looking more closely at the video, i dont think the sides you have to push in to show the "sippy cup" part are the same sides you use to screw the lid on and off. so assuming thats the case, she probably didnt notice because she didnt have a reason to push those sides in.

I decided to order some and not a great experience taking one apart to see how to clean. I think it’s so difficult because they claim everything is dishwasher safe. I ended up here looking to see if people are using them easily with smoothies and instead I find people who are shocked by how they work 🤣

It has that it literally gives you instructions if you actually read the instructions if you order it off of Amazon like not Amazon what the heck off of the the Stanley place then it comes with instructions to do it. Goodness gracious.
lol I found this out pretty much immediately because I had my wisdom teeth removed shortly after getting mine and I had to stop using straws for a week
Also if you wash it the part that twists comes out and the little rubber part that holds your straw pops out too so you can get all the stuff out to prevent mold or bad tastes!

Alright. Here’s my opinion on it. I think, Stanley never announced the “sippy cup” hack, and people just thought “oh this hole could be used as a sippy cup.” Well yes, that is true. But, I think Stanley only intended in installing that hole just so the straw could actually get into the cup, without the hole area, then the straw would not even go into the cup, and you could not drink through it. But this is a cool “hack” although it is not intended to be a “sippy cup” as Stanley’s original thought.
