I just wanted to say that I really appreciate your teaching style. I will definitely be referring back to your videos. Thank you!!! I only wish that I had seen this when I first got the trial. My trial's over hopefully I'll be able to buy it sooner rather than later
I just started an hours ago using hatch and this video was the most helpful thing ever! I already digitized 3 photos already!

Katherine de Guzman Thank you so much for watching and commenting! I appreciate the support!!
This was VERY helpful! I'm playing around with the 30 day trial and wish I saw this sooner!
That Open shape is a lot like the shaping tool in Photoshop :D Makes it really easy to understand having come from Photoshop.
OMG!!!! I've had my software for over a year and during lock down, it has been the first time I've had time to sit and watch the videos. I'm going to have to live forever to use all these amazing designs and functions! Loving it!!!!!!!
Love this video! One of the best to start out with the software Ive seen. I just paused and then practiced and started again.
Woohoo! Thanks! Please share with everyone so that they can get a start with Hatch!
I genuinely felt intimidated when watching videos on digitizing, to the point where I did not want to consider doing embroidery anymore, I kept searching and searching and I just want to thank you so much for this tutorial, I almost feel silly for wanting to give up, this software seems very user friendly and easy. Thank you so much for this video and your time! You definitely changed my perspectives!
You can do it!

@@OMLembroidery I'm wanting this program, but want a person to contact me. This embroidery program is an expensive one and I just want to make sure it's the correct one I am looking for.
how did you turn off auto scroll?
Great help. Thank-you. :-)
Hello. Brand new to Hatch. After stumbling along unsuccessfully most of the day I found you ! Yeah! But following you got to the locate artwork manual file and kept getting no files in the folder and a blank page. Noticed that your setting were same as mine but nothing in that , or any artwork folder. Only when I changed the ‘showing’ to ALL ARTWORK FILES did the pictures finally show up. How is it that yours show when the ‘showing ‘ is set to the first option ‘all in one design files...? I’m really interested in giving this program a real chance but so far I am more frustrated than happy. Already appreciate you. Hope to find videos in some sort of order that helps learn from step to step. Thank you. Can you explain why mine do not show like yours?
Can I also do like my own designs upload there? Like other pictures or digital drawing
And does this software can convert it when it’s finish to pes data for brother embroidery machine
Please help :)
Which portion of the software has the cap pic and “center out” conversion tool for cap digitizing? Thanks! Love watching your videos:) I learn so much😄
I’m fairly familiar with a program called Inkscape, which seems a lot like Hatch in some ways. Can’t you add nodes after you’ve made a path if it needs a little extra shaping? This is possible in Inkscape and makes it easy to really refine your paths.
Does this software work with Every type of Embroidery Machine Question!
yes, you can export the design into any machine format.
Outlines and offsets is no longer under "edit objects". It is located under "create layouts".
ah, OK thanks for the update. It's not possible to update any of the videos on youtube.
Hello Sue,
Do you make house calls lol? New to digitizing. Looking at video over and over.
i need help. i have a brother se600 and Im having problems for digitize my designs
Is hatch embroidery sequin design
Hello Sue , having a small issue with missing the artwork files . I am not sure why but the artwork sub folders are all Empty ;;(
how do you keep jobs, designs, or prodjects centered?
How u jump to the tool bar I’m still at the beginning of the screen
I downloaded the trial software and followed pretty well until you outlined the flower. I didn't find that outline object anywhere. Please help. I must have that if I'm to buy the software
make sure you are using the digitizer level of the software.
Sorry! Some of my pictures have white backgrounds, some have black. The artwork you referenced is in the Auto digitizing folder. ??? Mystified.
When I digitize my images they look great on my computer. When I transfer them to my drive and open them for preview on my se600, i get these random lines in the preview sometimes. However when i get to actual embroidering the image, these lines dont appear on the actual work and it comes out fine. Any idea why this happens? I confirmed in using correct files and everything. Thank you!
Just purchased a Ricoma MT 1501 was wonder your thoughts on using their Chroma Luxe program or Hatch? Any help would be grateful.
Hatch works with everything...I have no idea about the Chroma Luxe program
What's the difference between hatch and wilcom? I know hatch is made by them but what is the major difference between those 2? :)
Wilcom is the commercial level of the software and is way more expensive. Hatch 2 is just as powerful, but has less options. both are fantastic.
Hi Sue. Thankyou so much for this video. I made a circle on Hatch and when I embroidered it on SE 400 machine it turned into an oval. Please help
the reason for this is pulll compensation - the amount that the thread pulls the fabric when you are stitching. In every design, you have to account for pull compensation. If you create more of an oval in hatch, you will stitch out a circle. try it :)
Thanks so much for replying. I keep my settings as :-
Spacing- 0.40mm
Length- 4.00 mm
Is this ok??
you should probably leave the settings at default. It's more about the shape you design than the settings. there is going to be pull compensation on everything you stitch! It's one of the "rules" of embroidery.
Thankyou again.
I think many features have changed in Hatch since recording. I just downloaded today and so much looks different in the video. UPDATE: I figured some of it out, I think the OML settings are already established and I had to learn and adjust. Example, finding the correct pane to lock the image in place...lol. The Outlines and Offsets are now in the Create Layouts section of the toolbar and not the Edit Objects.
Hatch updates and improves frequently, so it's hard to keep up!
:)
Typefaces, not fonts. The style of lettering is "typeface". Font refers to bold, italic, strikethrough, etc...
Thanks, but in embroidery, they are called FONTs...built in fonts as opposed to alphabets. I call it the same as the creators do in the software, and they all have "built in fonts"
@@OMLembroidery Even if it is "industry-wide", it is till INCORRECT. The correct term is typeface. Microsoft changed it to "font" to make buyers believe they were getting more for their money by listing seven typefaces as twenty-eight fonts because it was seven typefaces with three fonts added to each typeface. "Industry-wide" does not mean right.
Sooo....Ok, does it really matter? I will still say FONT because that is what people understand. I am not sure what you have against the word Font, but it really has nothing to do with the video or anything else on my channel. Font is industry wide in embroidery, and I am gonna go with the flow on this one. You can say typface if you want, but I don't think you need to tell me what to say :) Thanks for your opinion though, always appreciated Cassie.
and don't take any of my opinion the wrong way...it just doesn't really matter at all. graphics people say typeface. Embroidery people say FONT. I am an embroidery person. This is my opinion....
So.... you are the Typeface Police. Lighten up. She’s teaching us good stuff.
So helpful. Thank you so much. Amazing!
so for the motif stitch.... just bought v2 but it has by far not as many motif stitch choices as yours, any idea why?
Where can I find picture so I can follow along.?
the picture is an image that is built in to Hatch.
@@OMLembroidery HI Sue, I've just really enjoyed following this tutorial, but in the Hatch 2 version that I downloaded on 31st Dec. 2018, the ladybug image isn't included in the files. However, I didn't let that stop me, I was able to follow with a different image and used the principles of the fills etc you were showing. Just wanted to let you know it isn't there for whatever reason. Thanks for the video - I was feeling a bit overwhelmed with the programme and this has just made perfect sense. Bev
What kind of embroidery machine do you use? I wanted to purchase the Brother SE1900 sewing & embroidery machine. Will Hatch embroidery be compatible with that machine?
I need a sewing and embroidery machine that's easy to use, and compatible with Hatch. Any suggestions?
