These aircraft was served indian air forces till 1982. That time my father was in 49 squadron of iaf in jorhat assam india. I love these aircraft and sound of engine i still remember it. Rough and tough design who saved our kashmir in 1947. 😊

I watched a documentary about the restoration of "That's all brother" just a few weeks ago. Shame that Night Fright didn't quite join her old pal for the reunion.

There are 3 dc3/c47 sitting at a little country airport in Vichy Missouri USA. Name of the airport is Rolla Reginal airport they were for sale not sure if still are. I know they are not airworthy they went thru a tornado prob 15-20 years ago and then were pulled down in to a field

There were actually 5, two were purchased before the tornado hit and have been restored andb are now part of the Australian HARS collection - HARS also have the largest collection of original dc3 and c47s in the world at 13, with 5 of them airworthy. Dc3's where popular cheap travel options for Australias maturing airlines during the aviation boom after WW2 . Heck our national war memorial museum had two complete c47s partially disassemble in storage waiting preservation
