I've had this folder of answers on my desktop since part 1 of the episode and went through it yesterday hoping I'd have enough footage. It was crazy how emotional I got with certain answers.. I forgot I was the camera-woman for some parts and found myself nodding my head or saying "mmhmm" as if it was my first time hearing the answers. A few times I responded out loud exactly what I responded while I was filming. I hope you're all doing well and staying safe. I looooove you all!!! #BeKind

I met my boyfriends parents for the first time and as we spoke they asked me what I did in my spare time except from uni and I said “I just work in a cafe.” A lady on the table next to us interrupted and said “Honey, you don’t just do anything. I lost my husband a few years ago and the only company I get is from getting a tea at my local cafe. You could be changing someone’s world working in that cafe. You don’t JUST do anything” I’ve never forgotten that statement and I speak a lot more highly of myself since

What she said was true too. I have a very dark day a few months ago and I walked to the local cafe near my apartment and this girl smiled at me and told me she gave me an extra whipped cream because she noticed how much I love it. It seriously made me cry and I have faith in myself from that day on and spreader happiness even when I don't have any on myself.

When I was 21 my wife passed away from Kidney Failure . Everyday before id see her , I would sit in the hospital praying and crying to God to save her. On one of those days , I was in the front of the hospital and this little blind child no more then 5 with her mom & dad alongside her , heard me crying. She stopped her dad and walked up to me while i tried to wipe the tears from my eyes and i tried to smile . i noticed she couldn’t see . She said “ i dont know why youre crying sir, but i can feel your pain and I want you to know it will be okay one day .crying makes you beautiful .” As a man , ive never had someone call me beautiful but a child at my lowest point no less . Now, i have a daughter, 5 years later And even tho My wife is gone. ill never forget that beautiful little girl.

I love how everyone has these emotional encounters with strangers, but all I can think about is the one time a little girl pointed the middle finger at me for a whole minute while I just stood there confused.

I understand,most experiences I have with strangers are negative ones, the earliest one I can recall was the time I was in a grocery store that had one of those 25 cent horses you can ride on for a bit. So I was playing there when this girl out of nowhere jumps up the horse while I was about to go on it,but I figure no problem now I can try to make a friend,so I started talking to her while she was giving me this death glare,and at some point she just said “you’re disgusting”. No reason,out of nowhere , I wasn’t telling her to get off it, I just wanted to make a friend.
I ran off and cried.
I honestly think that set the standard of how I was to be treated for the rest of my life.

I took the girl to the Bahamas to swim with sharks. Won a tinder competition and met her a year earlier. I still remember her.
An elderly man paid for my food in a Denny's once because we were both eating alone on Christmas. He never said a word. He finished and then left. The waitress told me he paid for me and I cried. I didn't feel so alone anymore.
I also remember the police officer holding me when they took my siblings and I away from my abusive parents. I was only two but I remember giving me a big hug and saying "I've got you now. I hope you do big things someday."
This warms my heart. I hope life treats you kindly

I’ve come to the conclusion that at the end of the day, everyone just wants to feel loved and accepted for who they are. I think that’s a huge thing that we all have in common despite our many differences.

We can talk about people wanting to change, but even then... When that change has been made, they just want to be accepted, right?
My absolute favourite thing to say, especially to the people who struggle is this:
"We all have two things that are the same as everyone else... We are human and we share this world."
And really, that's how I truly feel. We are all deserving of love and to feel like we belong. We can share our differences and learn as well as remind everyone that...

I was laughing with a friend in a MacDonalds in the 80's... a very sad older man looked at as and sighed. "It's nice to hear laughter in this world." We looked at him like he was some weird old psycho... but I still remember him.... and I understand him now.
That's fucked. Respect elders. We will be like them one day. We have no idea the things theyve been through.

I was probably about 10 years old, when I stood by a pedestrian crosswalk, waiting for the light to go green. 2 young men were beside me. One of them wanted to cross the street by red, but his friend held him back by his shoulder and said: 'Bro, there is a little girl next to us. Don't walk.'
- the little girl was me. I have never forgotten about him and what kind of an idol he was, by doing that. I am greatful for the fact that he cared to set a good example. Thank you

Great story. A perfect example of the “It takes a village to raise a child” proverb.
I fell in love with a stranger. Last year, I was on a flight home for Christmas and I started to feel really anxious and sick, so the flight attendant suggested I go sit in the back by the restrooms. While standing there at some point I noticed this cute guy that seemed to be having a panic attack. So I asked him if he was ok and he told me about his fear of flying. He was really afraid we were gonna crash and I told him that even if we were to crash we would never feel any pain because we would die on impact. He started laughing and we ended up talking for over 4 hours. For 4 hours we just stood there and talked about everything. At some point I started to feel overwhelmed again, so he took my hand and suggested that we arm wrestle. I realized he was doing this to distract me, and it worked. I ended up feeling better and to this day I knew it was fate that brought us there. It’s like the Universe/God knew what we needed at the time. You know when you meet someone and it’s like there’s this instant click or connection and even though you know this is a stranger, you can’t help feel like you’ve known them your whole life? Well this was that. The sad part of this story is that we never got to exchange any contact information because we were asked to return to our seats. I hoped to see him after the flight but I never ended up seeing him again. All I know is that his name is Luca, he’s Italian, born in Switzerland somewhere near Geneva, works at McDonalds and has dreams of becoming a chef. So Luca, if you ever see this, thank you and I hope someday the Universe brings us together again.

When I was about 23 years old, I was waiting at a bus stop when a boy about 15 years old showed up. While we were standing there waiting for the bus, I asked him why he wasn’t in school because it was a weekday. He told me he had decided to ditch school that day. I thought about it for a minute and then said to him “well, I never ditched a single day in high school, I really wish I had at least once. I was a total nerd and I would never have done anything like that. But then again, my brothers and sisters and I all went to school every day and we got the best education my parents’ tax dollars could buy. We are all well educated and have good jobs so I have no regrets.“ We stood there silently for another couple minutes and then he suddenly started walking away. I asked where he was going, wasn’t he waiting for the bus? He said “I have to get back to school.“ I think about him occasionally and hope I’m the stranger he can’t forget. I hope he got a good education and is having a wonderful life.

Thank you for your kind remark! Nothing I said to him was calculated, they were just words I spewed out at the time without much forethought. So they were all completely true. I really do wish I had ditched once, I think I’m the only senior who actually showed up at school on “senior ditch day.”

I was crying in the bathroom at school once and there was a girl who hugged me and said she would skip class to make sure I was okay and she was really really kind. I recognise most people at school but I’d never seen her before and never saw her again.

A guy on the bus today literally whispered "sit here" as i walked on the bus. Was slightly odd until i realised there was a bunch of thug looking guys at the back. He got off the next stop and probably saved me so much hassle. Thankyou good men of the world!!

@@annehedonia156 one of my favorite moments in life was at an anime convention. I hung out with this girl I met there the whole day, because my friends were kinda being big ashholes to me, and even though we had different lifestyles, still enjoyed hanging out with her more than my so called friends who judged me later for it. But I was cosplaying so I was more out of my own character and into another. That's something I think really helped to free me of my shell.

I have, I think I meet a stranger I don’t like on a daily
I went out clubbing one night with my sister in 2019. We sat at McDonald's afterwards around 2am at night. As I was eating my sister was inside with her friend taking their time. And i was outside eating...
There was a stranger sitting by himself. He was dressed a daggy and dull. I'm not gonna lie he looked homeless. And so I asked if I could sit with him for a conversation. He said yes.
So I sat down and I said, "hello my name is Caroline".
He said, "My name is Aldwin"... in his French accent and shook my hand.
He had dred locks. Brown skin. And a lovely smile. We had the besssttttt conversation. Til my sister came out and said that we were going home. I said goodbye to him and he asked me before I left "Can I have your drink". That broke my heart.....
I didn't want to go I felt bad for him I just wanted to keep talking to him he was so friendly.....
And so I told my sister to go home I'm gonna stay with this dude. In a good way tho I wasn't looking for anything from him but a conversation.
And so she left. And i ran 2 whole blocks to catch up to him. Hahaha I was like yelling, "ALLLDWWIINNNNNNNN". But he had his earphones in hahahaha.
So when I caught up to him I grabbed his arm and he absolutely shit himself hahahahaha I just started laughing so hard hahahaha I was so outta breath.
He just looked so confused hahahahaha I was like "I just ..... *breathe* ran 2 whole blocks *breathe* to catch up to you *breathe*
He was shocked.. ..
And he started laughing as well asking me, "wtf.... I thought you left with your sister"....
I said "No I wanna talk to you... do you have anything to do right now??"....
He said he was free so we stayed up til 7am in the morning I had to catch the bus home because i missed the ride with my sister but he sat with me as I was falling asleep at the bus stop.
The best conversation I ever had was with that man. Much love Aldwin.
Edit. I keep in touch with him on messenger. He is now safe in France. And in lock down because of the virus.

When I was working at a hospital, I met a patient and it came up that I was turning 25 that week. He was talking about how wonderful it was, and I just said that I resented that I was going to be that old and that I wasn’t excited for my birthday. With tears in his eyes, he told me to never regret a birthday because each year older you are is another year of life you were given. He told me he had cancer and he would give anything to get to celebrate another birthday.
I’m now 30 and have never looked at getting older the same.
I'm just about to turn 25 and I have to admit am feeling pretty down about it. Thanks for your comment/ perspective this helped a lot

One stranger I will never forget was a women who was dressed nicely and had a suitcase and I asked her why she has a suitcase and she said that she was on her way to suing the government because she was a spy and they left her in Afghanistan to die. She got really emotional and i could tell she was telling the truth

A stranger I will always remember was when I was cashiering during this pandemic and this girl asked "what's your favorite candy bar I want something to try" I told her my fav and then she purposely left the candy bar after she paid for it and told me to keep it

When i was small i met this kid who wasnt born with hands, he apparently never made friends because other kids thought he was weird, i decided to play with him and he was the sweetest person in the world and he smiled and said he wanted to stay at the playground. I hope hes doing alright these days, this was the only time i saw him.
I'm certain he remembers you. You probably made his day, week, month even for playing with him. I know I remember the kids that would come sit with me at lunch so I wasn't alone at school. Even if we didn't talk, it felt nice to not have people staring at you for being a loner
i think as children, our innocence drives us to care for people in such a pure and genuine way. that seemingly small gesture probably made him very happy. :)
When I was kid we went to my grandparents house on my dad's side, and I met a kid that played with me, his dad is a carpenter on my grandparents house that time, so we played without actually introducing ourselves to each other, then the next day I was bullied by another kid bigger than me, he threw a tire at me , I was about to cry , because I'm wimpy and it actually hurts alot, but the kid I met protected me, I hope he's doing okay now too
@CherryCola when you're a kid watching all the other kids playing together but you're the only one that is excluded .. then its definitely not cool to be a loner.
When i was in high school my best friend and I skipped class. We were going to our friend house. She kept a lot of change in her console and at a red light she saw a homeless man panhandling for change. I had not even noticed him as I was looking out the opposite window. He came over and she had me give him all of the money in the console. He was a very kind older man. He had wise eyes. He said “God bless you” to us. It was so sincere how he said it, like we needed to hear it. I’m not really religious, especially wasn’t at my age then. We did not move immediately when the light turned green because giving the money to the man delayed us driving off. Immediately as he left, there was a bad car accident where a car to the right went across all lanes to the left and hit oncoming traffic repeatedly driving into them at the opposite light. We were next to the car. I would have been injured or killed, and most likely so would my best friend. I have never forgotten him, and it has been at least 7 years since. I think about it every time I go past that light. Sometimes I look for him. I haven’t seen him since. We were in the wrong place at the right time, and with her kindness and him being there it made all of the difference.

I remember a time like 10 years ago when I was sitting in a cab on my way home from school. Like a normal teenager, I was depressed because of how uneventful and lonely my days were and that day was no different. Then the cab was stopped by the traffic lights and that's when a random, extremely attractive guy standing on the side walk started making funny faces at me, jokingly imitating my grumpy expression to make me smile. The lights eventually turned green and we drove off, leaving him there and I blushed all the way back home. I'll never forget him because he made me smile for no reason and he gave me the attention that I so needed for reasons I didn't even know. I just realized that every time I'm going through something emotionally painful, my mind reverts back to that moment and I immediately feel better. So a complete stranger that I just happened to cross paths with, so effortlessly and suddenly created a memory in my mind that is a saving grace for me in my hardest times. Bless his soul wherever he is.

When I was walking in the streets of Bern, Switzerland I saw a suspicious looking man walking towards my direction. He was about to light a cigarette when suddenly he grabbed me by the collar. At that moment I thought I was getting kidnapped. Then a tram came rushing by. It took me a moment to realise but then it hit me, he had saved my life. I thanked him, he nodded and continued walking. I never saw him again.
By the small chance that the person that saved me is reading this I would just like to say thank you.

My dad and I were riding out in Arizona and he wrecked really bad, broken hip, ribs, punctured lung, and knocked out. We were pretty much stranded in the desert and my dad had no way of contacting the person we were staying with. Then some guy in a Jeep came out of no where and took him home as I followed. I was only 12 at the time and he saved our ass. He even took me back later to go get my dads bike. Looking back years later I realize how lucky we actually were, thank you sir.
Life is temporary. After death is the judgement and we are all guilty even the “good people.” But Jesus paid the price and conquered he’ll and death in only three days so now we don’t have to die but instead we have God’s promise that He will return creation back to how it was but only the people who accept Christ will experience life.

I was recently out riding dirt bikes and had an awful crash myself. I tore several tendons in my leg, shattered my leg bones, and displaced my knee. Similarly, we were basically stranded, I couldn't sit or walk. We ran into a couple from Arizona who carried me into their car and got me to the hospital. I know I would've been out there just getting worse if they hadn't found me. I'll never forget their kindness and support that day.
Jan Jameson I had a bad wreck by myself and I broke my wrist. I couldn’t pull in the clutch bc of the pain so I was stuck and I got picked up in a side by side by random strangers. This was in Arizona, kinda by the place where I crashed with my dad. People I’m Arizona are way cool
The one stranger I remember is a young man I met a few years ago. I'd seen a grey kitten on the side of the road as I was driving home. I began to cry, got home, and turned around. By the time I got back, a kid who was maybe 17 had rescued the kitten from the middle of the road and had laid her out on the lawn of a nursing home. The kitten was very badly injured, and it's too upsetting to say in what way. It was late on a weekend, and we googled and called veterinarians desperately. By the time we'd found an emergency vet that was open, it was too late. We both sat with the kitten and pet her while she passed. She did not die alone. We cried together. I wish I'd hugged him. I wish I'd asked his name. I pass that lawn every day, and I remember every day. It was so traumatic and horrifying that I wish I could forget. But that would mean forgetting the stranger. And I don't want to. He was one of the kindest human beings I have ever had the honor of crossing paths with.

I remember my mama once told me that the strangers you encounter could sometimes be angels, makes sense when someone u never met knows u could really use a hug.

The strange girl who smiled at me:
Since 8 years old I was batteling with depression cause of trauma. Everyday felt dark and I had lots of harmful thoughts. One day, I think I was 12 that time, I was on my way to school. That day I felt especially bad and helpless, thinking about if taking my own life would help. As I was walking - so cought up in my thoughts - a very cute girl passed me with a big smile and just said "Hi!" real loud. My face just responded automatically with a big smile back. She kept smiling but walked on, as if we already knew eachother and she just greeted me. I looked around and noone was there, so she acuatlly greeted me. I don't know why, never saw her before. But that filled my whole day with a happiness and a little pride that I hadn't felt in a long time.
I battled with depression a couple more years until I got professional help. But often when I had suicidal thoughts this random girl pupped up in my head. I've never seen her again and I think I wouldn't recognise her after all these years. But this person unknowingly often held me back from harming myself too much and I'm so thankful to this day!

That's a beautiful story. As a person who used to be in that dark space i know all too well how much that would have picked you up. How cool.
My job is so hectic at the moment and my bosses are slave drivers. I go home unhappy, i wake up unhappy and everything just becomes a huge drag. But sometimes when i return home from work my niece who's 5yrs old will sneak up behind me and try to scare me. It makes me laugh inside cause she tries so hard to be scary but she's too cute haha. But because of that she gives me a boost of happiness and i feel ok again.

I myself have battled with depression when I was younger and have since then recovered. But it's stories like yours that give me my smile. While I'm volunteering at the hospital, walking down the street, at a store, driving, at school, or really just anytime I make eye contact with someone: I smile. And it's not fake either. I'm genuinely happy to see complete strangers, just, alive. I know it sounds weird, but that's just who I am. My dream is that my smile will help at least one person. I don't care who, stranger or friend. I don't care if they remember me. I don't care if I ever find out who. I just want to make them smile.
One stranger I’ll always remember:
I was attending a psychology seminar last semester, I still remember the date November 8,2019. I volunteered to get up on stage, as a form of a demonstration of a specific therapy. The therapist asked me what one issue that if I could change or fix would be. It was then I opened up about my sexual assault when I was younger. For the first time I told my story, to a bunch of strangers. The therapist gave me amazing advice, she told me I was loved and that one day I’ll find the person that will believe me and will not hurt me. But it wasn’t the therapist that made the impact. Some lady from the crowd came up to me after the seminar, I don’t know her name her age or anything about her. But she came up to me and hugged me. She let me cry on her shoulders for almost an hour. She told me that the man who hurt me isn’t the man who will define me. And she said something that I will never forget. She looked at me, wiped my tears and said “ you’re pain, isn’t what makes you strong. You’re past isn’t what makes you strong. What makes you strong, is the fact that today.. today you made a statement. You said that the man who hurt you is no longer the man who will control you. You told your story, and today you gave others the bravery to tell theirs. That’s what makes you strong” and I will never forget her, or What she said. Today I’m a strong advocate for childhood sexual assault and thanks to her, I’m finally starting to love myself and see it wasn’t my fault.

I was on my way home from school (I was in 11th Grade at that time) when an old lady asked me where the place she's going is. After telling her where to go and how to ride to get there, she brought up a conversation that I will never forget. She's actually a former Professor at a University that teaches Physics, and she also became a Nun after being a professor. I ended up walking her home; we had a very deep conversation along the way. I also stayed at her house for like an hour, just talking about random things. In the end, I felt her loneliness and the longingness of having a company. She doesn't have a husband or a child, and her siblings also have their own families to take care of, and she also don't have any pet, but she have plenty of friends but they're far away from where she's living, she only get to visit them if there's an opportunity.
(I didn't mention, while she's asking for directions, she told me that she just went out to see her physician to get her monthly check up for her scoliosis, and was waiting for her brother to take her home because she's not familiar with the place, her brother told her to just ask for directions since he got busy at that time. While I was in her house, she showed me the brace in her body that enables her to stand and walk. The struggle she's feeling is nothing because of her positivity and faith).
She's the most lovely and adorable stranger I met, and I will never forget her.
Btw, we still keep in touch through texting.

One stranger who I still remember was this older guy who I met in a Greyhound terminal. I was 21 years old and taking a three-transfer bus all the way from California to Missouri by myself.
I saw him sitting in the station, drawing in his sketchbook, and I struck up a conversation. He was really friendly - a tattoo artist who showed me his portfolio and his sketches. He told me stories, asked me good questions. We found out that we were waiting for the same bus.
We hung out a long time, sitting on the ground together, and eventually - hours later - our bus came. Since we’d been hanging out for so long, we decided to take some space and sit apart and sort of say bye.
About twelve hours into the bus ride, the driver pulls over in the middle of nowhere. We’re at a strip mall surrounded by endless desert. Everyone gets out to grab a quick snack before we get back on the road.
I’m in a bathroom stall at the end of the strip mall furthest from the bus when I hear the door open and the guy’s voice.
“Rowan?!” he calls. He sounds worried.
“Uh.. yeah?” I answer dubiously.
“Oh thank GOD!” He says. “The bus is about to leave, we have to hurry!”
As I rush out of the bathroom stall, he explains that he - this sweet, dear stranger - had gotten back on the bus as it was about to pull away, noticed I wasn’t on it, loudly held up the entire bus, and then ran through the strip mall to find me. If you’ve ever ridden a Greyhound bus, you surely know what a feat it must be to insist that a driver wait for you while you look for someone.
I was an orphaned twenty-one-year-old in the middle of a vast and largely uninhabited desert. I had no cell phone, no credit card, only about $20 in cash, and everything I owned was on that bus. To be left behind would have left me irreversibly screwed.
He didn’t know any of that. He just knew that he had been given a chance to help someone.
I don’t know what I would’ve done if he hadn’t noticed I was gone (and then also decided to save me)- but god damn, I am still grateful all the time for his surge of care.
That was in 2014. He gave me his email address so that we could be penpals, but I lost it and have never seen him since.

Oh man i took that trip but from missouri to cali on the greyhound and you definitely meet so many strangers youll never forget on a trip like that. I was 18 first time on my own it was crazy. I remember smoking out this lady when we stopped in Oklahoma she came up to me in the bathroom and asked if i had bud i was like yea fuck it im bored why not smoke with someone. After we were done smoking she tells me shes trying to quit her coke addiction and that shes pregnant 😳. That was just 1 of the many stoires i have from that trip.
When I was 10 or 11 me and my little sister walked home from school everyday and we’d always avoid going home to the fighting and drug use going on at my house. So I took here to mcdonalds and places to waste time. And they employees one day we’re getting mad that we were there everyday and never bought food. Little did they now they didn’t know we couldn’t afford anything. And one day they kicked us out and an old lady came up to us and handed us a 50 dollar bill. She said she saw us a lot there not being able to buy anything. And to this day I’m so thankful for her. I could actually get food for my sister ☺️

When i was working in checkout a lady asked me whats the best chocolate
I gave suggestions and she picked out a snickers. I scanned it through and she said keep it. I was having a bad day and that lady through one piece if chocolate made my day. I wanted to cry as i never got such kindness from a stranger. I thanked her over and over agian. I will always remember that kindness.

When i was 11, a friend and I sold homemade lemonade. Some random guy pays the dollar then drives away. He told us to give it to someone who looked like the needed it. We gave it to someone who was walking down the street, and they told us it meant more than we knew. I still wonder what he meant and what was going on with him.

when i was about 11, my sister was at a dentist appointment and there was a starbucks next door. my family was and still lives at the state of poverty, just a lot worse at the time. i really wanted a drink so i could do some homework while my sister got her teeth cleaned and all of that, and my dad asked the barista how much the smallest size was of some frappe i begged for, and it was $4 and he just apologized to me and asked for a water cup. he hugged me and went back into the dentists office while i did my homework. about 10 minutes later, a black lady who had overheard us set a grande frappe on my table and said "i know how it feels to want something as simple as a drink and be unable to get it. enjoy it, be kind, and spread love. i love you, child." and walked away. i have never seen her again, but i think of her all the time. i remember everything from the clothes she was wearing to the curve of her sunglasses, to the jingle of her keys, to the way she held the door for the next 5 people walking in the cafe.
When my grandpa was in the hospital and about to pass away i went to the hospital Chappell, sat down, and just started praying. I remember the first thing i asked for was help with my emotions. Not even 1 minute later, a lady sticks her head around the door frame and said "did you call for help?" Of course me being shy, i said "no i didnt say anything" To this day i wish i would have had a conversation with her. After the incident happened, i went out in the hallway and looked around. The strange thing is that the chappell was down a longer hallway, and nothing else was around it, so there was no other reason to be in that hallway. I honestly think she was an angel.

My dad's teenage years were dark and everything...he walked down the busiest street in the city one night drugged out. He had passed out in the middle of the night right in the middle of the busiest road. These 3 girls show up out of nowhere to bring him to the police station. The police took him home...yada yada...later, he saw the same three in the schoolyard, and they asked if he remembered them. He was not recalling. They told him how they brought him to safety that night. He believes they were angels. I'm currently writing a song about it.

Last year, I was at Chili's for dinner. While we were waiting for a table, a couple came in with their son. He was probably 6-8 years old. He turned to me and immediately started chatting like we were best friends. At one point, he had to go to the bathroom. When he came back he had the biggest smile on his face. "Guess what," he asked me. I smiled and asked him what. "I just peed standing up for the first time!" He was so proud of himself and it warmed my heart. His parents apologized to me but I just smiled and shrugged it off. Then we were called for a table. As I was walking away, he kept waving and calling, "Bye!" I love little kids. ♥️
I was in 1st grade. There was a boy in my class who was always bullied & picked on & nobody liked him. I was the only one who was ever nice to him at that school, I always tried to include him in activities & tried to put a smile on his face. One day after school I was waiting on my parents to pick me up when I saw him with his mom walking up to me. His mom had never met or seen me before, but she said to me “amelia, you are an angel. Thank you.” To this day it always stuck with me & had a huge influence on the way I treated others growing up & it really inspired me to always be kind.

A few years ago my grandma got in a very bad car accident. she was almost declared dead twice but was fortuned enough to live on. She had to spend quite a bit of time in the hospital, tho, and most of it in the ICU, where underage visitors weren’t allowed (I was 16 at the time). After about 3 weeks she got better and was moved to a shared room where I was finally allowed to visit her. Since I wanted to surprise her, I asked my parents to not tell her that I was coming to visit and I walked alone to her room. She shared it with this older lady that I had never seen before in my entire life, but exactly as I was walking into the room, she went “oh, look, Carlotta (that’s my first name) is here!”... I was so confused, because I literally have never seen this woman and she somehow just... knew who I was? Turns out my grandma had not stopped talking about me, my brother and my sister and how she wished she could see us since the moment she was put into that room. Wanna know the best part? This woman was blind. When I asked her how she knew it was me, she told me: “I just knew. Your grandma keeps saying you’re the kind one, and she’s right. I could feel it from the moment you came into the door”. It still shakes me to the core to this day. I have not seen this woman ever again, she was discharged from the hospital the day after. I still remember her as clear as the day, tho. My grandma even exchanged numbers with her, but she never called her or picked up the phone... I hope she’s okay, and if not, that she got to a great place.

I actively try to be that stranger as a hobby. Strolling through crowded areas, with food, water, first aid kit, trash bags, garden tools, grass- and flower seeds, anti-graffiti spray, putty knives, sandpaper, and blanket sized scarfs in my bag. The frigging cliché friendly stranger act to help an eldery person across the street is still needed, you guys. Just because it is a cliché in movies, doesn't mean it is in real life. lol
Anyway, I have difficulties creating strong bonds with people because of my autism, so I try to exchange love in another way. It is both deep and superficial at the same time, hahaha. I can only remember the names and faces of strangers lately

I remember it made me so happy because I was actually feelin pretty down that day from my girlfriend at the time breaking up with me

A couple of months ago i was in a really bad state of mind and just sat at the bus stop crying my heart out and a man asked if he can sit next to me and cry with me. I was a bit thrown off but i just nodded and he started telling me about his failed marriage, drug abuse, losing all his friends due to ptsd... We just sat there, on a wooden bench sobbing and after a while he told me that hes going to kill himself soon. I remember trying to say that life is beautiful, that there are so many things worth living for, but i just opened my mouth and nothing came out.. I was in such a bad place then that i couldnt find any reasons to live. We smoked a cigarette together and after some time i bought him a cab home and told him to take care... I never saw him again but i think about him often. I hate knowing that i couldve done more and i failed

the one person I'll never forget is when I was having a panic attack in an alley while walking home and she came up to me sat next to me and just said "its okay, try to calm down i will walk you home i want u to get there safe" and I bursted into tears and hugged her i remember her smelling like cinnamon and strawberries while hugging her she was beautiful too, I live in a very small city and almost know everybody here but I've never seen her since I hope she's doing okay
One stranger I remember: I was walking back to my seat on an airplane and had to stop to wait for the stewardess cart to move before I could get to my row. Because I was waiting, I was looking around and noticed a girl sitting in a row on her own, hunched over and wiping her eyes. I’ve been on trips where I cried the whole flight and it made me feel so small and alone that nobody even noticed the state I was in. I didn’t even have to think, I instinctually started leaning in to ask if she needed anything. Then I could see she was crying and sat down next to her and held her hand. Normally I would feel so out of place doing that, but her whole body language changed as she squeezed my hand back and held my other hand. Sitting up and looking into my eyes. We ended up sitting like that and talking for a long time. She told me she was traveling to go to her dads funeral and told me what a loving father he was. I shared that I knew any advice from me wouldn’t make her grief go away, but that she doesn’t have to feel alone because I would stay there if she wanted. She was so thankful and kept squeezing my hand. She then told me that she wasn’t really alone because she was pregnant and her eyes lit up. She couldn’t believe that her father would never meet her baby, but knew she wanted to be a parent like he was to her. I made sure she had someone to pick her up and stay with once we landed and then we sat there holding hands. I hope her and her baby are healthy. I believe she is an amazing mother now. It sounds like a cheesy movie scene when I write it out, but it was one of the most raw human and intimate moments of my life.

I was at a store and I my mom was just being rude and yelling at me the whole time (I dont want to self diagnose myself but I have something near ptsd when ppl yell me my emotions get triggered and I feel bad) and I was already having terrible thoughts and that made it worse, then my mom had yelled at me to get something and then I walked to get it and I'm sure my face looked very distressed and then this really tall man could tell I'm guessing and I got in his way then I said I'm sorry and he said "You're ok, dont worry about it, its ok" and was very calm with me and even smiled at me and that made me feel better and my dad is a terrible man and I was also thinking that he was the dad I would want. Ik its dumb but he was really calm and nice to me and I still really appreciate him

A few years ago I was in a night club with some friends. I went to the toilet (it was a mixed bathroom) while my friends were waiting outside. There was a girl, alone, crying in a corner of the bathroom. She couldn't strop crying, so I approached her and asked her if she was okay. She told me she was going through some things, she was there on holidays but she couldn't have fun because she was so sad because of a guy. So I spent probably 10 minutes talking to this girl, trying to make her feel better. She asked me why I was trying to help her, so I told her that I didn't want to leave her alone crying, and she was on holidays in a beautiful place so she should enjoy, go back with her friends and stop thinking about a guy that probably didn't deserve her. She told me that I was so kind and that I literally changed her night. When I left I started looking for my friends in the night club, and a guy came up to me. He said that he saw me in the toilet talking to this girl and he heard our conversation. As he was talking to me, he was searching for something in his pocket. He took out a key chain, it was a "Hand of Fatima". I knew it had a religious meaning but I had no idea what it meant at the time. He explained to me that in his religion, the Hand of Fatima is used for protection, it's the "eye that sees everything" and it's used as a defense against the evil eye. It can be used as an amulet and it will bring you good luck and blessings. Then, he told me "I heard what you said to the girl and I can tell you're a beautiful soul. I want to give you this, it is so special to me. And I want to give it to you because I can feel you're a good person. This will protect you forever and will give you good luck". He just gave it to me and left. We didn't even talk. So I just put the key chain in my bag. The next day I was at home, I wanted to grab something in my bag and saw the key chain, that I completely forgot about. So I grabbed it and put my keys on it. Six or seven years later, I still have it and take it with me every day. I'll never forget this guy.
But i think that protection thing has nothing to do with it ( I am muslim) cuz we believe that God is the protector not the name of the righteous believers may God have mercy on them. But thankyou for talking to that girl ur AMAZING
I do remember a stranger which was a homeless woman I met just couple of days ago during this Corona Crisis we are all going through. (By the way, I am from Germany). This lady asked me for some change, but I didnt take money with me instead I only had my card. So I told her and she asked if I could get something for her. I said, sure, what do you need? And she asked for tomatoes, mozarella cheese and some butter. I was smiling and said I would get it for her. It took a while until I left the supermarket due to the situation. I thought the lady might have thought I just ran off. But I returned to her and gave her the groceries and she smiled and me with a sparkle in the eye. I gently touched her arm and she was so emotional and thankful. I suppose because she gets avoided a lot during these days. She really made my day! In Germany we call guys like you "Ehrenmann"!
So I am 19 and was working a dead end job. I was getting bullied by the employees at this job and just felt very lost and hopeless. My father passed away in 2018 and I was just so sad and needed to get a job that was long lasting with good benefits. Long story short this woman comes in crying she was going through some things and briefly told me what happened and left. She came back the following week and gave me her phone number and she helped me get a job that is very very good. And now that stranger is like a mother figure to me.
That is so nice, sometimes we need to endure some pain to be able to see the benefits at rhe other side.
It goes to show how massively you can impact someone's life by just extending a few moments of your time.

I took the wrong train home. This happened a couple years ago and I was trying to go back home while I was in this secret relationship with my ex, and when I realize I went the other direction I called my ex and told him about it. I had no money and I only had that train ticket, luckily that train guy didnt take my ticket and told me to get off the next stop and just go to the right train. My ex didnt really do anything, he didnt have a car and he also didnt have money, so it was just me. It was kind of stupid of me, tbh, and it was at night as well. This lady, who I met in the train, offered to stay with me because she was afraid that something bad would happened to me if I'm alone. We talked about life and our family (we didnt give each other any personal information dont worry) and little things, and although I'm very shy, she was one of the sweetest people I've ever met. The train came after a long time and I said goodbye to her after I left. I dont know if she still remember me, but thank you miss, I dont know what would I do without you. I hope you're safe and I hope you have a blessed life.

I was playing the piano that's in the Amsterdam Centraal train station, and an Australian guy comes up to me and puts 10 euros on the piano, saying: "go and buy yourself a drink mate!". Still one of the best memories of meeting a stranger I have. I have a couple more, whilst playing behind a 'stationspiano' as we say in the Netherlands, but this is one of the best.

A stranger I remember:
I am from Berlin and after I graduated from high school I went to Australia with my best friend to work and travel. We got there in december and stayed in a hostel, but just before new years eve we decided that we wanted to leave and start traveling with the car.
So we moved out of the hostel the morning before new years eve and bought an air mattress which we planned to blow up at a petrol station. When we got there we noticed that non of the available nozzles of the air pump fit and so we couldn't blow up the mattress.
Keep in mind we had no place to go to since it was NYE so all hostels where fully booked and we didn't know anyone else at the time. So as we sat on the sidewalk not knowing what to do and feeling super stressed about the situation, this old man approached us.
He noticed that we couldn't blow up the mattress and told us that he lived just around the corner and actually had several air pumps at home so if we wanted to we could follow him with our car and blow up the mattress at his house.
At first I felt very unsure about following him cause.. well we all know you shouldn't follow a complete stranger. But I had this gut feeling that he was genuine and so we got into our car and followed him to his house. We drove through his driveway into the back garden, where we saw another old man sitting at a garden table. He introduced us and we found out that it was his husband.
They found a fitting air pump and while the mattress got blown up we sat down with them, drank freshly pressed orange juice and talked about life. It just so happened that they were both from Berlin themselves and used to lived just around the corner from where we are from. We had a super interesting conversation and learned a lot about their story.
And then, once the mattress was blown up, we thanked them for their kindness, said our goodbyes and drove away. We never saw them again nor do we remember their names. But this act of kindness really restored my faith in humanity. I will never forget them.

I met many strangers when I was doing my semester abroad in Korea but I will never forget one old Korean lady that I met on the subway in Seoul. I was talking to my friend in German and this lady suddenly asked us if we were speaking German. We were really surprised that she recognized it even though she couldn't speak the language, and so we continued talking in English. We had such a pleasant conversation. She told us about her job and hobbies and how she was attending an English academy to learn English. At the end before we had to part ways, she told us how happy she was that she had started learning English even at her old age, which made it possible for her to have such beautiful random conversations with foreigners. I felt so happy that I had the chance to talk to such a wonderful person but I also had a feeling of sadness when saying goodbye to her because I knew that I would never see her again.

I remember this time I was just walking near my building with who was my boyfriend at the time, and I saw an old women walking with whom seemed to be her caregiver, friend I don’t know but they were in the same path as we. When this old lady was near us, she stopped and looked at me directly to my eyes. The person next to her didn’t do anything she was just surprised, almost like learning and trying to understand what was going on. Then this old lady smiles and hugged me as if she would be my grandma. She was giving me so much love, so pure. After this, she just smiled at me one more time and walked away. My boyfriend was just as confused as I was. I never saw this lady again.
one stranger i will never forget: i was on a cruise, and i was crying in the bathroom. it was dinner time, so while my family friends were eating dinner, i was balling in the bathroom...and i couldn't stop. the reason for the non stop crying was my relationship with my mom, but it started off with something small: someone saying some stuff about my sister. however, that's not really the important part. this stranger (i believe her name started with a j) came over to me and asked "are you okay?" i didn't even realize anyone else was in the bathroom, but i said "no" because it was obvious that i wasn't okay. she sat me down, and i divulged everything to her. once i got to the part about my unsteady relationship with my mother, she chimed in and began talking about the heartbreaking relationship she has with her own mother. the problems that she faced growing up due to her mother were far more severe than my problems could ever be, but she still listened to every word i said without a string of judgement; she was so comforting and understanding throughout this whole time. after this, she told me how she made the decision, after being physically and emotionally abused by her mother, to move out and start her own life. she is now happier than she has ever been, and she is living the life she has always desired. now if that does not scream a strong, independent woman, then idk what does.
this woman has changed my whole perspective on life, and she genuinely made me realize that everyone is going through their own shit, so NEVER judge someone by their deceiving appearances.

A stranger I met: a nurse in an icu hospital ward who defended my want to lay next to my mom in her bed the night before she’d be coming home for hospice, even though that ward had hours that wouldn’t normally let me stay.
She gave me a few hours of being peacefully with my mom before she went home and friends and family were sharing my moms last hours.
I don’t even know her name but she gave me a lot of closure I didn’t know I needed.

Waiting for a bus, I was looking across the street when a car, a thunderbird, blows a front tire. It immediately pulled into a parking lot of a circle k. A frail looking lady, mid 70s, got out and looked at the tire. She was obviously shaken up but uninjured. She went in the store then a few minutes later came out in a state of distress. Opened the trunk, then grabbed her owners manual. Figuring this frazzled lady was about to change her first tire I ran across the street and asked if she needed some assistance. She started tearing up explaining she asked to use the phone inside. The pay phone had been vandalized. Clerk told her no go across the street. It was about 106°f outside, summer in Phoenix,Az. I told her my name and to go inside where it was cool and I'll come get her when I'm done. Had the tire done about 20mins. I told her I was finished and had to go to catch the next bus. She thanked me and offered to give me a ride, I thanked her and told her not to worry bout it, I was good but had to go as I walked away. Last I heard was , "Here take this". I stopped and saw her holding out some money. I thanked her, then told her just show some kindness to a stranger in distress, help someone you normally wouldn't to pay me for the help. Then sprinted for my bus.

It was summer of 1978. I was about 7 years old, playing along the beach with my older brother in Panama City Beach, Florida.
Our parents had gone up to the hotel room to care for our baby brother. My older brother was several yards away when a strange man approached me.
He complemented me on my swimsuit. “Hi, I like your swimsuit “. I vividly remember he said he had “lost his wallet in the water”... and asked me to help him look for it.
The man, possibly in his early 20s, looked at me and asked, “Where are your parents?”
I pointed to a random couple sitting on the beach and said, “They are right there.” He very slowly turned and walked away... And never saw him again.
As a parent now myself, I look back on that day in horror. And I wonder what he might have done to me had I not had the forethought to lie to him.
I never told anyone about the stranger until I was much older.

I lived in PC in the mid 90’s, and have visited a few times since then, love those white beaches. I got chills when I read your story. What a smart little girl you were to lie to that sicko. So glad you weren’t harmed!
A couple of years ago I was at the store shopping for groceries and a man in his 50s, who seemed like he may be living under harsh conditions, approached me and asked if I could buy him some chocolate. We went to the chocolate aisle and talked while he was choosing.
He was holding a candle and told me he is going to visit his sisters grave. He said she recently died to suicide and then added:
- Life is tough, but we always always have to strive for it. We have to live.

When I was little I wandered away from my mom and was looking for her inside the local Walmart. While looking I turned my head into a clothing aisle and I catch some man farting so loudly I thought his back cracked. I just stared at him and he abruptly turns his head at me and his eyeballs nearly popped out of his head. With his eyes protruding he swiftly wrinkles his face and speed walks away into the clothing rack never to be seen again. As soon as the coast was clear I busted out laughing.
Idk but this made me laugh so much😂😂
A happy story that comes to mind is when I was in middle school some girl randomly told me:
“You look really beautiful”
I’m not sure if her friends just dared her to compliment a random girl or person or whatever. But I still think about it, since I have some insecurities....
A stranger I won’t ever forget :
When I used to be a little girl, we lived in an apartment. My mom would place this table outside our apartment, in the hallway, where in that table me and my best friend would create our fake world for our barbies (dolls) to live in. We always sat there playing and this lovely woman would pass us by and always greet and smile at us. One day she came and asked if I’d be willing to give her one barbie for her measures so that she could make some clothes for her. She said she knew how to make them and I agreed. She told me she’d make this beautiful gown for her and my mind went to a princess gown and I got really excited. After some days, she came with the clothes she had made and handed them to me and asked if I liked them. Of course I told her I loved them but in reality I was disappointed. They were not what I had imagined them to be, big fluffy princess dresses. She had made clothes inspired by our Albanian culture and at the time It didn’t impress me that much. But now, years later, I can say that when I had to give up my toys, my heart ached the most for giving up the clothes she made. They were the most beautiful and most special. I will never forget that kind lady nor the clothes she made for me.
I haven’t heard of her in more than a decade but I hope she is doing good!
I have a story: I was selling cookies for the Girl Scouts, and a man walked by who looked like he could have been homeless. He ended up coming back and giving the other girl and I a dollar bill folded in the shape of a ring. Regardless of whether he was poor or not, he still donated. This just shows that you shouldn’t judge someone based off of what they wear.
I live 15 minutes from Boston and the day the Boston bombing happened me and my 4 friends were shopping at an outdoor mall. Once news broke that there had been a bombing a stranger that worked inside of a mattress store ran out and told me and my friends to hurry inside. The news was reporting that the suspects were on the loose and no one knew if there were more bombs. The stranger locked the stores door and put all of us in the back room and made us call our parents to tell them we were okay. To this day I do not know his name but he was beyond kind and caring for bringing in 5 terrified teens in a moment of uncertainty.
The stranger I remember was some old lady I seen in a hotel where my family was staying. The hotel had all you can eat breakfast and I was around 8 so I got up before anyone brushed my teeth and went to breakfast by myself. I got my food and was looking for a place to sit but then I spotted an elderly old woman with blond hair that’s almost white, piercing blue eyes sitting by herself. For some reason I felt compelled so sit with her so I did. She did not notice me at first but I looked into her eyes and I will never forget what I saw. Those eyes seemed lonely and a bit sad like they’ve lost their spark. I started talking to her and i didn’t expect her to respond to some small black kid who’s baby teeth hasn’t even finished growing or expected her to ask where my parents are but she did. I talked to her so long about life and as much as I could. Slowly the spark in her eyes started to light up as we spoke. We spoke for the duration of lunch and my dad came to find me. I didn’t realize how much time I spent there and said bye to the older woman. She waved back to me and I expected to talk to her the next day. But I never seen her again. It’s strange that she’s the stranger I remember when all I did was have a conversation with her but I still remember her so fondly. My parents always told me to be cautious of strangers but I felt like I’ve known her for a long time.
Maybe it was your granny in a past life
A few years ago I was feeling so bad, I had a lot of dysphoria problems, specially that day. I was alone on the streets and I didn't know who to call or where to go. I sat on a bench, I started feeling so anxious and sad. Then a homeless transgender women sat next to me. She started talking to me about how lovely the day was. At first I didn't want to talk to her (or anybody), but she started pulling scarfs out of her purse saying that she had one that would look better on me than on her. We started talking about colors and how they match with people. She asked me how I was feeling, cause she notice that I was nervous when she approached. I told her that I was better, but that I didn't know where to go next. She encouraged me to call my mom, and I did it. When my mom came to pick me up, she told me that I was going to be fine and then walked away.
I live in a tiny city, but I never saw her again. Every time I see a pink scarf I remember her, that was her favorite one. And I don't believe in angels, but, if someone ask me how is an angel, I would talk about her.

A stranger that I remember:
About 6 years ago I was with my boyfriend at the time, and we were just hanging out in his car deciding on what we should do. I seen on his phone that he had been talking to other girls, cheating on me. After what I just saw I left his car crying, and didn’t even care that I was sobbing walking with so many cars passing by. I needed to just get away. I sat under a tree on a less populated street, and I just crying and overthinking. Then an older guy riding his bike rode passed me, but then turned around to see if I was okay.
I needed to someone to talk to and he genuinely cared, listened and gave me advice. He then asked me if I wanted a soda or water, I told him I was okay. But he still rode his bike to a nearby store and brought me back a water.
I can’t remember his name, but I do remember his bright blue eyes. And he reminded me so much of my uncle. Such a kind soul.
Once a stranger in line behind me paid for my soda when my card got declined, this was like 5 years ago. So when two little boys didn't just have enough money for a few soda bottles in front of me I paid the last fifty cents for them to get them. They thanked politely just as I had done. I hope they remember it just as I have ☺️
When I was around 9 I walked into a McDonalds to order some food while my mom waited outside in the car on the phone. While inside there was an older man in a wheelchair in line in front of me asking me weird questions about my night and general suggestive questions about what I was going to do later on. He tries to grab my arm and tell me to sit to eat with him (I’m politely declining and insisting my mom is outside the whole time). And a lady in her 20s or 30s that worked behind the counter came around and told the man that she would show him to his table, food in hand and stepping between us. Damn near spinning him around herself. She then stayed and asked me about my favorite shows until my food was ready and watch me go outside to my mom. That woman didn’t have to go out of her way but she saw something wrong and did something about it, I really hope she’s doing alright now. Will never forget her
i’ve never been the kind of person who fell in love with everyone talking to them.... in fact I’ve never been in love....
but one day I met a guy in a bus..... honestly- I don’t know how we even started a conversation but we just did. I had a terrible day behind me, I felt down and useless but while we talked all my worries and problems seemed to disappear..... I’ve never met someone who had the same humour as me..... this was the first time....we just talked and laughed.... absolutely nothing else..... no judgment, no embarrassment, just joy and comfort.... we didn’t ask for each other’s names, not even for each other’s age......after he walked out of the bus I knew I had met my soulmate.... I never saw him again....... dear stranger, thank you. I think of you every time I want to bring light into a dark moment.🌙 I hope I am gonna meet you one day.

I just want to share my story about an elderly stranger. This happened when I was 13 years old and I am now 17 but until now, I can still remember every detail.
It was afternoon, almost night and I am at a bbq stall. While waiting for my order to be cooked, a girl in my age came to us. She was straight up rude to the old lady that's been cooking her order and almost emptied the sauce. The lady says nothing then she left and didn't even payed. I was so shocked and I blurted "she's rude." But what shocks me more is the lady's answer.
"Not really, that's our granddaughter. She's Caren, she's kind."
It was so profound that I left the stall crying. Because of that, I aspire to be that lady. To see the good in people despite all the bad things they've done. I want to see the bright side of everyone and everything♡

a stranger that i remember was when i travelled to seattle alone at 19 years old. i was on the space needle but i’m deathly afraid of heights. i was trying really hard to get the courage to step out onto the glass floor and had many failed attempts. someone saw me struggling and said “hey! you can do it”. i don’t know why but it gave me so much courage. when i finally stepped onto the glass, about 10 people started cheering and clapping. i guess they were all watching me 😂 i’ll never forget that day and i’ll never forget that man who gave me courage to conquer my fears 😊
I was working as cashier. This beautiful lady was smiling at me, and then she said "you have a wonderful smile". It made me so happy.
She brightened my day so much and i still remember her beautiful, warm, genuine smile.

A stranger I remember:
I'm trans, so at the time of this story everyone thought I was just a "tom-boy". Anyways I was probably about 9 years old. I had just gotten a skateboard for Christmas and I really wanted to go to the skatepark near my house. So I want with my mom and there were a lot of mabey 15-19 year olds skating there. I had never skated in my life, but there was one guy there named Cole. I remember how he spent hours teaching me how to skate. I looked up to him so much because at that moment he was exactly who I wanted to be. I thought he was just so cool. I don't remember what he looked like or anything, I just remember that his name was Cole. I never saw him again. I never talked to my mom about it either since then. This memory makes me sad that I never went back to the skatepark or really learned how to skate. Anyways I hope that you are doing well, Cole.

It’s not really something big but, I remember this one interaction. Me and my family went to Indonesia as tourists, we were staying in a hotel. One morning, we were eating our breakfasts in the dining area. I was eating but I felt like someone was looking at me, like, you know, you can feel the gaze. So, I looked at my left to see an adorable baby just staring at me, he was at the table right next to our one. He was maybe around 2-3 years old. I smiled at him as he smiled back at me and kept on staring, I looked away but every now and then I’d look at him to see he is still staring. Soon enough, my family and his family also noticed that he was staring at me for an unusual amount of time and he wasn’t eating because he was busy looking at me. They were a Singaporean family. Then the grandpa smiled at me and called me to their table. I walked upto their table and bent down to that little guy sitting and he was staring at me like he had never seen a human or something. He looked so surprised and dumbfounded. Then, the family started smiling at me and telling me that they think their little boy really likes me. And he ate when I signaled him to eat. And then I had a small conversation with that grandfather about where we were from & the family was sooo nice. The mother and the grandfather called me beautiful & talked to me so sweetly. I even took a picture with that baby and he wouldn’t look at the camera but me. And I had to leave because we had to check out & get ready, and that little guy just kept staring at me the whole time. It was a weird but cute experience.

one stranger i remember is a lady who used to live in my park: throughout my life i always remember her waving to us while we played outside or if she walked past our house. as i began my preteens and teens i began to see her less and less, but even on the days i would still see her she would smile and wave, and i would follow. one day last year as i was walking home from the bus, the wind blew up her hair and i noticed a bald patch. i didn’t take much notice. couple of weeks later i get the news that she had passed. she never had any family other than her daughter who is a few years older than me. sometimes i still think about her. just shows you that you really don’t know what’s going on behind someone’s smile, or how a smile can impact someone so much
When you get an opportunity to be kind to a stranger, please be kind, you might be their reason they hold on to their life when they are facing so much darkness.
I was so fortunate to meet a stranger who was so nice to me even just for a moment, while I was going through a hectic depression. I took that as a sign that I should just hold on a bit longer. She was my light and I still thank God for her. Never seen her since
I have a 12 year old amd when he was around 6 or 7 we lived in a bigish village. There was this middle aged guy who was always in a wheel chair, he was missing both legs. My kid always stared at him and he asked me why one day. I said why dont you go and ask him why. So he did, turns out the guy lost his legs while serving in the army. He came over after and said thankyou for asking, everybody stares but no one ever talks to him or asks he said. Every time after for the next two years before we moved we always said hi and smiled
So this is the one stranger that I remember:
When I was 15 or 16, I took a train home from school and after 20 minutes of driving a saw cashier coming so I opened my bag to get my wallet, but the wallet was not there. I called my friend, that was still in school if she can see any wallets in the room and she said I left my wallet there. I was happy to know that the wallet wasn't lost but I still needed to pay for the train ticket. I was freaking out because the cashier was really close and I couldn't get out in the time, without cashier caching me. So this lady that was sitting across from me, she saw what was going on and she took her wallet and gave me 5€ for the train. I couldn't thank her enough.
A stranger I will never forget is the man that helped me find my mom. I was 5 or 6 and got lost in a supermarket (a really big one). I don’t know how long I was looking for my mom but I was crying my eyes out and thinking I was never gonna see her again or my two baby brothers (1.5 yr and newborn) grow up. I never had the talk about stranger danger at the time, so a man (the one) told me he was going to help me find my mom e just accepted. He left his wife and walked alone with me looking everywhere for my family and 5 minutes later we found them. I just run into my mom’s arms and cried. When I looked back to thank him he was not there anymore. I’m almost 20 now and I don’t remember his face no more but I still pray that he is ok and that he kept that kind soul I felt that day. It was in Brazil, not sure he will ever see it but I thank him every day. My mom and I walked for 20 minutes there looking for him to thank him but never found him. He was a literal angel!
A stranger:
I was turning 8 years old, and my family and I had gone on a tram up to a base of a mountain in New Mexico. I was talking to my Mom about the single dimple I have on the corner of my left cheek bone, and how much the two of us both love that feature of mine. I remember turning to my mom and saying, “I’m special,” and the lady behind us in the tram line said, “You are special.” It was beautiful as a young girl for me to hear from a young lady that I have worth.

I used to sleep in the back of grocery store because I was homeless. When I was 17 instead of going to college I was working in a salon as an assistant. At the time I was really confused about what I wanted to be in life (career wise) as every other 17 year old. For me it was a confusion that made me depressed and questioning my life path not trusting the beautiful life ahead of me. This women came in one early morning when we opened the salon and I greeted her as my coworker was dying her hair. When I was washing her hair out she just started reading me like a book and telling me personal things no one would know expect me . It’s turns out she was extremely intuitive and gifted. After her hair appointment we exchanged #’s and she’s been like a mother figure to me. She helped me get my life together and she also helped me grow closer to god and now I am proud to say I am in college currently a nursing student with great grades. My advice is to younger people who are confused is don’t worry trust your path and work hard. And if your lucky enough sometimes someone with no ulterior motive will come into your life and help you out . These people are a blessing and guardian angels in disguise . I still update her to this day and she is very proud of my academic achievements :)
I was an Iranian student in a U.S. uni studying computer science. I was homesick , there was war back home, and U.S. Iran relations were getting worse every day. I got out of a class and a very simple girl waiting outside of my class with a gift in her hands called me. She was a student, I had seen her but didn't know her. She gave me the gift with a smile and left. It was a small wooden wall decoration with the picture of a white bird flying in blue skies. It said : FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS. That gift is sitting on my drawer after 36 years. I kept it , and I kept in my heart, so much love and appreciation for that American stranger with a heart of gold. 💛
