Geely and most of the Chinese car brands in the Philippines dont offer volume seller models in the segments of subcompact sedan, MPV, Ladder Frame SUVs, pick-up trucks and vans. Even the unpopular Yaris Cross almost single handedly outsold the entire Geely line-up in 2023😂.

The coolrays doors exterior panels are more rigid and stiffer than the Fortuner. Try nyo. I have a parking buddy na naka fortuner, ang lambot ng body panels nya compared sa coolray.
Why is it not yet launched in the Philippines? There are so many other new launches here - Kia sonet, Toyota Yaris Cross, Mitsubishi XForce... But one of the most attractive car is not yet arrived! You can get it in Cambodia, Russia, Saudi Arabia - even in Chile! But not in the Philippines? Very sad...

Been driving my GCR SE for almost 2 years now w/ 35K kms. in the ODO (about 54Kms daily drive from Binan to Pasig). No major mechanical problems encountered so far...only minor ones like rear right power window failure w/c was corrected by doing a reset, one of the USB port at the front left has no power & according to casa, MMI needs to be replaced (under warranty). After sales will still be the challenge for Geely & parts availability. I'm sure this new model has a lot of upgrades including probably a 360 dashcam recording & vents at the rear seats,

In PH right now for a month vacation. Rented an automatic 2023 Geely coolray. From long distances to driving up a mountain. The car PULLS. And overtakes easily. Comfy silent drive packed with tech. It went up a steep mountain roads like its nothing. And in sportsmode makes overtaking a breeze. (In PH you have to overtake else you will take forever following a slower vehicle or truck. So far that 1.5 turbocharged engine seems to be good The Geely is like half a million php cheaper than a japanese equivalent (example the nissan xtrail got 360 cameras but still missing what tech the Geely coolray has) And has everything. From sunroof, 360 camera, reversing camera, overtake camera, blind spot sensor, very poky engine on sports mode, turbo, very quiet inside too, you cannot hear the engine. Flappy paddle gear box and can go full auto as well. I would say, if the car can withstand usual asian uses without issues then it is a great car. It still needs to be road tested for me. But right now, it seems like a great car at 1mil php. With the promo price. Then again the rented geely I drove only has 19,000 km. Thats like 11,800 miles. In comparison I have a 2010 Ford focus in the UK at 141,000 Miles. If the geely coolray Engine can survive even 70k miles with all its tech. Then yes its gonna be a good car for sure. But thats the thing, in PH cars usually live their life for yearsssss. Like yearsssss. And the most important thing is the Engine. It has to survive and has to be reliable. Thats is why most people prefer going for japanese cars.
Powerful small cycliner engine like these are usually unreliable due to its turbo. Theres a reason why the toyotas been underpowered but unkillable engines.

That is 227,000 km. And it's a 1.5L engine. To prove reliability, someone has to rack more mileage on a car. Or join Dakar Rally with it, which is what ford, Toyota, Nissan, mitsubishi are known for to test their cars. To further improve reliability.

Almost one year na rin dito yung bagong Geely Coolray. Medyo mahal na sya ngayon halos nasa 1.42Mphp para sa Sport from the 2020 model na 990kphp Sport din without tax. Pansin ko lang review, hindi power tailgate and hindi din black lining yung ceiling sa loob. Baka iba lang talaga yung trim para dito sa Qatar.
Have you seen the price of the coolray compared to the likes of the honda HRV? This is coming from someone who is currently driving a 2nd gen HRV. Geely is a market disruptor that puts Japanese traditional brands to up their game especially in terms of pricing.
I can tell you don't own a coolray hahaha the 3cylinder engine doesn't vibrate like a diesel, on idle especially on a coldstart if you really pay attention to it , you do notice a slight vibration but once you drive it its just as smooth as a 4cylinder

There is a 360 degree DVR on the current unit tho. You just need an SD card to activate it

I disagree. The coolrays 3 cylinder is smooth. Even smoother than most 4 cylinders out there. The HRVs engine shakes more than the coolray's.
