      If it's about sensitive food or medicine, absolutely. If you just want your drinks to stay cool (not ice cold), and you don't want to spend a whole lot on it, a good thermoelectric cooler should do the trick. We have both compressor and thermoelectric coolers when camping. The compressor one in the back of the car for food, and the thermoelectric one in the front for drinks and vegetables.

    Hi, thanks for the thorough review ! It appears at 26:06 that you were using the first generation 8Ah battery for this test. This model is impacted by early defect of its Bluetooth module which causes the internal voltage regulator to fry (with a resistance R44 of 20 ohm also). Parkside corrected this defect in the 2nd gen of 8ha batteries so it might be worth testing with them and see if the charging behavior is similar. Note a firmware upgrade is not correcting this issue. Thanks again for the work put into this review.

      Its not battery related. The battery terminals on the cooling box are all wrong: ruclips.net/video/2O4pfi-Cq00/видео.html&lc

    If I could give more likes for this thorough review, i would. Already sent the link to my friends that watched this with me. My friend already ordered Parkside and he is waiting for the delivery. I see that you and your viewers either expect something completely different and even impossible from the car fridge WITH ability to use it with battery.
    Me and my friends totally agree that Parkside is better in this review for a long run.
    Metabo is more expensive right now (around 100PLN which is around 23 euro atm) Those kind of fridges are supposed to maintain temperature, not entirely for cooling. Parkside worked around 1,5 hour longer even at lower outcome temperature it still wins, and since me and my friend already own some Parkside tools, we also have batteries, which other + for buying parkside fridge, but its not objective, i know. Also Parkside is lighter - another plus
    If the OP could give us some hints for other fridges like that but better I would be glad and we would definitely look at them.
    Again, thansk for the review, Im looking forward to use Parkside :)

    Could you do the test with new paste? I would be interested in what could cause the difference between the two boxes.

    Клипа е направен отлично, за което получавате +. Обаче резултатите са съмнителни и според мене много хора тук ще си направят погрешен извод. Тази кутия я нямам, но имам две от предишните серии. Първата я ползвам може би повече от 10 год. Преместих я в офиса (в склада, защото стана доста шумна) и работи, макар че не може да се регулира мощноста. По новата я купих преди 3-4 месеца. Стои в лятната ми кухня/ работилница и мога да кажа, че е отлична. В ЕКО режим или близко е абсолютно безшумна. На макс разбира се се чува. Нося я на всякъде с мене когато пътувам а през останалото време стои в лятната кухня и ми спестява ходенето до големия хладилник за поредната бира. След вашето видео проверих как са нещата. 26оС в кухнята сутринта 2/3 мощност 13оС в кутията (-13оС). Сложих на максимална мощност и след 2 часа проверих- Температура в кухнята 31оС, температура в кутията честните 11оС (-20оС по спецификация). При тези аномални температури е повече от добре. Проблема за топла бира по скоро е обратен- при по хладно време бирата може да замръзне :). Тази нова версия ме съблазнява, но тук не са я пускали. Допълнителната опция с работа с батерия е добра възможност. Едва ли охлаждащата част на новата кутия е по различна от тази която купих наскоро. Изводи?- ще ги спестя. Надявам се видеото е честно, защото има доста манипулирани по поръчка

    Well there is a hick up in the way you place the boxes. Metabo is blowing his hot air on the left out and parkside has to swallow that hot air. That is why the start was very simular and than we had a drop on parkside worinkg.

    • @icku
      @icku  4 месяца назад +1

      Are you for real? Have you ever felt the output air volume of such cooling box? You can blow more with your mouth. Metabo is not blowing anything onto Parkside. The truth is that Parkside is far worse cooling box - period!

    • @deregorn1
      @deregorn1 4 месяца назад

      @@icku As I do have multiple of these devices I know. The Problem is exactly the soft blowout that is used to keep noise down but also doesn't dissipate the air far so it is easily in the intake area of the next box... so I know how sensitive they are to the air they suck in.

  • @sebastiansabou6681
    @sebastiansabou6681 4 месяца назад

    I don't know how conclusive the tests are because the boxes don't have the same button settings: at minute 3:50 Parkside is on battery, Metabo is on 220V, at minute 10:02 Parkside is on 220V but Metabo is on battery. I think that the performance depends on the power supply mode for both boxes

    • @icku
      @icku  4 месяца назад

    My mistake, this comment I wrong! Don't know if I'm correct but in the battery test the Parkside is on 230v looking at the switch while running on battery. Maybe that explains the charging info in the app. Maybe the box charges on 230v and switches over to battery when the 230 gets cut off.
    But that doesn't mean there is a massive flaw in the system when it can drain a battery to destruction

    • @tovenaar1988
      @tovenaar1988 5 месяцев назад

      @icku To ad to my comment t it also explains the 50% longer runtime when using approx 10% less power than the Metabo. It also sort off explains the power cycling on and off when the battery is empty. The charge rate is slower then the consumption of the cooler.

    Ye i believe its down to the actual peltier fridges themselves regardless of make they could never truly produce the coldness that we would expect from a fridge. Unfortunately the peltier seems to be all that we have available today besides the compressor.
    The only thing i can think of to better the peltier fridges performance is to work on the insolation. Eg: If the intire inside was made up of tin this would greatly enhance the overall performance for sure.

    I bough such a box for camping. It worked fine in a combination of energy from cable in the tent / 12v in the car with running motor and 20V batteries using the boc off - grid.
    BUT : !!!!!!!!!!!
    2 different Parkside Performance 8V Batteries were destroyed by using those in this cooling box. They are not recharged using the normal charger, before that thex were in use for less than 12 hours / each.
    That is a NO-GO !

    I guess metabo paid for the larger cooling ''peltier'', but that will drain its battery faster, swings and roundabouts.... metabo for picnics parkside for camping.... they usually come in 40 60 and 90w cooling elements which in ratio is kind of right for 2hrs and 3hrs as seen

    Can I keep the battery attached and connected while using another power source (230V or 12V) or it has to be removed?

Die Test habe ich bei 26 Grad durchgeführt mit einem 4Ah Performance Parkside Akku. Bei 30min = 17 Grad, 1h = 11 Grad, 1,5h = 7 Grad, 2h = 5 Grad!
