Funny to come across your channel, my grandparents lived in Two Egg 30 years ago when I was a kid. I used to go to the little store and buy 1 cent candies. I lived nearby in Malone at the time. Now id love to live in Appalach, and get out out of cold Indiana.
Hi Bonnie, thanks for the nice words! Mr. Dale went to school at Malone and wound up in Indiana for a time too but managed to escape back to warmer weather!
Good video. Remember stopping to eat in or near Apalachicola many years ago at a very good seafood restaurant. Name of the place may have been "Bay City Lodge". Doesn't seem to be there any more. At the time it was something of a landmark (would have been around 1959). With all the interest in environmental responsibility, seems that maintaining water flow for downstream communities and fisheries should have precedence over Atlanta's urban sprawl.
The Bay City Lodge is still around! Their website is www.baycitylodge.com. It is rare for an Old Florida place to have hung on that long, but they are still churning along. I agree with you about the water flow, but the political power of a city the size of metro Atlanta overwhelms anything in its path.
@@TwoEggTV Thank you for the link to Bay City Lodge. New building is similar to the old one and probably offers the same atmosphere. Will definitely visit them next time we are down that way.
Are there any picture of the large old homes being moved? I would love to see how they did it. I heard some homes were moved from Port St Joe long ago.
No, most of the homes moved from St. Joseph were destroyed in a fire in the late 1800s. There are only a couple still left. According to the records, only a few were moved in their entirety. In other cases, materials were salvaged. The camera had not yet been invented at the time.
It plays fine for us and has been viewed 6,500 times with no other complaints. I'm not sure what probably you had, but make sure that your playback is set for stereo.
I spent a career in news and now do documentaries for fun. We put short form material on RUclips but our main effort is producing 30-60 minute history and travel documentaries for our Roku channel and for distribution. It is coming along nicely.
My Dad lived there from 1904 to 1912 he loved it.😘
Oh wow, very cool.
My brother restored the grady building.
I stayed in the Bowery Inn this past April . Enjoyed the city
We love Apalachicola. It is a great city.
@@TwoEggTV I’m coming through the area just after Christmas. Will be looking for some of the roads and markers along the way. ❤️
@@ecc5119 We will be posting a story before then about the Chipley area's new interpretive signs. I think you will like them.

EE Callaway explaining the Garden of Eden in Florida is a great book and there are interviews on YT ❤
Yes, we have the film of his extended interviews that we will use sometime this year.
My Dad, Herbert Duggar, did the restoration work on The Grady Market. He was a very talented man.
That is very cool! He did a beautiful job with it. It is such a treasure to the riverfront area.
my left ear LOVED this video
It is in stereo. You just have to place your device in stereo mode.
