Yeah, they flow well. It reminds me of the old days when finding a good DMC MAD creator meant being introduced to _actually good_ music. I still listen to Wildpath and Heavenly because Brea used them in style videos in 2009.
They're not necessarily "good". They do lots of flashy attacks and combos but accomplish very little. Not properly timing the dodges and dealing next to no damage to Balder as a result is a good example. Or spending so much time balancing the Hammer guy in the air, even though a few combos with witch time sprinkled through would've been sufficient.
Plays aggressively against masked lumen while avoiding and punishing his attacks. Does next to no damage because the jackass still auto-dodges if you don’t activate witch time. Bayonetta 2, ladies and gentlemen. 🤦
Why is that objectively a bad thing? I like it that way since it makes the fight flow well like a give and take dance as you attack him inside witch time whilst dodging outside of WT

I feel it makes for a style of play that doesn't feel organic, as it's basically a simon says boss fight decorated as the game's "Rival" fight. Rival fights usually feel like the fights with the most potential for player freedom, as the boss generally has similar traits/moves to your character with similar weaknesses. Simon says bosses are in contrast very formulaic. Beyond that, Masked Lumen input reading you so much makes certain playstyles terrible to use against him. One example is running the Evil Harvest Rosary; which is pretty whack in Bayo 2. In one, it was great for NSIC due to the first game not being balanced around having WT. But in 2, you'll dodge Lumen (or Lopter and Aesir) and then watch as he just dodges the ensuing explosion while he's still in his attack animation because "fuck you, that's not how this fight works."

Calling Vergil a formulaic boss fight is quite the take considering he was designed to be beatable with any style in 3, can be fought offensively or defensively, and can literally be one-shot in 5. As far as rivals go, he's considered the standard by many action-hack and slash fans for that very reason.
I love how the last Bayo combo vid looked like something Donguri would do and now this one looks like something Sakaki would do And then it turns into Koudai T.'s level of aerial combat after 3 minutes
I'm surprised how well the combos I did in dmc3 are working extremely well in my current bayonetta playthrough on my switch (only that Bayonetta witch time is more strict on timing then Dante's dmc3 royal guard)
Bayonetta's Witch Time isn't as strict as Jeanne's Witch Time where you have to dodge as you are hit. What's worse in Bayonetta 1 is that Non-Stop Infinite Climax removes Witch Time with the enemies being all in Hard Mode Difficulty. Bayonetta 2 made it easier by removing Non-Stop Infinite Climax and add a lower difficulty called Infinite Climax which still has the Witch Time Mechanic but, it doesn't really matter much since most enemies in Bayonetta 2 can either block your attacks, and you have a very non-existant amount of Witch Time available to you. In fact, I saw in some videos of Bayonetta vs Aesir, in Bayo 2, some players will dodge then pause then dodge immediately since there is no time to attack before Witch Time ends.
When a bayonetta player execute combos in bayonetta: cool combos w/o breaking combo. When a DMC player execute combos in bayonetta: cool combos but moves a lot more. Cool vid ^^

Not being able to fight an enemy without witch time is poor design and significantly hampers and homgenizes your options to fight decently since you would always just be fishing for it. The bangle of time is like the second best accessory in the game because it cuts off all defensive witch time in exchange for using it manually, which is 100 times more convenient and useful
When the combat in Bayonetta 2 clicks it's better than Bayonetta 1 and flows beautifully but certain problems like enemies hitting you from off screen and the relentless dodging of some bosses can be frustrating.
Definitely get a switch to play them then. It’s worth supporting a top tier game like this, and plus the switch is a great place to play exclusive character action games like Bayo or Astral Chain Plus it’s probably cheap rn, so even easier Bayo access lol

The only thing I will say about bayonetta is that combos look stiff compared to the first game and look tense compared to the fluidity of DEVIL may cry but then again DMC is a hard game to follow

Bayo 1 was deeper, but Bayo 2 was much better made on most fronts that weren’t depth. Boss fights were overall better mechanically (outside of Jean in 1), weapons were better, enemies were better and way less gimmicky, etc. Bayo 2 is an objective improvement in most ways, people just like to act superior about combo depth when there’s any minute difference, a lot like purists talking about DMC 4 or even 3 over 5

I think they’re mostly just a DMC person. If DMC is the head of this genre, Bayo is definitely the next best thing, and I can’t see others like Ninja Gaiden or Astral Chain beating it But yea the Bayo games are top tier, easily some of the best gameplay out there overall

Honestly agreed. DMC is a lot more forgiving, especially on ratings, and the normal enemies are easy to get into a combo state. Bayo isn’t much harder, but it feels a lot more punishing on most levels, and harder to combo on higher diffs
Alright tell me: did you record it from the Wii or did you emulate it and how is it? Because I do not have pleasant memories from Bayonetta 1 thanks to the instant death QTE's and the never ending Space Harrier section (thanks Kamiya)
While stacking two sh'mup sections back to back in 1 was annoying. Over half of Bayonetta 2's story levels have some type of gimmick that takes away a part of your moveset. From stage 1 with the flying boss battle (which removes all of your jump moves, your panther form, and some ground moves), to the FINAL stage with a sh'mup section AND flying boss fight.
Why are people moaning about his game play ? He is having fun and thats why most of us DMC players love about such games. I got Bonyyata 1 from steam now, wish i could get 2 but sadly this will not happen 😞
@@DavidHosey1 No it's not. Bayo 2 doesn't allow you the freedom to do whatever you want. It's very restrictive in it's combat relying on high dps weapons under a very strict time. Pure platinum is rather not fun in Bayo 2.

It was made by Hideki Kamiya, the creator of DMC, with Platinum games. That's basically one of the best combination you can get for a Hack n Slash.

Bayonetta 1 and 2 are god fucking awful to try and get good grades in, but other than the witch hunts it can be a pain to just go in and fight enemies

I think they’re mostly just a DMC person. If DMC is the head of this genre, Bayo is definitely the next best thing, and I can’t see others like Ninja Gaiden or Astral Chain beating it
But yea the Bayo games are top tier, easily some of the best gameplay out there overall
might be just me but i do feel comboing in dmc is way more easy then in bayonetta .. also dmc in general iwas more easy .. prolly because lexss chaoticthen agin this is 2 sooo ^^

Honestly agreed. DMC is a lot more forgiving, especially on ratings, and the normal enemies are easy to get into a combo state. Bayo isn’t much harder, but it feels a lot more punishing on most levels, and harder to combo on higher diffs

Im not a big fan of either of the bayonetta games if im bein honest, but if u wanna go in and just do combos i think its fine.

@@BeeGBoss I will try it out when I have the time. I am used to dial-up combos from than the delay based ones from DMC, so I will feel right at home.
While stacking two sh'mup sections back to back in 1 was annoying. Over half of Bayonetta 2's story levels have some type of gimmick that takes away a part of your moveset. From stage 1 with the flying boss battle (which removes all of your jump moves, your panther form, and some ground moves), to the FINAL stage with a sh'mup section AND flying boss fight.
Bayo 2 QTEs are not deadly and unfair like those in 1, so you're safe
And yeah Space Harrier is not here either (thanks Hashimoto)

Hopefully in bayo 3 they avoid the mistake they made in this game it can be fun but bayo 1 felt like every thing was more balanced.

They can tho, rather easily. Pure platinum is about combo, efficiency, and not getting hit. Stuff like this would get pure plats I think
@@DavidHosey1 No it's not. Bayo 2 doesn't allow you the freedom to do whatever you want. It's very restrictive in it's combat relying on high dps weapons under a very strict time. Pure platinum is rather not fun in Bayo 2.
@@BEAUTYTENGU pure platinum is just as freeing in style as Bayo 1, I genuinely don’t get what you’re talking about. I feel like you’re having a problem that maybe some had, but the majority did not. Bayo 1 has depth in systems that go a bit further, I’ll admit. But Bayo 2 is hardly any further off, and is practically just as freeing. Especially due to the fact that the enemies are far less restrictive or gimmicky
@@DavidHosey1 Are you serious? No it isn't. In Bayonetta 2 you have to rely on managing your magic for Umbran Climax to deal out DPS with certain weapons. In Bayonetta you can use any weapon you want and still pull PP and it was actually enjoyable and stylish. The tech is not the same.
