little lines are a great way to animate your content and do much more. First I’ll explain all the ins and outs of Envelopes in Resolume and after that we’ll go through 13 example uses for envelopes.

    would be great if you could finger drum in markers in the lfo as they play.
    This also works in a DAW sto create markers on the fly to create snappoints.
    Even better using the keyboard or midi sources to record automation to the clip envelope. Like how Ablerom does it. Clip Automation can be drawn or recorded lice as midi. Would be a great feature for Resolume.

    WOW, I've been away from VJ'ing for a long time (still have all my kit and 3 x R2.3 licenses :-) ) - and I'm stunned by how Resolume has evolved. I used to use 3 different apps to make and live render content before mixing / layering it for output with Resolume, but, R7 would do all that and more now !
    Congratulations to Bart and team, I take my hat off to you all :-)

    Sweet info. I had never found the clip position timing feature. This is why I don't do video tuts . You guys provide everything you need to know is in your tutorials.
    Beyond that its just experimentation and experience .

    Great video, but how do you adjust the gain and falloff knobs with an envelope?

      Do you mean the dashboard knobs ?

    • @fractalman8064
      @fractalman8064 4 года назад

      No, not the dashboard. Within each effect the Gain and Fall knobs (upper right 2 knobs).

      @@fractalman8064 I understand. You mean the Gain and Fall knows when using FFT. It is not possible to make envelopes for those two knobs as i would require two envelopes for one timeline. My advise would be to make FFT Gain visible (View --> Show FFT Gain) and then add a midi knob or slider to the FFT Gain knob. Most VJ's do this to be able to quickly adjust the gain when the music gets louder or softer during a show. The fall parameter is not a really usefull thing to set globally since you need to tweak it per effect to get the results you like. (maybe one effect drops fast and the other slow etc).

      @@ResolumeVJSoftware I agree Falloff is not as important as gain. However, my goal is NOT external FFT, it is internal composition. So can we put an envelope on just the gain? An extra knob or slider works, but you have to stand there and adjust it constantly. If it could be recorded, you could do it once, and it would be perfect forever.
