This video is really high Quality I would like to see more on this. Im building a replica in a game Im playing and stumbled upon this video looking for more detail to the Navigator position.
I would like to note however though that the study done showing that the Navigator was killed more in this time period. Post dates the B17s who were all attacked from the REAR till the Germans learned to attack from the front. A study before that Im sure would likely indicate the Tail gunner being killed far more often and likely the waist gunners and ball turret. The Germans didnt learn to till later on that that attacking from the front at knife angles would do more damage. They also were not able to get up to altitudes to intercept high Altitude bombers till later in the war and trying to intercept would often find them attacking from the rear and being outran by the B17s.
Its debatable honestly since many times the Germans only had a chance for one pass. But what needs to be noted is the Germans were not able to intercept accurately till they saw the contrails of the Bomber formations and by then the B17s were already at high altitudes required O2 above 10,000 ft the Fighters likely would have had extreme difficulty reaching those altitudes to intercept meaning if they were approaching at a climb they would have had to have come up from the rear more often than not. It was only later when they started to patrol at high Altitudes that they were coming from Above the Formations and down onto the B17s.
Memphis Belle was a Type F Type Es were common at the start of the European bombing campaign and had only one gun in their nose so its debatable in reality of since the study only covered 3 years of the war which was really mid War when we were losing LESS bombers than the Start of the Campaign.

Welcome to the channel! Excellent feedback and information. We were honored to be able to have our B-17 in depth on the Belle. We are covering each and every crew position in the plane, later in the year will come Restoration stories etc. I am sure throughout different period's of the war along with a change in tactics and technology, statistics also changed to reflect that as you mention. Sadly, thus far our channel is really struggling to gain the attention of the aviation crowd, all our B-17 series are performing very poorly, the right people are just not seeing them. Thankyou for watching.

Thanks for watching and the kind words. Based off what I know that watch would have been individual crew issue, not with the plane, I would say there is every chance that watch went through the Belle at some point.
