Hi there, and welcome to my project to "uncut" Black Mesa! Black Mesa was a crowning achievement for modding for sure, but it felt like it was lacking a little in some areas, particularly Surface Tension. For those of you that were not aware, Black Mesa's version of Surface Tension cut out a map from the original which was integral to the story's progression. Its replacement felt rushed and poorly implemented. My mod attempts to add that little something back into the game. I took the liberty of re-adding the cut chapters from Surface Tension as I feel their omission strongly harmed the story and really damaged the tone of Forget About Freeman. I've given them the same treatment Black Mesa gave everything else. This mod currently adds 40 - 50 minutes of gameplay and story to Surface Tension, improving the Black Mesa experience and it's overall narrative. It integrates seamlessly with the Black Mesa campaign too, just like it should. Why not give it a whirl?

This developer had an On a Rail Uncut beta out, but ended up being admitted to the BM team initially for multiplayer mapping, but potentially for other tasks (such as integrating the two Uncuts into vanilla BM) when he's finished. There's a big NDA between the devs and Valve regarding the game being Greenlit on Steam (and possibly other things), so nobody knows much what to expect from him or how the team is handling Xen and the next "complete" release, so there's that.
The On a Rail Beta has been release, if you're looking towards to trying it.

It's been 15 years man.... aahhhhh good old days... back when I was only 1...lol
Also, back in the steam puzzle area, an Apache helicopter crashed into the roof. Later, when the guard talks to you, the screens show some extra fighting. If you noticed, the whole time, you were just going along the road all the way to forget about freeman. I think you can tell how much work the creator worked on his maps... I remember when it was just an ambitious idea... I love how much attention TextFAMGUY1 is getting, because he totally deserves it.
At about 6:30 you sounded like a midget from Borderlands dying. That is fucking hilarious!
Watching your playthrough, you had missed a few things. First, back in the garage scene, one of the marines were impaled on a rebar. During the fight with the big tank, you broke the script by destroying the tank, since the manta was supposed to destroy that by air. There were several hidden areas which had some extra goodies, and also, near that TOW launcher, a harrier took off in the backround. One thing that you should do is let the enemies fight it out, then mop up the survivors.

as i understand, the mapper had to leave when they where finnishing up the surface tension. they had to cut it short and search for new mapper before they could continue.
You should add this to your Black Mesa playlist in the right spot if you can! :D
I really like this uncut version of Surface Tension. It brought back some nostalgic memories from when I played the original HL. By the way, the same person that made this mod is planning on making an uncut version of On A Rail as well. Maybe when it comes out you could play that as well.

ah yes, the nightmare of a chapter in half life 1. it took me days with breaks to get myself to have the motivation to finish the chapter. as im writing this, im on lambda core and i've lost motivation to finish the game, i just skipped the black ops assassin part using god mode cuz im too tired of this shit
I don't understand why they didn't include all this on the original black mesa surface tension level, people who didn't played the original half life, would've had missed out a lot
A little late, but the reason that so much content was cut from Black Mesa's vanilla Surface Tension was because the mapper that was in charge of those sections had to leave the team during development.

Can you please reply black mesa, the game is finally completed and has the full ending. Also it would be a good throw back to the start of your Channel.

At least this game lets you go at it in your own way and not just say "game over" every time you do something you are not supposed to do. I hate those games. The new Medal of Honor Warfighter game is horrible.
