Hi Stu thanks for you're continued updates. I live on Costa Blanca and have done for some 9 years. Unfortunately I live in an area where everyone speaks English, even shop keepers and check outs want to practice there English which is a shame, but nonetheless we try to impasse some with our Spanish.
The reason for the comment, is that whilst in a Sabadell bank branch the other day an elderly confused man, was sat with one of the senior members of staff. We were not earwiging but part of the conversation was heard. The man was trying to send a large amount of money to an account in the UK on the promise of a big return. The man was convinced that it was a genuine offer.
The kind member of staff informed him that it was a scam and the bank wouldn't send the money.
The poor old man shuffled out of the bank. Thanks to Sabadell for not going through with the request and protecting the customer from potentially a massive loss.
It's also a reminder that there are scammers out there who will target the old and vulnerable to try and convince them that they are genuine. The old adage still remains, 'if looks to good to be true, it probably is.' Cheers

Ireland's not in NATO and spends less than Spain with a huge Atlantic coast with dozens of internet cables not guarded.

I worked developing photos commercially doing 1800 rolls a night it was very common to have surprisingly "over exposed" photos go through for "quality checks" and the letter saying their rolls were "overexposed" and could not be processed. 😜

Hi stu and guests from brooklyn, ny. 30c today, i put the ac in the window, ready for summer now. A little late but a thought on overpopulation. Generally it’s true in cities, but less or scarce populations the further away from the inner cities you travel. As long as governments offer adequate and affordable public transportation to cities from the outskirts everything should be ok. People can work, shop, etc. conveniently.

most first world countries have an unsustainable birth rate and are in 'native' population decline. Other countries though such as African countries are as usual in population boom. I'm unsure if they fully make up for the other countries decline but they will certainly temper any decline in global population.
I live nearly 2000 miles away from my mother and i talk with her almost everyday and even when i dont we have sent messages and I'm 41 and been living in my own place since i was 16. I think it has to do with upbringing in whether a person feels close to, and prioritises their family connections or not.

World population already goes down this year actually. It is just that we do mismanage property and specific areas (i.e. nice warm beaches) are a little rare.

Regarding Spain's military expenses, it kind of makes me mad. We have to pay crazy prices for medical care/prescriptions (That were developed here in the US by taxpayer dollars, but cheaper in Spain!) Yep my insurance when I lived in Spain didn't cover my medications, but they cost LESS than my co-payments for the same medications in USA. So we pay for "World Security" but we can't have socialized medical care? That's nuts. I'm still planning on moving back to Spain. LOL

The England game was starting at 9pm Spanish time, so the English customers would probably have eaten by then and not thought they were taking up dining space.

There was a 12-year difference between my youngest siblings and it was weird that while I moved out at 21, they stayed until their late 20's. But I never had to deal with who's spending the night/weekend with me! LOL In my late 20's while in Spain, I remember having to sneak into my "dates" homes as not to disturb their parents. Awkward.

You sound a bit like Kelsey Grammer's character 'Frazier'. He was once asked to endorse some sort of spa bath, and wouldn't do so until he, and his immediate family had used one, and found that it was worth having.
    You've got morals...good for you.

Folks in Spain are getting tired of foreign money driving up the cost of living via real estate grabs along with hordes of tourists coming to certain areas of Spain......That can happen anywhere in the world.

Embarrassing. Is it any coincidence that air force planes break down when it is the least funded in Europe.
I don't agree with you that heads of state should board commercial flights, it puts the other passengers at risk of a jihad suicide bomber.

Illegal immigration is small in the UK compared to legal immigration. We need the latter to keep our public services going, it's a big conundrum

Human reproduction is on the decline, as the male sperm count is declining, and more countries are legalising abortion.

We were 1,000 million people in 1800 and 1,700 million in 1900. 6,000 million in 2000 and above 8,000 millions now. It scares.
