Never should have gone all truck/SUV.

@@rayrussell6258 They just announced a Taurus.
Bring back the Crown Victoria.
No doubt. Bring back the Vic and Town Car.
Now that was a great car! Such a durable platform!
They could totally do it.
Bring back the Windstar/Freestar Minivan
@@aryehrosenthal2138 LMAO. That's funny. Your a funny guy. Bring back the Windstar/Freestar. Hahahaha 🤣😂
Always thought it was stupid for the Big Three to halt production of sedans. I imagine they're tired of watching Toyota and Honda dominate the entire automotive industry and are now trying to perform the inevitable backtrack.
They forgot the fact that not everyone needs or wants a SUV.
Which is why my wife ended up with a Camry TRD and won't go back. Besides, the Taurus will probably have turbos in all drive train options, so no thanks.
But the problem is Toyota and Honda have dominated the sedan market for years. Even while the big three was still making Taurus’s, Focus’s, Malibu’s, Impala’s, etc. which is why they got out of the market in the first place. Ford at least has a good market for the Taurus with police and government, but for the gen pop the sales will just never come close to the Camry or Accord.
Thunderbird made by BMW that what it counts sharing the same platform as the BMWZ4 to say parts for the Supra will be compatible for the Thunderbird.
@stevestruthers6180 you forgot that sedans barely sell anymore.
If you want to lose money YOU should start selling sedans lol.
This is good news ,nothing beats a good old sedan as far as looks and drive ability goes
The problem I have is the low ground clearance. Old cars use to have good ground clearance that good deal with all of life's little BS moments. Every sedan keeps getting lower and lower to try and be sporty. It's ridiculous. The new Toyota Crown makes sense. But also trunks. Trunks are such a waste of space. Give me a wagon, hatch, or crossover.
The new Taurus is only going to be avaible in the Middle East
@@narwhalmilk3754More likely 😔
If you think the Taurus is a looker, you need help. Taurus was just another egg car, or as some call them, "lozenge cars". It was the car of choice for many zoning boards, zero curb appeal.
Its the chinese Taurus. Sold in China and in a few other countries. It is never coming to the US
Finally, the sedan is back. They need to bring back the smaller ones like the escort and focus.
Yes the focus would have been a much better car than it was were it not for the unreliable Powershift 6 speed DCT. I purchased a 2013 Focus back in 2016, 6 months later at 71k needed a transmission replacement luckily it was covered until the extended warranty I had purchased at the dealership. The replacement transmission seemed much better and shifted smoother, though admittedly not as smooth as an automatic with the planetary gears & torque converter. 5 months later I T boned another driver who ran a stop sign & totaled the car, I was sort of glad to see the end of it, although I loved getting close to 40mpg on the highway and had a very comfortable ride and plenty of tech features without being over the top.
You do know that this video is a lie? Ford NEVER has announced any plans on bringing back the Taurus in the US. Clean Tech is nothing but a CLICKBAIT channel.
Its the chinese Taurus. Sold in China and in a few other countries. It is never coming to the US
@@zandaughtry7936never is a long time.
This video seems to be fake news. Can't find a single article online talking about the Taurus coming back.
The Taurus was one of Ford's more reliable cars. I would love to see this car make a comeback.
Actually the Taurus had Major Transmission problems when it came out.
@@Thommadura The AXOD, then AX4N/4F50N actually has a decent reputation. There was a metallurgy issue where the splines would wear away and stop driving the pump. Fix that on the affected units and you were golden. Still way more reliable than any GM FWD auto trans! And don't even get me started on the disposable explodamatic modern CV transmissions.
@@Thomas63r2 I owned a Transmission shop - when the AXOD went - it usually took the whole Drive Train with it. They were generally not available in the used market - and so we normally went to dealers to get a WH0LE PLANETARY set which was really expensive although the dealers generally did not repair the transmission they just installed NEW ones. The original THM125 gm front wheel drive had only one problem really - that bushing at the output end of the Differential would fail -and the aftermarket created a replacement seal/bearing unit that could be installed without removing the transmission - this was far better than any Ford FWD trans. However - I will agree that CVTs were just plain Junk.
The biggest mistake that GM made was using Aluminum for their pumps - which would get really badly damaged when the Torque Converters failed and spewed steel into them. But GM transmission, when working correctly, generally shifted better than Fords. THe mistake ALL manufacturers made was that when they move to solenoids for shifting - they did not specify an early Transmission Fluid change. ALL metal parts wear into each other - and give off some metal. Solenoids - being MAGNETIC SWITCHES were where the metal went when they were energized. An early fluid change would have removed a lot of this metal from the unit and allowed the solenoids to work properly longer. Remember - when they were not energized the metal would end up in the fluid. I still recommend an early Transmission fluid change today.
My ONLYproblem with my 2013 TAURUS,IS IT HAS NO RUBBER AROUND THE WINDOW OPENINGS,so water/snow just goes into the windows then you can NOT OPEN THE DRIVERS DOOR,as water freezes on door saddle !..🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
@@Thommadura Yes, I go with trans service every 25k to 30k miles for the reason you mention. Yes Sonnax and others make some great problem solver replacement parts. I've repeatedly had GM transmissions fail early, sometimes still well below 100k miles, much better success with Ford transmissions going often more than 50% longer. As they say, your mileage may vary.
Hope that they commit to make their Quality #1 priority, and affordable.😊

Would be interesting if the performance model was a AWD hybrid ecoboost that could easily produce 400 or 450 hp.
They are still sold in china. Look there
I have a 2013 Green SHO - it's been a great car for me for 8 years now, as I bought it used in 2015
Take a look at the Chinese market and you would get a glimpse.
I remember when the Taurus first came out in 86. Everyone went nuts and had to have one. The were cars ahead of their time and people loved them. I sure hope the new Taurus has as much success as the First and Second generations did.
I am surprised, because I thought that Ford was doing away with cars and going strictly to trucks, SUVs & crossovers. Also surprised that this will have ICE and Hybrid options, and not being reintroduced as a new EV. Above all else, this car needs to be affordable for the masses, you can't make this a $50k + car.
So now that Ford is making cars again, can we see a new Lincoln Continental / Ford Galaxie that people will get excited for?
This whole video is a hoax. There has been no such announcement for the US. Most of the video shown in the background is not even Ford product. It is another company's EV product.
The Ford vehicle occasionally shown in the video as "Taurus" is already for sale in China, and has been for over a year. There was no intent to bring it to the US, because US CAFE law currently is too restrictive to sell gasoline-engine powered vehicles classified as sedans in this country. They can only be sold as trucks or SUV's, where CAFE regulation is less restrictive. Also, the vehicle shown in video is not full-size like US consumers recognize with that Taurus nameplate. It is Fusion sized.
You should also note the images of Ford CEO Farley are mute, he is not shown saying anything about this vehicle. If it was an official announcement and true, you can be sure Ford would release a video that has sound!
Exactly! Did a search and found on a few different sites-
This new Taurus is only available in the Middle East, where, we guess, the market still demands one.
@@rayrussell6258 NEW Gasoline powered sedans are selling in the US EVERDAY.....
@@wrenw1550 not just middle east, it is made and sold in China. Those places don't have CAFE regulations to meet in their country.
@@johnfranklin5277 you didn't read my comment(s) completely here and elsewhere in threads.
I've said the US companies have discontinued selling gasoline powered cars, because the new Obama/Biden CAFE regulations make it impossible to meet the standard if you sell gasoline cars. (Mustang remains at Ford, Malibu and Camaro at GM, and Charger/Challenger at MOPAR, sales volume is not very large, but unless regulations change, those cars will also be forced to go electric. In fact, announcements about discontinuation of them have already begun.) US companies don't have "credits" accumulated from prior year fleet averages that allow them to go ahead and sell vehicles that don't meet the new standards, since they were selling larger cars that customers still wanted, and simultaneously pushing small cars out the door with steep rebates to offset the lower fuel economy of the big cars. The result of that was each small car was sold at a loss of over $10K. The companies decided not to keep doing that, after Obama/Biden passed the new regulations, and have now almost completely exited the car side of the market.
The other brands from overseas continue to sell their smaller gasoline-powered cars, in part because currency exchange rate imbalances are keeping their cars profitable enough to import all the parts they require to assemble cars in US plants or import complete cars from overseas, but they will soon run out of emissions credits and be forced to switch to all electric vehicles, too, unless US regulations get changed to free up restrictions.
Truck CAFE regulation is less restrictive, and gasoline engines in trucks are not currently in jeopardy.
I owned a 1990 Taurus SHO. With the five speed and JBL sound system. What Yamaha did to the engine was amazing. The engine looked amazing also. Miss that car very much!! Hope Ford does something special again with the new Taurus!😎
Super 4 cyls or hybrid options
And I STILL have my MINT 1997 GEN 3 SHO with only 57k on it. I have been the first registered owner since 1999 (it was a Ford lease before I bought it). I loved the Taurus , this looks like a fusion with a face lift, if the Taurus returns it shouldn’t look like anything else on the road.
As a former tow truck driver...
The cars I towed the most was many a Taurus with a bad transmission. The Crown Vic, or a cool retro modern Galaxy would be of interest to me.
Glad to see the Taurus back, I thought it was a mistake by Ford and Chevy to quit the sedan market

@@craigc1879 The Chevy dealership up the street from me had a bunch of them. Sold them all out. I see them everywhere.
GM sold like 115K of these last year thats quite good
It's look like this Taurus is mid-size, and they have to do full-size version.
They would best serve their customers by bringing back cars like the sub $20k fiesta-something affordable as opposed to $80/90/100 k pick up trucks their dealers lots are full of and can’t sell
you are mistaken, all those full-size trucks are flying off lots. Dealers are complaining they can't get enough to sell. The demonstrators on lots stay around, but the sold vehicles arrive on transport trucks and are immediately picked up by customers who ordered them.
I agree prices are too expensive, but you can blame Obama/Biden for that. They passed a new CAFE law that effectively forced automakers to discontinue inexpensive small cars and instead design and sell expensive EV's.
Dealers are selling trucks all day long, the Fiesta unfortunately was known in the US for having bad transmissions
@@devinbiz Ford has a History of Bad transmissions, including the Original Taurus 4 speed Transaxle, the A4ld french built small overdrive, the e40d in Trucks and the Focus transmissions too.
The problem with the Fiesta, and all other sub compact cars, is they’re sold at a loss by many car dealers in order to hit CAFE targets in the USA. Ford lost money on every Fiesta they sold.
While this is true, For wants hit’s Money Making Units like PU Trucks, and SUV’s.
I hope if the Taurus Sedan is rebuilt that it will make it's way to Australia. It'll give the people who don't want to drive a Ranger or SUV. Australia lost the great Ford Falcon which it's exterior front and rear design was almost the same as the last Taurus. The Aussie Ford Falcon Sedan had great engines that could be pushed hard all day and never died and had fantastic fuel economy, be it the i6 or V8.
you can probably get the Taurus imported to Australia from China, where it is already being built and sold.
Ford has no plans to expand production. This video is a hoax. In fact, most of the images shown in the video are of EV's sold by another company, not Ford product.

RE-built? They are still building and selling them in China and they look amazing
@@jeffbiddle1956 Thank you for your reply.I recently read an article from "Ford Authority" regarding the Chinese Taurus. I agree that it looks amazing in design, the exterior looks almost identical to the last built Australia Ford Falcon FGX XR6 & V8. There were no interior photos however. It difficult to understand why car manufacturers insist Electric vehicles are the way to go when there are so many problems around the world with EV's, from charging issues, milage detiration when hauling, exploding batteries, batteries can only be charged to a certain level and if battery dies, all electronics close. If you happen to be inside on a cold night you can't open doors, can heat the cabin and people have died from hyperphermia in countries with snow. There are many other issues with EV's. Toyota has stated the EV is dead.
A few American motoring enthusiasts have taken a few of the fastest production Ford Falcon's to America due to many wanting to see them in action. I have an Australian built Ford Falcon 1998 EL with a 4 speed automatic, has over 427k on the clock (original mileage) still travel like new and still has the original components. Well yeah they should bring a car back to the fleet line. It be more cost friendly and that will make more of a selling point. Not everyone can afford a suv or truck.
They should include a wagon WITHOUT THIRD ROW SEATING to include hidden storage, as they should with mid full size SUVs.
Yes, briing back the Wagon to steal sales away from these boring looking SUV's
I hope ford brings back a console style shifter for gear selection and not anymore dials or buttons, some of us will not even consider anything but, looks better, feels better, sportier and overall more reliable , also has been a deal breaker for me personally.
I love the dial shifter on my SUV. I didn't think I would, but it is much easier to use than the levers.
I had a 17 Lincoln MKZ With the Push Button Shifter and ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! It was so Simple and Properly placed!!
These car companies hire retarted engineer's. If it worked for 100 years why change it. They get a design that works and lasts forever then they think they are smarter than the guy before them and they feck it up.

I hate the dial shifters
Over the last 36 years, we've had 6 Tauruses (Tauri?), if you include our 2007 Ford Five Hundred. Our current is a 2013 Limited 3.5 V6. The first 3 were Vulcan 3.0L V6s, The 500 was a 3.0, and the X was 3.5L. I am in love with the Ford Duratec V6s, as my F-150 is the 3.5L EcoBoost. I'm currently looking for a Mustang convertible with the 3.7L Cyclone version. I *hope* one of these is offered in the new one, without a turbo. Well over a million miles with the many Taurus's and another 130k miles on the truck.
I don't care what anybody says the Taurus was literally just as reliable as my crown Victoria. From 85,000 miles to 219,500 miles never left me stranded and never cost me more than 400$ to fix.
Shhhheee when doing ride alongs the Taurus sucked donkey for it's regular cabin space the Crown Vic was nice
Crownvic is still far superior than any Taurus out there.
My favorite sedan was the 2010 Ford Taurus . Great trouble free ride and very comfortable. I like the looks of the new design and as I have read they are available or will be available in the near east. The redesign as shown is great looking and with the choice of powertrains it will be a certain success in the USA !
Rented a Mercury Sable (the Mercury version of the same) in 1989 and it was one of the quietest, most refined sedans of the time. It was also handsomely styled inside and out, and much more ahead of its time compared to other domestic offerings then. Ford should consider bringing back the Mercury line as well. It doesn’t look like Ford is actually going to bring this car back to the United States.
If the Taurus is really returning, I'll wait to purchase it. I loved my old Taurus. Was upset when they discontinued it.
But, is this in the U.S.?

I actually really like ford sedans. I hope they bring back the fusion even if it’s an electric variant tbh.
The ford Taurus SHO was a beast of a car that very few knew about I hope they do another version of that
Definitely a sleeper aswell as the Lincoln mks ecoboost
I believe that they should make a model with a V8, and make it upgradeable with performance parts. That would be awesome. :)
I love V8s much as everyone. I have a LS2 GTO. It wont work. The only way Dodge gets away with it is because tooling was paid for ages ago and they kept building on that niche. Itll be 51k msrp then the dealer will add another $10-15k. A Taurus V8 failed 2 times before. The niche isnt established enough to justify the price Ford would charge.
There is always the 5.0.
That would probably be more of a Crown Vic.
Fwd v8? No thanks
2000 Lincoln Continental was 32 valve V8 with FWD. That was such a great car.
That car already exists outside of the United States. Ford and GM didn't kill their sedans within the United States because Americans didn't want them, they killed them because we di😢want to pay the ridiculous price they wanted for them. But we were willing to pay the ridiculous price they wanted for their SUVS. I live in Pennsylvania it is basically a Ford state our state police and officials use vehicles are Fords. I'm starting to see Dodge Chargers as state police vehicles. And if was to put money on it that would be the real reason Ford is bringing it to America
Definitely needed as a police vehicle, a family vehicle or whatever people can do with them. Trust me, Ford should have never stopped making them. Family sedans sell, just look at Camry and Accord.
As a Camry owner, no. Those are not family cars. I personally only know one family that ever used sedans as a family car. Crossovers, minivans, and trucks are so much better options. Good car. Can be used a second family car. But the main one? Ha! Getting a Highlander, Sienna, or RAV4 makes more sense.
I need one with a Grand Marquis package... Make the ass end a station wagon.... A 429 fuel injected 8-speed... All-wheel drive... Rear wheels could be electric ,, combined 900 horsepower...
The Taurus never stopped production in other world markets. But it will not return to the US, as Sedans are phasing out in the US
It looks more like an elongated Focus in some shots.
The Mk. 1 Cortina was a good car. Easy to work on and economical to run, but the 3 bearing crankshaft would wear out after 20,000 miles or less. The 1600 engine with a 5 bearing crankshaft was much better with a probable 50,000 miles life span before any work needed to be done.
It depends how big the Taurus is going to be. The Mondeo was was a popular car in England with a 2 Litre engine , mine w as a diesel my wife ha the Mk 1 Mondeo petrol engine. I stopped buying Fords because of the poor quality of service from the main dealership.
The capri was a popular car. A small engine that looks like a sports car.
Obama/Biden passed a new CAFE law that forced the discontinuation of inexpensive small cars and instead requires expensive EV's be built and sold.
BRAVO to FORD as long as there’s a COMBUSTIBLE ENGINE and a GOOD DESIGN and QUALITY EXECUTION ! I’m happy to hear this because if it is a gas engine it is something I thought was DONE !

When everybody in the USA wants more inexpensive hybrid Mavericks, Ford will invent something else. With limited number of factories maybe Ford should think more. And forget about beating Asian sedans in terms of reliability.
Ford doesn't get to decide what powertrain to build, nor any other company now. Obama/Biden passed a new CAFE law that forced the discontinuation of inexpensive small cars and instead requires expensive EV's be built and sold.
Also things gone wrong (tgw) data shows Ford is in a statistical dead-heat with those Asian sedans. TGW is objective data, the real facts.
What you see reported in the news and in Consumers Report magazine is SUBJECTIVE data ..... OPINIONS collected about vehicles, not true data, which opinions are influenced by what people think they are supposed to say, not by actual quality issues. For instance, one question in the survey asks if you are happy with the cupholders in your car. If you say NO, that gets reported as a quality issue. Having enough cupholders is not a quality issue at all.

I don’t do the mileage now because I retired in 2014 I have only done 18,000 miles since I purchased it with 9,000 miles on the clock
I have owned my October 2013 BMW for 10 years. I was going to replace it but the eye watering cost of a battery powered car ……
Now the UK government has enjoyed a very nice bonus of 59% in vat on private fuel sales and have given away the road fund licence on EV’s but home charging on EV’s contains no extra charges on electric fuel easily recovered on a filling station fuel points so economy overnight electricity usage may well carry a surcharge. Nothing is free.
Bringing me back to replacing an EV battery after 10 years could well be more than the value of the vehicle which means we will have finally arrived at the disposable car. Now I would love to use my Raleigh Lennon Grand Prix pedal cycle but at 79 this year that is highly unlikely.
Unless one of the bionic man’s nuclear batteries that last forever. I was going to say a lifetime but for me that’s not much value left in that idea.😎
My theory all along is that, to maintain their lofty profitability goals, Ford would reintroduce sedans and small vehicles as China-made offerings. The absence was strategic to minimize UAW and public protests. Asia for cars, north America for SUVs and trucks. The Fusion always sold well, so something bigger was going on.
Only in the middle east currently. I can't find any new information about a US release
I'm a Ford retiree. This video is a hoax.
@@rayrussell6258 figured
The Taurus has been needing a comeback since they discontinued it, they were always great reliable cars I had a 2005 and drove it into the ground and it ran perfectly
It was still alive in china
I have a 2016 Taurus a great running car, but I hope Ford opens up the front seating area for us bigger guys who need LEG room. Make a fold down center console like what the F150 has (if it absolutely has to be inside), have a bench seat instead (you talk about a great selling point 6 passenger car!)...who cares about a big useless console occupied by a huge shifter...take it out, do a nostalgic design like shifter on a steering column, come-on FORD open that constrictive front!!

@@rayrussell6258 I see what you mean now, looks like he's spinning the Taurus sold over seas...to bad for U.S., thanks for informing me!
I still have my 2010 Taurus with 200 thousand miles on it! I will definitely buy the new one!
I never understood why Ford never marketed it in the first place.
You never saw an ad for it.
I seem to recall that Ford thought so much of the name Taurus that they changed it to 500 only to change it back.
Not exactly
@@MattVerbaanProperties Huh ?
"Five Hundred" was the model name, not 500
Out of all the Fords to “bring back” the Taurus should be last on the list.
The Taurus was a good car but had a horrible reputation on almost every year built for bad Transmissions so hopefully they have finally gotten that straightened out the car I wish Ford would bring back is the LTD along with the Grand Marquis basically the same car as the LTD very popular very well-built I know for sure they would instantaneously get orders across the United States not only for your normal consumer but for your police departments and government agencies along with taxi companies in addition to that Uber drivers. Even limousine companies. In my opinion that was definitely one of the best vehicles Ford ever made I have had ltd.'s and Grand marquis's last without any problems a good four hundred thousand miles and that's with bare minimum maintenance plus they were extremely tough which totally backed up the built Ford tough reputation I seriously hope they bring that car back. Especially with the V 8 police interceptor 5.0 engine that could be shared with the Mustang. Quite frankly with as popular as that car was I never understood why they stopped making them. Because literally everyone that drove one loved it. They always have a smooth ride even on rough roads and always had plenty of get-up-and-go. Plus they were extremely safe with an excellent reputation. They practically sold themselves off the lot.
I miss my old 1992 Taurus, it was my first car, and it was such a comfortable, reliable and good looking car, I Ioved it. I sold it only because I moved to Australia 😢
a new Taurus would be great . I remember the first ones that came out they seemed so modern back then
This new Taurus is only available in the Middle East, where, we guess, the market still demands one.
They never should of discontinued its sedan line up to begin with. Hopefully Chrysler and GM will follow. Not everyone wants a SVU. The reasons why they got rid of sedans was because greed there’s more money in selling SUVs and as unfortunate as it is American car brands are not built well so people don’t want something that’s always going to cost them and give them trouble. So hopefully they don’t cheap out on it and price it fair. The reason why foreign car companies sell better is because they are built better not to mention they generally stand behind their products. American car companies build crap and inflate prices on their cars. American car companies scrap their cars models every few years as opposed to Toyota and Honda who keep their lines up and prefects them that’s how they retain customers.
The Taurus?!“lconic”?!To hell with the Taurus bring back The Crown Vic!(with full frame V8 options and EVs for girly men)
Oh sure the will bring back the V8 how if the USA is killing the V8 engine our own country wants green in the hands of grandpa Joe and they want 40+ miles a gallon 🤣🤣 what's a v8 going to give you

I am glad that FMC is bringing back the Ford Taurus. As a company right now Ford does not make any cars at all. They make trucks and SUVs, but no passenger cars. I hope that they will be successful in selling the Taurus to the USA and the world.
This video is fake. Look it up, there isn't a single article talking about it.
Ford never stopped building and selling Taurus in China and the Middle East. I am very doubtful of any of the information in this video as this fact was not mentioned while they went on about needing to be mindful of international sales. Ford also makes plenty of sedans for Europe. No quotation was provided from a Ford official either about the return of the Taurus in the US. At best we may get a made in China Taurus to bolster China made car volume. I expect GM will be doin the same thing - particularly with all of their "partner" EV's.
the video is a hoax; I'm a Ford retiree. It's fake.
The Ford shown is the China built and sold Taurus. All the other images are not even Ford product, they are EV's built and sold by other companies.
I recently read an article by "Ford Authority", on a new Taurus Sedan model for China which also showed photographs of the vehicle. The exterior was 95% identical to the last Australian made Ford Falcon Sedan model, the FG X, XR6T and the Supercharged V8 sedans.
As a Ford Falcon driver all my life, (parents before me) I would purchase a new Sedan if Ford made one available for Australia buyers.
Moreover, Ford would make a killing, money wise, from LEA agencies across Australia. Our Police, since the demise of Sedans vehicles in Australia, are driving mid size vehicles from overseas, mostly in station wagon style from Scota, VW, variety of SUV brands and 4x4 models. Police are not happy campers driving these vehicles all day, especially on long regional, rural and remote roads.
@@Cracyfox4359 since the US government enacted a new CAFE law under Obama/Biden some years ago, US companies have been forced to discontinue sedans because the mileage standard cannot be met with gas engine cars, and most US consumers cannot afford $50K electric cars.
Due to that, it's unlikely a car could be made for Australia from scratch, there is no base point design to start one from the US.
The car in China does not meet US regulations, so it can't be sold in the US.
I don't know the rules in Australia about importing cars, but the only way for the near-term future you can get a sedan is to import it from China.
@@rayrussell6258 Thanks for the info, greatly appreciated.
Just bought a Fiesta ST with 97k miles. They were killing it with the Focus & Fiesta. They'd be better off competing with Corolla/Civic/Golf buyers.
I bought one of the first CVs out of St. Thomas, ON. it was a fantastic car that led to many police, taxi and privates. am not confident Ford can do it again.
Strangle to see this in my suggestions as I wasn’t looking for it,but I just saw this car a few days ago (prototype)for the second time in about a year. Very good looking vehicle and I feel it would sell well in North America.
There have been taurus's seen testing around Detroit,,,I have seen articles and photos,,,that was a few months ago
@@gsprings43 Normal stuff; I'm a Ford retiree, we always do some testing of production cars pulled off the assembly lines. Those were the China cars, not cars planned for US.
About the only way that testing would have anything to do with US plans is if they put electric motors in them. Under the current CAFE law, it is impossible to sell gas-engine sedans here, especial larger ones. In that event, it could be something someone is trying to get approved for production 4 or 5 years from now.
The video was a hoax, they used images of Farley, but notice they had no audio of him talking about any Taurus. Most of the video background was Rivian EV product, not Ford product. There was no such announcement about any US Taurus returning.
@@rayrussell6258 thanks for the explanation.
Thanks for this, I looked and found no such evidence either. This is some [at least partially] AI-generated clickbait noise and we all fell for it.
Good on Ford to do this. They see there is still a market for low slung turreted sedans, even as the market returns to pre war practicality and interior roominess as 1930's and 40's cars are similar to today's crossovers and SUVS.
Ford cannot build a Taurus in the US competively so it won't sell here. Ford never stopped building and selling Taurus in China and the Middle East.
yes they could build those Taurus competitively, and still could in a free market. But Obama/Biden passed a new CAFE law that forced the discontinuation of inexpensive small, medium and large cars and instead requires expensive EV's be built and sold. Ford decided the market will not accept $50K EV Fiestas, and they are right.
There are no CAFE laws in China and the Middle East.
For those who didn't know, Ford Taurus only went away in the US market only. It's still being produced . I helped build them.
I purchased a 2010 Taurus new and had it for 7 years. Only in the shop once for a recall repair. Good luck Ford! I hope this is a reality in the USA. And, a fully loaded version with ambient lighting and a V8 that doesn't need Premium gas. Lol
People aren’t ready to give up sedans nor gas powered vehicles .
Bring back the crown Vic v8 n all.
🚨🚔
Hopefully the new Taurus will have Base prices in the low 20’s
Its about time (the Taurus comes back). Not everyone needs or wants a SUV or truck. Now if they could also find a way to bring the Crown Vic back.
This new Taurus is only available in the Middle East, where, we guess, the market still demands one.
And I think what killed the windstar was the name change and the different engine as well. It’s a name that was well known and loved by a lot of us.
Now what I think would be interesting is after ford brings back the Taurus bring back the crown vic and the contour.
I also would like to see the 2.7 v6 ecoboost that's in the f150 the engine for this new Taurus and the explorer and mustang. That may never happen but wishful thinking here.
The Contour was a solid car.
Thank you! Every crossover looks the same, none are dynamic. Bring back cars from American mainstream brands!
Bring back the Taurus SHO. The 400hp 3.O litre engine currently in the Explorer ST would be a rocket in the Taurus.
I’m actually excited about the Taurus coming back! Can’t wait to see it on the road again.
This video is fake. Ford is not brining the Taurus back. Most of the clips shown are of the Chinese Taurus that has been on sale over there for years.
From what I’ve read the Ford Taurus is only being sold in select international markets mostly in the Middle East.
But on the plus side the new accord looks like a ford so if ya really want a ford car just get an accord.
Its about time now I will get a new car as long as it's gas powered. No Garbage EV s.
My father had abeige type color 1988 Ford Taurus and till this day, the car was very reliable and comfortable as you're seated ready to roll. I will be keeping an eye out for the new Taurus for sure.

The Mercury Marauder is my dream. And the SHO.
Wow AI can't even pronounce sedan properly.
It's about time the realized not everyone wants an SUV or cross over. They should have never stopped production of sedans.
If Camrys are the only option, that is what a lot of people will buy.
Imagine a young couple with a baby going to a Ford dealership today. "We are looking for a new car" How about a Mustang?" "No thank you!" How about an SUV?" "No, we will be on our way! Lets go look at Toyotas, they have a nice selection of cars!"
Well said, but your comment is rocket science to that moron Jim Farley.
If your gonna build the Tarus , may as well build the Flex . Same platform. You cant drive 2 miles without seeing 10 of them . Absolutely an amazing vehicle.
I had a 2016 Taurus and it really Surprised me how smooth and fast it was. I traded for a 2019 Model and it is every bit as fun and fast and comfortable. But he I didn't know they were discontinuing it in 2019 so I had to buy a used Low milage one But it has been great. I hope the new one will be the same quality.
I had a 2015 SHO. Best car I ever owned. Don’t make many changes to that body style and performance!
This is good news. Even though they are popular not everyone wants or needs a truck or SUV, especially if you live in an urban area or don't need the extra space.
Hopefully it ends up with a base model that not only mean fleet sales, but something durable and not overloaded with unnecessary nonsense.
