    Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is an action-adventure stealth video game produced by Konami Computer Entertainment Japan for the PlayStation 2. It was released in late 2004 in North America and Japan, then in early 2005 in Europe and Australia. It was the fifth Metal Gear game written and directed by Hideo Kojima and serves as a prequel to the previous installments. Set in 1964 (thirty years before the events of the original Metal Gear), the story centers on the FOX operative codenamed Naked Snake as he attempts to rescue a Russian rocket scientist by the name of Nikolai Stepanovich Sokolov, sabotage an experimental superweapon, and assassinate his defected former boss.

    This game much like MGS2 is extremely detailed for a game that released 15 years ago, so I hope you enjoy this part 1 of 2 covering a total of 46 Details in what's arguably the best Metal Gear game.
    P.S. Thank you for 100,000 subs, love you all! 💙

      I always love looking back at the MGS games from time to time so I've had a blast with this and the MGS2 one.
      Any chance of an MGS4 version later down the line? I've not really seen anybody show off the details in-depth for MGS4 so I think I could learn a lot from that if it's worth it.
      Either way, keep up the great work and I can't wait for the part 2!

      There are two reasons for it, if not more:
      1) gameplay (RF allowed you to bypass vast parts of the level by blowing up obstacles, or break the game by making the end inaccessble)
      2) performance: with high-end graphics, having too much debris, will drop the performance, especially in multiplayers. Older graphics can get away with less convincing damage portrayals.
      3) making extras can be hard to do convincingly and costs a lot without adding much to the game, unless you make it the main focus.

      @@ElricSowrd twin snakes is notoriously bad, since they patched old level design not made for mgs2 gameplay into it, most of the bossfight are broken due to this
      And the cutscenes? My pick has to be when the president of arms tech Kenneth baker says "I forgot", and snake goes full retard, wiggles about for 15 seconds, almost falls over, then aims his fucking gun at his head. Because professionalism.

      @@benfennell6842 You can just raise the Difficulty Level and/or switch the Radar Off.
      I like the MGS2 gameplay in the Remake, but my gripes with Twin Snakes: The visual looks dark compared to the Original and MGS2 that I can barely see.
      Some of the glitches kill the game: The camera near the stairs in the tank hangar always spot you no matter what you do, except if you use Chaff and if you get spotted even once you always get Alert 3 times, even if you Reset the game or die and exit.
      And some of the cutscenes are ruined: the Original cutscene with the tower bridge was dramatic. After the bridge gets destroyed the Hind appears and Snake runs toward the handrail where you're supposed to use the Rope, but in Twin Snakes after the bridged is destroyed a metal debris flies towards Snake, Snake chucks a Grenade at it, WALK TOWARDS the handrail where you're supposed to use the Rope, the Hind appears and there's NO MORE DRAMATIC RUNNING!
      And in the cutscene where Gray Fox dies, why does Snake scream his name before he gets crushed?

      Most of the ones I didn't know about I probably did by accident once without thinking about it after. Like wearing nightvision in "The Fury's cutscene" or killing The End. A lot of these I used as standard mechanics during my playthroughs, I loved to feed enemies rotten food, or throwing live snakes at them, just screwing around. The bat sonar one is the most surprising to me, I can't believe how smart Kojima is.
      The fact that enemies attack you when you have no ammo is why I love the escape sequence so much, because you have this pressure sensitive button and a hair trigger firearm with no ammo, Kojima's love for movies really pops in the tense encounters you can have just trying to stick people up with that paperweight.

    There's a way to make your max health bar bigger if you inflict damage then recover from it with time. Just a tip if you want harder difficulties with low starting hp to be easier :) Realized back when I was playing the game in 2005 or 2006. I think I had some bullet bees "eating away inside of body" or something else for a very long period of time then I noticed the health bar got bigger when I healed up. Might be some other way if I didnt remember right but you can do it with some type of damage :D

    • @SA80TAGE
      @SA80TAGE 7 месяцев назад +1

      any injury leaving red section that needs to be healed, if left to heal on it's own, will increase the life bar.... you can break your legs a max of 4 times at once, or keep grenading yourself. Just lie down and keep your stamina up and you'll regain health. Same thing worked with poison, you could immunise yourself before facing The Fear... best done with max life bar though as it can still kill you.

    Oh, Gosh! I'm elated to see this game. Thank you very much for having made this nice video! How can a game be THIS good!? I can't describe how much I deeply love this game. MGS3 is my very favorite one, in the entire gaming industry (and I'm not exaggerating). Hideo Kojima is a true video game developer legend, for having gifted us with the _Metal Gear_ franchise (and, mainly, MGS3!).
    I'd like to highlight some of the facts that make me consider MGS3 to be my most favorite game:
    a) all the amazing dialogs between Snake and Sigint, Paramedic, Eva, Major and The Boss, as well as the oral expressions of the soldiers and the bosses (Cobras);
    b) the great playability, with the free roaming system, together with the fact that we can replay the game with basically all the prizes and items collected in past playthroughs;
    c) the sophisticated camo index system, which I consider to be the best in the entire _Metal Gear_ franchise. I like pretty much the fact that we can permanently have the bosses camos, specially The Sorrow's "Spirit" camo, which happens to be my favorite, stealth-wise (it replenishes our stamina by non-lethally choking human characters, besides being amazing, when combined with the "Infinity" facepaint and the "Stealth" prize: the supreme stealth capability. Yay!);
    d) the Cobra Unit battles, specially with The End and The Sorrow. The End manages to be my most favorite boss, in a game: a true nice hunting match, in the woods, with sniper techniques. The Sorrow happens to be another very favorite of mine. Actually, Kojima was so bright with The Sorrow's battle that I must admit that I really feel sadness and a terrible existential emotion, regarding the possibility to harm or to kill someone, even though this is a game. The first time I played MGS3, I was careless with the stealth objective of the game and, unfortunately, happened to take down some soldiers. It broke my heart to see a soldier in that pond with The Sorrow screaming something like "My neck! My neck! Oh, Gosh... I shed tears, in this part of the game. The Sorrow really got me in the soul and I really like his lesson, regarding the casualties and atrocities of the war;
    e) the realm of the story in the woods, together with the depiction of the Cold War;
    f) the gorgeous soundtrack of the game, composed by Harry Gregson-Williams and Norihiko Hibino. I'm addicted to The Fear's and The Fury's music, as well as the Zaozyorje Forest BGM (Caution Mode). Besides, I must say that the ending theme of the franchise, with some "oriental touch" to it makes me shed some tears, because of so much beauty, with that breathtaking ending and main storyline;
    g) the pure stealth objective of the game: no alerts, no human kills, no human serious harm and no violence induced by our character (Snake);
    h) the cinematographic cutscenes that add a lot to the overall excellence of the game (and the franchise);
    i) the loyal design of the guns and the nice weaponry workings, even though, after my first run, I only used the non-lethal weapons (Mk 22, Mosin Nagant and, later, the EZ Gun) against human foes (I took The Sorrow's lesson to heart);
    j) the nice ranking system of the game. I was addicted to always get the "Markhor Rank", so that I could get the most out of the game (and to get the EZ Gun! Yay!), enjoying to get all the vegetables, fruits, medicine plants, animal species, including the infant snakes (Solid, Liquid and Solidus) and, of course, the Tsuchinoko!;
    k) the menu system, to change Snake's camos and backpack items, that showed loads of details of the items that were carried by Snake;
    l) the character animations, like the ones we see with Ocelot's SAA revolvers and Johnny (prison at Groznyj Grad); and
    m) all the finest and smart details, like the ones depicted on this video, that make this game to be timeless and absolutely wonderful.
    Thank you very much, Kojima and Konami, for having given us such a bright and powerful gaming experience. MGS3 is the best game, ever. Love it; love it; love it, from the bottom of my heart.
    PS: don't forget to add the nice box technique to put out the fire on Snake's body.
    By the way, commenting the 17:36 phrase: "COBRA"!

    The best game in series. What Kojima and his managed to pull off with the PS2 is nothing short of amazing

    And I thought I already knew everything, but you managed to taught me some, on a 15 years old game. I'm astonished, how far they went into details back then. Kojima's touch.

      @Thy Gamr my man! I honestly wouldn't consider Absolution to be a hitman game. Too linear.

    Still one of the Best Games to Ever Release and part of the reason is because of How Damn Detailed it is! Thank You, Kojima.... Oh and By the way, "Cobra" 🐍
