I kinda enjoy queen of the damned, the music was well done for the film by singers like David draiman and the late Chester Bennington it also was the final onscreen appearance of the late aaliyah who passed away not long after filming in January 2001 August 21 2001 marked her passing and it was a tragic loss and the films release was pushed back, maybe they released it as a mark of respect to the singer/actress
Norton was a step up from Bana, but he still over-acted the brooding part and, frankly, looked silly during the transformation parts. It wasn't the CGI, it was him before and after the CGI. Jane Krakowski was a great choice for Betty because everyone knows Betty is hotter than Wilma. The movie itself was badly written.
I would argue Maggie’s Rachel Dawes is better in a lot of ways that mostly come down to writing. The original was kinda flaccid as a character, and really just served as a pretty face who got herself in trouble to move the plot along and be saved. The later Rachel has less chemistry with Bruce because she’s clearly moved on (as evidenced by her long-term relationship) and she has a deeper, wittier character. Maggie does a good job representing a fuller person, while Katie does a good job representing the typical comic book love interest.
I am a fan of Queen of the Damned, film than that of The Interview With A Vampire, one, I was, still am, and forever will be much more in favour of Stuart Townsend, version of Lestat, than that of Tom Cruise's, version. :-P .
Hands down by far the best Superman movie ever. The world was not ready for that film when it came out. The score, action, cast. Man of Steel was so realistic if Superman actually existed.
Norton was replaced because he wanted everything his way, practically wanted to take over as script writer and director, and this is a well budgeted franchise with plans of it's own, no room for egomaniacs. Mad respect to Norton as an actor, but he was not a team player, and Ruffalo did just fine. The Hulk is one of the worst installments. Tim Roth was the highlight of that movie.

Roth got to return as an alternate version of the man of steel in the crisis on infinite earths arc in the Arrowverse...he even plays Atom in the Arrowverse as well, a true dc fanboy in my opinion, especially as he made atom fun.
I agree. Joel's portrayal of the Caped Crusader, isn't bad and neither is Val Kilmer in the roll. A lot of people often forget just exactly how much of both a critical and financial bomb Batman Returns really was. After even darker tone than the original 1989 film. Val Kilmer did his best with the role, but sadly while I think he plays a decent Batman, he wasn't a good Bruce Wayne. This problem was then flipped around with Batman and Robin with Clooney in the role. He played a good Beuce, but not a great Batman.
I will always love batman forever and batman and robin lol i watched them so much as a kid ig its just nostalgic for me even tho majority do not like them
And for the best considering how criticized Matthew Broderick, Rubert Everett and Michelle Trachtenberg were for their performances as Inspector Gadget, Dr. Claw and Penny.
No mention of Maria Bello replacing Rachel Weisz as Evelyn "Evie" Carnahan O'Connell. Maria is a talented actress, but her English accent was wildly inconsistent, and she had no chemistry with Brendan Fraser's Rick (her onscreen husband).
I fully disagree about Maggie Gyllenhaal being a downgrade over Katie Holmes as Rachel Dawes. Bale and Holmes’s relationship was by far the weakest element in Batman Begins. I didn’t buy them as childhood friends turned lovers at all. Gyllenhaal had much more believable and tangible connection with Bale in the Dark Knight.
Edward Norton was not hired back as Bruce Banner because he was a pain to work with. While filming Hulk he kept complaining about the script and the directing. He constantly kept rewriting the script to his liking.
6:33 The Scoob! movie would've been better if Matthew Lilliard, Grey Delisle, Frank Welker, etc. were voicing Shaggy Rogers, Daphne Blake, Velma Dinkley, Fred Jones, etc. Dynomutt and the Blue Falcon had their original personalties instead of having them switched, the movie was a tribute to Scooby Doo, Where Are You? etc. 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
Queen of the Damned is actually the third book in the series (or is it the fourth after The Vampire Armand?). In theory you shouldn't have to read the first book as it's from Louis' perspective with Lestat as the big bad, and the second book is basically Lestat's backstory from Lestat's perspective. Both books have a sense of mystery about the origin of vampirekind (although IIRC Lestat doesn't really care much, it's been a while since I read them), and QoD answers a question which probably was best left unanswered. In short, Interview with the Vampire was a better movie and Queen of the Damned sucked as an adaptation by any metric and the book was better.
19:06, I think that The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas is meant to be a Prequel to the first Film, which pretty much explains the casting for the Film, since I suppose its meant to take place 5 or 10 Years before the Events of the 1st Flintstones Film.
Katie Holmes was an absolute idiot for turning down the Dark Knight all because she didnt want to die in the movie. I bet she watched the You know where I got my scars scene and wished she had stayed in the role being face to face with Heath Ledger giving his greatest performance ever. She missed out on one of the best scenes in film history hands down.
@@jamiethal1319 That makes that decision even more idiotic. A top 5 action movie of all time and she was fantastic in Batman Begins as well which makes it even worse. I dont care what the reasoning was she missed out. Nothing she did after came even close to as iconic and critically acclaimed as The Dark Knight. Seeing how successful that movie was if I were her I would have fired my agent and dumped Tom Cruise. I suppose nobody really knows the real reason she didnt reprise the role. Obviously if she got fired or something unpleasant happened behind the scenes it would be different. But from what I understand the role was hers and she let it go. Thats the kind of decision seeing how it turned out that makes you mourn over a bad decision in your career,
I wouldn't consider the Cyclops change a "recasting" in the way a lot of these are. The new Cyclops was part of the reboot universe established in First Class. If it's the case that he was recast in the way it's framed here, everyone in that franchise that appeared in the original movies was recast.
If there's ever a legitimate clause or reason for using an actor's face and voice with deepfake or a.i. is when the actor can't/won't reprise the role for the sequels because of other job commitments, falling out with the cast or director, or unexpected death of the actor, so long as they or their family get paid residuals for using their likeness.
Who are some actors that you would have put in these roles instead?
Elizabeth Sue replaced the other actress who played as Jennifer in back to the future 2 &3
For the Dark Knight Maggie Gyllenhaal was a much needed replacement from that plank of wood Katie Holmes

that is a sad rumor, the cruise interview was after shooting and while they waited for release, it was dated during Post Production and made a fact by Noobs who couldn't be bothered to look up the dates and are stupid in Math
Just Hugo Weaving absence’s should have been a big no no for Matrix 4
Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk was amazing! How dare you!
Norton is just hands down a way better & more versatile actor than Ruffalo. His talents would’ve been wasted on all those Hulk roles.
I kinda enjoy queen of the damned, the music was well done for the film by singers like David draiman and the late Chester Bennington it also was the final onscreen appearance of the late aaliyah who passed away not long after filming in January 2001
August 21 2001 marked her passing and it was a tragic loss and the films release was pushed back, maybe they released it as a mark of respect to the singer/actress
You had me right up until you slagged my boy Mark Ruffalo. His Banner is the best there has been so far. How dare.
You must not really read Hulk comics, Ruffalo is much better, and I am a big fan of Norton!
Queen of the damned was so bad ass I loved it
Norton was a step up from Bana, but he still over-acted the brooding part and, frankly, looked silly during the transformation parts.
Still love the movies, but Katie > Maggie.
The problem I have is casting a new actress when they just kill her off later in the film.
I am a fan of Queen of the Damned, film than that of The Interview With A Vampire, one, I was, still am, and forever will be much more in favour of Stuart Townsend, version of Lestat, than that of Tom Cruise's, version. :-P .
Man of Steel was a great movie and a breath of fresh air.
Hands down by far the best Superman movie ever. The world was not ready for that film when it came out. The score, action, cast. Man of Steel was so realistic if Superman actually existed.
Michael Shannon was a great Zod.
We have seen different DC Characters being potrayed by different people
no terrible writing. Cavil could have been a good superman
@@Revkor That's Hollywood Life, buddy
Norton was replaced because he wanted everything his way, practically wanted to take over as script writer and director, and this is a well budgeted franchise with plans of it's own, no room for egomaniacs. Mad respect to Norton as an actor, but he was not a team player, and Ruffalo did just fine. The Hulk is one of the worst installments. Tim Roth was the highlight of that movie.
Val Kilmer batman died because of the extra long trailer preview that basically told you the entire movie! I remember saying afterwards wow "I saved myself a few dollars, I think we just watched the entire movie." people never blame the studio. Studio wanted more "each sold separately" WB doesn't know what they have, shows now with dcu
Last one is totally wrong. Ruffalo is the best hulk so far
sorry man, i think you missed on the superman one...Cavil has replaced Reeve as the man of steel, especially in the last two years. The movie ruined the actor in this regard.
Hearing that Lilard still voices Shaggy is such great news
7:28 "Lillard has sinced resumed voicing Shaggy in all other Scooby Doo projects." I see what you did there.
FoX-Men First Class was making JLaw character too important. 🐂💩, Plus Rebecca Romijn was on point
cyclops was not recast..its a whole other universe. And ruffalo and cavil where great as Banner/Hulk and Superman
The poor Home Alone franchise.
The actor that played the stat in Queen of the Damned was horrible, but Aaliyah as Akasha was Amazing. Don't disrespect the entire movie because she did amazing
6:12, First of all, I never had a problem with SCOOB! at all.
2nd, Shaggy, Scooby-Doo, Scrappy-Doo and the rest of Mystery Inc. have been potrayed by different Actors and Actresses for nearly 55 Years when you think about.
So hating the Voice Cast behind SCOOB! is kind of pointless.
Just like hating Tommy Lee Jones two-face, terminator 3, mortal kombat annihilation, George of the jungle, the flintstones in viva Rock Vegas, terminator genesis and x-men apocalypse. He's ignorant like everyone else.
@@K-dawg26 True
You forgot Supergirl.
I wanna know what you're smoking cuz mark ruffalo is without a doubt the best Bruce banner we've ever had
i don't know what people and criticzs are thinking but queen of the damned was a great movie.
Raise your hand if you didn’t even know there _was_ a George of the Jungle 2. 🙋🏾♂️
More to the point, Brendan Fraser was replaced by Christopher WHO?
22:38 this is the best recast of Hulk actor
cavil is the best thing ever happened to superman
MK annihilation has GOOD costumes, James Remar as Raiden has his moments.
Uh, no Mark Ruffalo was much better than Edward Norton--Period!
Roth got to return as an alternate version of the man of steel in the crisis on infinite earths arc in the Arrowverse...he even plays Atom in the Arrowverse as well, a true dc fanboy in my opinion, especially as he made atom fun.
Routh, not Roth.
Hey, I liked Batman 3 and all the other cheesy ones. They reminded me of the campy TV series.
I will always love batman forever and batman and robin lol i watched them so much as a kid ig its just nostalgic for me even tho majority do not like them
same
Do not forget the entire Heffley family as well as Rowley in Diary of a Wimpy Kid The Long Haul
Actually, we SHOULD FORGET that recasting.
@@hunterolaughlin why
@@KathNielandWWEfan2006 Because of how hated Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul is.
@@hunterolaughlin yeah
It makes more sense if they only recast the kids.
Everyone got replaced in Inspector Gadget 2
And for the best considering how criticized Matthew Broderick, Rubert Everett and Michelle Trachtenberg were for their performances as Inspector Gadget, Dr. Claw and Penny.
I liked all the hulks but the first 2 were best. I loved Cavill as Sup. I think some had a hard time with the movie with Ralph.
Gyllenhaal had much more believable and tangible connection with Bale in the Dark Knight.
nope
I totally agree
Matthew Lillard is great but they never made the Shaggy's haircut right on that live action movie
Edward Norton was not hired back as Bruce Banner because he was a pain to work with. While filming Hulk he kept complaining about the script and the directing. He constantly kept rewriting the script to his liking.
Ed nortons hulk for the modern day was the best by far his hulk was ripped and menacing for sure… the others were good too but his is the one to beat.
Batman Forever is underrated for sure. I liked Val Kilmer as Batman and Bruce Wayne.
6:33 The Scoob! movie would've been better if Matthew Lilliard, Grey Delisle, Frank Welker, etc. were voicing Shaggy Rogers, Daphne Blake, Velma Dinkley, Fred Jones, etc. Dynomutt and the Blue Falcon had their original personalties instead of having them switched, the movie was a tribute to Scooby Doo, Where Are You? etc. 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
Ruffalo did a good job, but it didn't help that Edward Norton is just straight up a better actor.
Most of the time it was not really the actors fault.
The one thing Viva Rock Vegas got right was to cast a Berry that is better looking than Wilma, something they failed to do in the first. 20:03
No wonder I didn’t understand Queen of the Damned, it was a sequel and I never saw the previous movie as a kid.
Yes it is.
@@K-dawg26 I'm glad that you agree with me
i agree
@@marlonclark-pp9wg Its the whole point
@@thefantasticretroreviewer3941 what's the whole point?
Lillard is just so perfect as Shaggy. While the movie is dark, Cavil nailed Superman. When he was allowed to, he oozed charm.
Tom Cruise didn’t want her to do it.
Better than Batman returns. Ebert was way off on that one.
IIRC Ebert got on his high horse over Batman Returns being too violent. Either way, it's clear his taste in superhero movies suck.
Matthew Lillard is an absolute fantastic Shaggy.
Henry Cavill is a great superman
I saw Flintstones Vive Rock Vegas long before the original and I still like watching it to this day.
"And audiences should demand [Queen of the Damned] be buried" and here I am in 2024, this very moment jamming out to its soundtrack
You didn't mention Silence of the Lambs, Julianne Moore replaced Jodie Foster, the second one was ok.
