Our granddaughter saves her Starbucks drink bottles for me - clean them, remove the label and I use them for bath salts, spice mixes and other things such as candies. They are so cute as gift containers plus (for me) they are free 😁 - Lynn
Try painting them with a coat of Mod Podge followed by 1-2 coats of chalk paint. I used sponge "brushes". After drying, I wrapped different ribbons, strips of bling, jute cord, etc., around the top...beautiful vases to tuck away in small areas, give as gifts.
To fill up my mop buckets or to refill giant water jugs, I keep a DT Pool Noodle just for this hack. It fits right over the spigot without leaks and keeps the surrounding area totally dry.
@lillmetoo my bathtubs are either upstairs or downstairs; but my kitchen, foyer, and the majority of floors to wash, are all on the middle, main floor. Filling a bucket in a bathtub requires lugging up or down a flight of stairs. Using the pool noodle is the easiest option.
Hey Liz, you can use a Magic Eraser to clean white tennis shoes (even the bottom sides) to get them and get them looking brand new again, then spray them with rubbing alcohol on the inside to get rid of any stinky feet smell! You won’t have to soak their shoes anymore or use expensive cleaners! Have a great day! 😊
Thanks to you and your camera lady for everything you do. I recently started using those glass bottles from (Starbucks) iced coffee to store spices, them rehuse the tap from the plastic containers and labeled the bottles. They look gorgeous and organized.
Hi Liz. I use Dawn Power wash to clean all of my sneakers. Yes even the white ones. The power wash cleans a lot more as well. Gets the yellow out of older lamp shades and many more. I use it to clean my thrift finds as well. Thanks for sharing. I love both of your channels. ❤
Sitting here flipping through tv chanels- exploring all the channels I get now with my Roku tv and the (T-Mobile)internet I was able to get and I am watching you on my phone and low and behold there you are on my tv! Channel hello inspo- way to go!!!!! How awesome hometown girl !!!!!!!!
After cutting the orange, slip a spoon between the orange and the peel to “scoop” it out. My Grandma taught me that when I was a little girl. The only way to peel an orange!
THIS is what I came here to say! Then, when I want my house to smell really clean, I put a little oil in the side that has the stem going through and light the stem--instant citrus candle!
@@ja9. I loved the idea too and am wondering the same thing. How does she adhere it? I'll ask this question up top just in case she doesn't see it here. Thanks Janine.
I rarely comment but wanted to say I think this is one of your best "hack" videos I've seen recently. I especially like the yellow gloves. I live in an apartment with those little narrow blinds (tacky) on all windows. To make matters worse, the area is heavily shaded with no grass. Still the mower guys come along weekly with those big tractor mowers and "mow" the dirt. Finally, I face a busy road that stirs up dust. As you can imagine, dusty blinds are the bane of my housekeeping existence. Those gloves will soon be arriving at my front door!! Thanks
I too rarely comment but came across your video and couldn't resist. I also live in a small apartment and can relate so I will be putting the gloves to the test. Anything to work smarter and not harder.
on the sheets when you spray it . I put a little bit of fabric softer in my bottle of water.makes them smell great plus looks nice. try that one you will love it.
And the 👑Reigning Queen of Hacks & DIYs has done it yet again👑 thank you Liz!! In case this might help someone, I will throw in my measly 2 cents.. you know those cutesy, often Christmas themed fuzzy socks that every store starts shoving in your face to buy as "stocking stuffers" well before you wanna even think about the impending cold weather? Well, I'm not sure if they're technically microfiber or not, but they sure do feel like it to me. So instead of using them to keep my feet warm, I put them on my hands like cute little sock puppets & then go to town dusting the window blinds, etc. I also realized that they're very useful to keep your plants clean too. If you have 1 on each hand, you can dust off the top and bottom of each leaf simultaneously (huge time & aggravation saver!). And i just feel like I have so much more control as to how slowly & gently I can dust off the more juvenile & fragile leaves. I guess that was a whole lot of writing to ultimately say thank you for always sharing your wisdom with us Liz. You are so kind & generous to do so and you really, REALLY help those of us who struggle to see alternate ways of using and doing things. Once I know the "intended" purpose of an item, it's damn near impossible to see it any other way, unless I'm fortunate enough to learn from someone else. So when I say that you have been INCREDIBLY helpful to me & so many others and how appreciative & grateful we all are, I truly mean it. Thank you again💛
Yellow glove hack.Freezing the water in the container.I can see if you don't have a tub to use the dust pan.If you have a tub just use that. Thanks Liz for great ideas.
Love your HACK videos! The yellow glove is my choice for cleaning blinds. I love the solid tray of ice under the tray of fruit the best! I have used the dust pan in my bathroom to get water into a bucket before. You could use the shower head or the tub faucet to fill the buckets instead! TFS!
Hangers for chip clips, AAA used for AA, using gloves for dusting blinds and replacing crickets labels with computer printed labels were all clever hacks. Actually all of the hacks were clever but I want to try the four I mentioned. All of the hacks were totally well done!
Thank you for your tips Liz! You're amazing. I watch you as a stress reliever and for creative ideas-your videos are so informative and Zen! The battery hack blew my mind-can't tell you how many times I've been in that position. Now I know what to do. I haven't tried the denture hack on sneakers, but I have used it to soak and clean glass, jewelry (gold, natural stones) and pottery. It gets them crystal clean and doesn't leave the streaks that dishwasher tablets can leave behind.
There’s a really cool hack for garlic where you takeoff the outer skin put the garlic in a bowl like a mixing bowl preferably, cover it with a plate, and then shake it up until it’s unskins itself. It works. You can even try to two same size bowls lip to lip if you don’t have available. I’ve done it and it surprisingly works
Denture tablets work great to get coffee stains from cups and coffee pot I use 6 tablets with a tinge of dish soap use a dish cloth or brush and swirl it around the bottom and sides of the coffee pot works great be sure to rinse well
I make a spray for my sheets, blankets and duvets that's a mixture of my favorite fabric softener and water. It not only makes them lay wrinkle free but smells great. I've been snapping the clips off of plastic skirt/pant hangers for years. It just doesn't make sense to buy clips when you can use what you have. I've used clothes pins, rubber bands and the metal binder clips as bag clips most of my life. Lol
Love the gloves for cleaning blinds. I really like the dust pan hack. Thanks for showing the fails as well. There are so many so called hacks out there but, to be honest, so many are just not practical or work. Thanks for trying and giving an honest opinion.
Hack! Ok love the ice tray hack. I have my daughters graduation party this summer totally doing that!! I like the gloves idea. I just told my hubby we need to clean ours. And the battery and foil Awesome thanks for sharing
Love all the hacks. Thank you. I use the dollar tree blind cleaner with the terry covers. You get 2 covers when your done pop it in the wash. Work great on vertical blinds too
Denture tabs are a great alternative to clean coffee machines - especially the frother! I use a couple of tabs and leave the frother tube submerged in the frother jug overnight.
Is this hack for regular coffee machines or the newer styles? I need something to clean my dad's coffee maker, especially the part that holds the water.
@Cake Supply_Lady I am particularly to using vinegar and water to clean. Make a pot like usual, minus the filter, add a half or cup of vinegar to the water, and run as normal. Based on the buildup, you may need to run vinegar through one more time. (If you have a dishwasher, take the parts that can be removed and clean that way.) Remember to run another cycle in the coffee pot with plain water. Hope this helps.
@@Just-YOLANDA-T.C I haven't as yet run it thru our 5 year cappuccino machine as still have box of cleaning tabs but I will alternate as they are basically bicarb etc. It was excellent to remove buildup on steamer pipe and nozzle.
I use body parts for measurements. I measured from tip of index finger to 1st joint. Tip of thumb to tip on pinky. Tip of middle finger to wrist. Tip fo middle finger to elbow. Wrist to elbow. Tip of middle finger to shoulder. I learned as a kid, that if I hold the end of a piece of fabric with my index finger & thumb, the center of my chest is approx 1 yard. In this day of plastic money, I often find myself without cash. But I always have my arms. LOL
WOW, I bet that towel rack hack could also be used for yoga mat storage‼ I bought a "small quantity" case of those cabinet shelves online, b/c they literally have not had them in my 3 most local DTs since before the pandemic. I had them shipped to my store, and they took FOREVER to arrive (2 weeks exactly, but it felt like a month 😅🙃)... I KNEW I should've purchased 2 orders! Thanks for the tip/demonstration; towels look beautiful that way. Edit: Whoooaaa... That dustpan-handle _funnel_ hack...😲🤯❣
Another tip is dish washer tabs. Place 2 or 3 tabs minus the red power boost ball in the middle of tab if there. Add really hot water and add white socks (about 5 pairs each time) that are greying. Leave overnight, rinse and they will be much whiter. ☺️
HACK~ I have been watching your videos for a long time and I truly enjoy watching them seeing all your hacks and also seeing all of your organization ideas I'm big on organizing and you give me a lot of great ideas thank you
My dad taught me to use a spoon to peel garlic. Place the back of the spoon on top of the clove and push down with both hands. The peel comes right off and your garlic is smashed so it's even easier to chop. I adjust the pressure I use on the spoon depending on how smashed I want the garlic
1 good way to do the garlic is just pop it in a jar after removing the stem end. Shake the jar quite hard and the outside will come off. Dump it out and the small pices can go back in and shake hard again and the skin will be off the individual sections also. Ready to use.
Seems like the garlic hack could be dangerous. LOL! I use soft scrub and a nail brush to get dingy shoes looking white again. It works on leather shows, or material such as vans or converse. I never put them in the dryer just let them air dry. I do use denture cleaners to clean the coffee pot or a pitcher that I keep iced tea in. I let it set for 5-10 minutes and then scrub with a bristle pad or dish washing brush. I think the label hack is my favorite. I've seen that before and it is great for anyone that doesn't have a label maker or cricut.
I think for the tennis shoe with the denture tablets you need a smaller container so that the denture tablet is more concentrated and I think it would work
That’s how I do mine, freeze the tray. It melts a lot slower! I’ve been doing the clips from the hangers for years now. Sometimes it’s hard to get them off
I do the orange peeling hack a lot. There's another version of it where you cut a little off the 2 ends. Then cut the orange from one end to the other on any side. Open up the orange and you can pick each section off 😊
I love the yellow glove HACK out of the two. The labels blew my mind! What a great idea!

I thought of turn those bottles into a vase for flowers.
Try painting them with a coat of Mod Podge followed by 1-2 coats of chalk paint. I used sponge "brushes". After drying, I wrapped different ribbons, strips of bling, jute cord, etc., around the top...beautiful vases to tuck away in small areas, give as gifts.
I used to save all of mine too, but I stopped when my son used them for a "bottled lemonade" stand 😂
To fill up my mop buckets or to refill giant water jugs, I keep a DT Pool Noodle just for this hack. It fits right over the spigot without leaks and keeps the surrounding area totally dry.
