    white sand is as low maintenance as gravel and maybe even better bc small grains means there’s less space for nasty stuff to get trapped. i think the contrast of the white sand with the dark slate and green plants would be beautiful. and ik those plants are gonna looks so pretty when they take over.

    • @cameronsmith6026

      Actually sand has a greater surface area and allows more bacteria to grow on it

    • @remyche8768
      @remyche8768 Год назад +1

      Goes brown /yellow

    • @lemonlizard1
      @lemonlizard1 Год назад +12

      @@cameronsmith6026which is good because that allows more beneficial bacteria, which in turn creates a stronger cycle

    • @QtheLaserDude
      @QtheLaserDude 6 месяцев назад +1

      Sand has more surface area. This goes for all materials. The smaller each piece, the more open space there will be.

    • @holdshiftt2run308
      @holdshiftt2run308 6 месяцев назад +2

      @@cameronsmith6026Which is actually good for your tank. There needs to be room for beneficial bacteria to grow.

    • @cattfishing

      More water to the paludarium? The first tank is already full to the top, the second, overflow tank is a paludarium, possibly riparian style set up that is supposed to be only part water to have a land area. It's a dripwall/waterfall. So no more water is needed for the tanks. There is no fish yet because I am guessing this person is being smart and allowing for their tanks to properly cycle first before adding life.

    Was thinking of doing something similar but with stones I broke apart to then glue back together but without the gut, to keep to look but not waste as much water space. I also had an idea for a repositionable chain of rocks with moss already growing on them
    But I would never spend so much work only to kill it with rainbow gravel 🤣🤣🤣
