I liked this excerpt, please tell me where I can find the entire gig or just On Your Knees performed.
I was a teen in 1980 so the eighties were great and in my brain forever, 53 now
This was one band I would've loved to have seen in their prime. It's any wonder The Troubador didn't catch on fire when they lit that sign up! LOL!
I saw them open for Kiss at the San Diego Sports Arena back in 84 or 85 (I can't EXACTLY remember).
I was 25 I think.
What can I say - ?
I did a lot of Drugs back then --- JUST LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE.
It was the 80's OKAY - ?
HA HA --- HA HA.
NOT --- "lol".
No shit! Every show was a thrill!
RJC 72 - I was just about to say those same two things: 1) Missed prime WASP, and 2) Jesus, NO! You'll see ...
They were awesome live. I'm pretty sure I'm in that crowd somewhere. I used to see them whenever they played the Troubadour.
I saw rhem at the lyceum in london 1984..
To this day, the best gig i ever saw
Tony Richards RULES! That lineup was awesome!
I miss the 80s so much,
I am lost in the 80s it's still the 80s in my head 🙃 one nation Hair Nation
I got away with SOoooooooooo much in the 80's. I was chaos walking!🔥
I am so thankful there wasn't cameras everywhere back then.
Saw them so many times at the Troubadour and all the other clubs. They were really entertaining and a kick ass band. Never got hit with raw meat, lol.
DEFINITELY a stadium type act. The energy in that place was Intense
In my opinion, something that's NON-EXISTENT in modern rock/metal music.
Not many people would put that much effort into a club show, Blackie deserves all the fame he ever got for the foundation he built it on.
Amazingly great comment
Lip syncing
First album and lineup was always my favourite. Just had some sort of great musical chemistry. Blackie brought together other quality players in the years that followed but this one just had something special.
Wow, decent footage of an early W.A.S.P. concert at the Troubs no less. Lineup is the original band - woot! Thank you for posting, Oleg.
Not the original line up
Dubbed obviously…
hell metal ruled the world back then.the talent was so much better then now
Bobby Thorn “than”
The spelling is better now
LIKEWISE!
Hell yeah it was!
You could never do that today with that fire.
Chris Holmes = Beast Rocker 🤘
This was the band that put the PMRC on the map.
Dear God, forgive me for wasting ONE moment of the 80's. What a GIFT that decade was. Thank GOD I'm old. Like Dio said, "We're the Last in Line." We were.
LIKEWISE! I'm 47 and, I, TOO, LOVED, and STILL MISS, the '80s!
We are indeed the Last In Line and we are gods // Life is a powerfully moving song and we write the lyrics // Hard rock and metal artists of the fabulous '80s epitomize the artistry of nature and of creation
dont dramatize and glorify things,....each era has its moments,....it really depends from eye of the beholder
Joe Eversole The thing that I find disappointing, in the modern era, is how JUST ABOUT EVERYONE "ignores" each other while "confining" themselves in their OWN world (via smart phone w/headsets), and ignoring or "blocking" out the world around them. Oh well, if THOSE people want to become an "island all unto themselves," then that's THEIR choice or business.
i can second that- wasp was one of my inspirations for playing metal in the 80's-, acdc/ maiden etc. i was lucky- i saw wasp on their 1st night at the lyceum in london, prolly the best gig i ever saw.
TONY RICHARDS! LOVE HIM! LOVE THE FIRST ALBUM! LOVE THE ORIGINAL LINEUP!
Best drummer they ever had
Hell yeah the 80 s was the best 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸👍👍
If I saw those flames in a nightclub nowadays, I'd get the FUCK out of there.
Saw them in '84 in L.A. EXTREMELY LOUD, HOT & BLISTERING SHOW! Just saw them the one time.. I remember them telling everyone that their first album just cane out...
Tony Richard was the perfect drummer for WASP and should not have been kicked out for Steve Riley.
+HellbarClub blackie lawless seems like an out of control ego-maniac . make sure you check out Chris Holmes' newer solo albums ... and videos... funny stuff .
+HellbarClub Blackie has said many times ( and Chris) that Tonys firing were all a record Company decision, and if they wanted to keep the Company support they had to let Tony go so they obviously agreed...
bullshit
Tony Richard was offered to join Ozzy Osbourne band, so he left WASP, but he never record or tour with Ozzy, also Randy piper wasn't fired, he left to join Alice Cooper, but after two moths o rehersal he finally didn't record or tour...
Every body says that blackie is a kind of bussines man, is it wrong if you try to make your bussines going on?? have many of you been playing profesionally?? In music bussiness is a kind of permisive job, were you can use drugs, been drunk on stage etc etc, and the reponsable people who make things work are the ugly face of the show...
I'm not a blackie fan, but it's a good singer, a right guitar player, not the best but he does what does well and wasp is still a credible band thanks to the new members
Fernando Garcia . Agreed! Well said! :-)
Why someone would over dub ANIMAL is beyond me... I wanna hear the live version dammit!!
+Dave Carr Check out W.A.S.P.'s INCREDIBLE 1984 show at London's Lyseum for the live version.
Exactly. Why put the studio version audio over the live version video? No sense.
ruclips.net/video/OAq9BullE68/видео.html
CrazyhorseDK C
Yup
I can see Blackie was busy channeling his inner 1975 era Gene Simmons
he even talked like him in interviews.....kinda weird.
This is good can't wait for the 40th anniversary tour to come to the states.I saw wasp back in 1987 inside the electric circus tour. The bill was Raven ,Slayer and Wasp was a great show and the first and best time I saw Slayer when people went mad when they played.
The 80's ruled!
Tony Richards fué hecho para WASP como Steven Adler para Guns'N Roses !!
Back when WASP was the real fucking deal....
Awesome bro I saw them at the Troubadour back in the day still the best club show I've ever seen
I saw at the lyceum in london... yes that gig.. 5 rows back from holmes..🤘🏻🔥
Badass band from the 80's.

I miss the 08's.I was 17 years old when i went to see W.A.S.P in concert.miss Tony on the drums.
Wish it wasnt the albums cuts over top of yhe performance. Would been hreat to hear them live here. Man, awesome.
They were never quite the same band after they booted Tony Richards. It's too bad.
Tony was awesome!
The Classic lineup.
Truth
Tony was awesome ....his drumming amazing and offering on time backing vocals
Stet Howland was better I think
NICE.LONG LIVE W.A.S.P.....
The only version of WASP that I ever liked. And Blackie should have stayed playing the bass.
Saw this tour in Boston. To this day, the loudest band I've ever seen in a club. They ripped!
Seen them in Pittsburgh,PA great show first tour for them. They kicked ass! 🤘💀
I'm only 17 and I have a huge crush on Blackie Lawless 🎸🔥🎸🔥🎸🔥🎸🔥🎸🔥🎸🔥🎸❣
I was at that show. The WASP sign on fire was do fucken hot my face was sweating. This is back when Hollywood was all rock, but now it's all Rap Crap.
mister smith
--- And "SHIT - HOP".
how do u think we can atleast get something like that back ?
Fuck rap crap.
@@mista8954 For starters the internet, social media and so called "smart" phones have to be abolished completely.
Do you remember any other details about the sign? I want to build a similar Wolverines sign.
awesome
It's so insane to think that PRODUCERS would Dare!!! challenge Blackie and give the band a hard time during recordings in the 80's , Blackie is a GENIUS!!!! Right or Wrong!!!
Amazing. We want more
thanks for the upload.
this is incredible.
Awsome memories. .imagine health and safety with that fire he lights on stage these days!
such an incredible voice! like in the debate album)
Looks like a pretty wild show to take a date to ! 😚
Was it Piper who sounds a lot like Blackie on backups? Surely it wasnt backing tracks played through the P.A. It sure sounds like it. The original lineup was unreal. W.A.S.P. forever. Blackie is such a vocalist. Holmes was killer back then. His sound was total original. That was an era that I'm SO thankful I lived through.Ive seen W.A.S.P. with Piper, Riley, Holmes and Lawless. I've seen Pantera 7 times. White Zombie 3 times. Nugent 7 times. Y&T 4 times. DIO 4 times. Tons of others. Not bragging, it's just that those bands and those times lay with you and become part of you. I've got it in my veins and I'm one grateful person.🎶✌
Woww!!! Not bragging At Al!!! I Loove Pantera!
I'm Grateful too!!! Best Rock!# 50's 60's 70's but, 80's, No comparison!! Hard Rock 4Ever!
@@renessawasserman8401 A person who loves Pantera understands where they're coming from and that makes you a strong, determined person. They were about strength and individualism. You are part of it. Like any religion or belief, Pantera lives on. Bless you, Renessa.
OH My God!! That is Theeeee sweetest Reply Ever!!! Thank You.
And SOO true!!! Individualism Inner strength & the Strong Belief that hard Rock will Never die!! It's too important
Tony Richards!!!
xoxo The Clarences
Blackie and chris, steve and randy reunion would be treat, with johnny rod, do a show with a changing line up of all the player's in wasp from the beginning till now,I love blackie a lot, he saved me from suffering
They all hate Blackie's guts.
bLACKIE WAS A HUGE Gene & Paul fan as we ll as Ace not sure about Peter but Blackie used some of Paul & Genes stage ideas but it worked well for him, first abulm is AWESOME
Given how he gives those interviews, I have a feeling Blackie watched pro wrestling growing up.
Another clue that Blackie was a rasslin fan growing up was his earlier stage name was Blackie Goozeman, and there was a professional wrester named Blackie Guzman in the 60s and 70s.
I saw these guys more than once on the LA club circuit (Troub, Country Club, Whisky, et al) Not sure I was at this one or not, I know I saw them at the Troub had to be either 82 or 83 if not both... What a shithole, but man there is nothing like seeing a band like this in a venue the size of a uhaul storage locker... Like someone else posted... Glad I'm OLD and got to experience the 80s growing up in LA... So many awesome bands that never made it out of LA...
STARWOOD was the best nightclub EVER in WeHo.
Blackie sounds like he's trying to pump up a football team at the end there.
never shoulda fired tony. one of the best drummers out of the 80s.
Wow. What a show
masters!
Pure n rock till death that was Wasp at the start but Hey: blackie still and was the man ....still standing hail lawless🤘
I was there and this was when wasp was great ,fame went right to blackies head ,he killed a great band!
Michael Douglas Skewes Agreed. But ... Blackie had 2 things, a huge presence and most important a fantastic voice. The sheer power of those vocals is legendary and lasts today. Not many bands from the scene had a voice that strong nor the presence.
+vladlashing And don't leave out that Blackie's an amazing songwriter, and Nikki Sixx describes his songwriting in exactly the same way.
uh,Chris Holmes lived in my garage for 6 months ,this was before he went back ,I know these guys,Blackie and Nikki ,as song writers, who has sold more albums, who has more top 10 hits,Nikki ,with his secret weapon Mick. Blackie or Steve ,uh hasn't done so good. It's been down hill since the second album!
Michael Skewes, of the GREAT Fatal Attraction! You were a part of the scene! True Vampires of Hollywood!!
In my opinion, back then, Blackie was "charisma" personified!
thx
Getting a little seasoned in my age ,but I'm so glad I grew up in the 70's and 80's .
Little did these people know…
They were watching gods at work!
O início da carreira do wasp. Classico
Metal as hell🤘🏻
Wow this was in a club 🤯
buenisimo👍
🔥W.A.S.P🔥
Hey everyone listen very close.. This is a live recording but the vocals are from the record like they are lip-syncing but I was there at this show and it sounded and looked real to me but who knows
Pure fuck1n cuts. I want this concert complete. Please
This is wasp ❤😮
I had that same Priest hat..either way the chicks who didn't get back stage had to get laid💗 so We all won when the concert ended huh✌
I know this is old footage but how’s blackies vocals going when he’s not singing? We’re they using backing vocal tracks here as well?
Lots of icing, not much cake. But I feel 12 again when I hear this
W.A.S.P. RULE
👊
What vhs is this from?
Show playback?
I wish time machines really existed........
I.A.S.P. yeah !!!! 😋
Why is F like a Beast an overdub? Was that done later?
I'm 61 years old Born and raised in southern California Oh to be back in the reckless 80s
Mark Spohn --- I TOO, am 61.
Born in San Diego and raised there until I turned 17.
Throughout the 80's I was back and forth from there and here in Kentucky.
I spent a majority of the 80's in San Diego.
I partied A LOT and went to SSOOOOOOOOOOOO MANY concerts.
I saw WASP open for Kiss in 84 (Or 85, I can't really remember EXACTLY).
They, WASP, were thee == WILDEST == Band I had ever seen.
Mind you, Alice Cooper was a pretty wild one in their
own right but NOT as INSANE as WASP.
I have seen Kiss MANY TIMES and up until I saw WASP,
.
. == THEY ==
.
were the wildest stage show.
But it really IS TOUGH to define JUST WHO was the wildest, or the BEST.
Until wasp came along I had seen many a show such as Alice Cooper, Kiss,
Aerosmith, Bob Seger (1977 Night Moves Tour - AMAZING show), Judas Priest,
UFO, The Babies, The Cars, Motley Crue, Cheap Trick, Pat Benatar,
Ozzie Osborne (With Randy Rhodes), AXE, Joan Jett and The Blackhearts,
AND A WHOLE LOT of other now legendary bands that I can't remember right now.
Sorry --- I did lots of drugs as did just about EVERYBODY ELSE DID AS WELL.
But WASP was so DAMN GOOD.
.
. == The -- 80's -- ROCKED ==
.
I MISS THEM SO MUCH.
.
.
The demise of WASP Started when Tony was fired.
Tony Richards wasn't kicked out of the band!! He quit due to issues with Lawless. Randy also quit after something Blackie said. It was all about Blackie and every one else was standing in his shadow. That is what happened to WASP.
Not true: www.fullinbloommusic.com/tony_richards_WASP_Part2.html
Tony was fired.
@@DavidSmith-is4ph No he wasn't!!! He left the band and took his Million dollars with him and signed over his points to Blackie. Rikk Fox was fired. Tony exited. It was expected. Randy's exit wasn't expected. W.A.S.P. contract was for 4 mil they got 3 up-front. The rest after the 2nd record.
Tony lost lots of money yes but he did well with what he did get. I don't blame the original members for not working with Lawless. He listed all member of band as studio musician's. Without Rik fox there was no W.A.S.P. after all HE and HE alone coined the name!!
@@royalslack thus interview is semi right. All who speak of W.A S.P. or Lawless get gag orders put on them. When Lawless dies he will be holding Hitlers hand in hell for all of us musicians he screwed over!!!
If this was the concert with roughcutt, jeff and dave of Slayer were at this show
I’m surprised they let them light their logo in flames in such a small venue.
Luke 13:32 And HE said unto them, Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to morrow, and the third I shall be perfected.
Why are they playing to a recorded track?
he sings like Kevin Dubrow
Is this the only known footage of the original lineup in existence?
Doblaje??
All the band audio is overdubbed in this vid
Animal overdubbed from another source
Yeah. Frustrating and unfortunate.
"Animal" seems to be overdubbed anytime you see it live...I don't get it. It's a 3-chord brilliant rocker that should be able to be reproduced live with no issues.
In a world before safety regulations... 😂
I think the guy from the Bar Rescue show ran the Troubadour in 83 .
Gina B. did the booking and put on the shows. I think she told me once that he worked there but I don't think he ran it.
@@DavidSmith-is4ph Maybe he worked as a bouncer. He is a big dude.He talks about the punk bands that played there. And talks about being there durring some crazy times at that bar.
Hellion + Animal
can't hear a thing
Did Blackie Lawless ever do a single show and not lip sync?
It was weird hearing Blackie use his normal speaking voice. I've only heard him sing/scream and his roughly voiced banter between songs.
I seen WASP in '82 there weren't any goofy metal dude' in the audience just other bands watching the show. So they made them money but they're goofy dude' or either killed them selves.
Dubbed music on the second song..
i feel bad for the dudes in the front row , with Blackies crack in their faces , WASP was great in 84
This is cool to watch but some of the music is dubbed
