The Four Freshmen, no matter if they add or lose a member; their sound, style, chords and harmony are ALL THEM and they've kept it that way through the years! And that's why we're back to hear them again, thanks for posting so we can hear, evoke memories and enjoy them all over again! That last song always gives me goose bumps and tightens my throat, as I watch first a couple of men, then the whole audience STAND in honor of our Country's Star-Spangled Banner! Thanks, men, it was heart-warming! Bravo!
Love-------LOVE-------the sound of The 4 Freshmen, no matter which iteration it may be. it's a sound of comfort-----of 4 part harmony we just don't hear enough . --------No matter which group it is, I say 4 Freshmen, Forever ! -------MJL, 76 y/o
I think this is one of the best Freshmen groups. Obviously, they and others have been total inspired by the original Freshmen, which in themselves were hard to beat.
I worked at the fair in 1953 across the street from the coliseum, and i got to see them do there air checks in the morning and there shows at night. There is a copy of the fair poster setp 4 thru 13 1953 on the internet,
The Four Freshmen are very talented, no matter who joins the group. BUT, you don't get that kind of perfect phrasing and breath control together without a lot of practice, and it shows, bravo guys!
musicianship wise...yes, I would agree, but sound wise...they don't have Ross's sound singing those changes! 22 is my favorite next the the original group!
Yes 22 was fab for pure vocals. I keep their album Sessions on my phone and Bob's singing on How Do You Keep The Music Playing and Brian's on If I Only Had a Brain are non pareil. Brian also sang Once in a While on other albums that was one of the sweetest versions ever. But for pure Jazz arrangements this group, well the one Mike Meisner was in, was tops period. I'm 82, bought my first Freshmen album in 55 ($ 3.20 Canadian) and still play their music weekly.
My favorites from this Candy 5:58 Unforgettable 7:58 Love Dance 22:30 Angel eyes 43:34 Day in Day out 40:32 Other great freshmen songs: Day by Day Over the Rainbow In this whole wide world After you
They are entertaining but lack the sparkle the original four had with the off note harmony sound that was so distinct. I was a DJ when the Four Freshmen hit the air so l pushed everything they did. It was almost a mania! Here came the Four Lads!! What happened to good music?

The BEST of T HE BEST!
I was brought into the Freshmen by the sound of group 22. This group, 19, is VERY good!

Amazing! Group19? I am very happy to see the group that Mr. Alan Maclntosh joined. Thank you so much.
Fantastic! Keep it up, guys! I'll be coming to your next concert!
Simply breathtaking.
Kevin is one of the best trombonist ever to pick up the horn
His voice melts me
I never tire of any iteration of the group, BUT I think group 22 was the best......even better than #1, #2, #3.

22 solo voices are better that the originals...
You would get no argument from me!

Why did Bob Ferrara shave his head?
He looks much younger with this cut.
Would this be in the late 90’s?
1996
What year was this?
The end of the tape says it was 1996 .
The 4 Freshmen are dead - who are these people?
Replacements.
