I met Ichiriki Ryo and Michael Redmond during the WAGC earlier this year. Both of them true gentlemen who took generous time to discuss go with us amateurs. Thanks for the commentary, Michael 🙏
Congratulations to Ichiriki, especially coming back after Ke Jie's solid win in Game 1. It's exciting to (finally) have a Japanese player in an international final again. And of course thank you Michael for excellent analysis of a fairly complicated game.
We almost had two Japanese players in finals, but somehow Iyama collapsed against Gu Zihao in the Quzhou-Lanke semifinal. Wish someone would explain that game to me...maybe Mr.Redmond 😉
ouf, this was the hardest to follow of the series for a simple ddk, but also delightfully magical. I was really surprised by what was going on in the top right side. You kept talking about black weaknesses while after M15 by black I was being anxious that white got himself into trouble with the "light-invasion" you called it. There is so much to learn! Thank you, Mr. Redmond, all the best to you for what you do!
Love your reviews! I will say, I feel like you don't always consider the dramatic element of not knowing the outcome of the match. Personally, I would like you to keep the outcome secret until the end, as long as it does not interfere with your analysis. Thanks for another great recap!
Ke Jie is a very strong opponent. Ichiriki Ryo has a very interesting style ; I got a feeling of a great flexibility when waching this game. Or may be not flexibility, but lightnes...

I like your reviews, but you killed the surprise in the title 😅!
Thank you Sensei.

Yet who would you like the less in your garden?
Why provide the spoiler in the title :(
I almost disliked this vid because ke jie lost.
But i guess it is not your fault...
Or is it?
...
Just kidding ofc - thanks for your effort.
