Hello! Paul here, thankyou for uploading such a lovely video of Paupers' Ladder :-) one thing I spotted though when you defeated the bandit - when you win a fight, you get to choose only 1 of the 3 rewards (so in this instance you either put the card in your Trophy Room, keep the Gems or collect Equipment, but not all 3).
Ah damn you're right 🙂 totally forgot about that! In a later video (uploading later today) I realise this to a certain degree, but still continue allowing myself to put an enemy into the trophy room AND collect one of the other possible rewards. Definitely sped the game up somewhat! Pinning your comment - it's a pretty big error I made here. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@lone_adventurer ah thankyou so much! Annoyingly I'm unable to get into my Bedsit Games account on RUclips for some reason, so I'm posting from this one instead :-D I'm so happy you've enjoyed the game, these videos have sold a good few games this last couple of days!!
@@TheDungeonDive well just brought PL plus the expansion and already have qftlp plus whq st, so almost have the complete set lol! But I'm never satisfied cause I always look for my next game to get😂
Just wanted to thank you and Daniel from the DD for introducing this game to me, currently waiting for it to ship to the US from the UK haha shipping is a killer 😂
Lo tech or not you should try whenever possible to make a proper timestamp index. Most people appreciate not having to scroll with a finger across the glass surface of their phones. 4:00 main goal 4:50 solo setup 9:00 your two protagonists 11:50 card example 14:30 moving diagonally to NE is not allowed I think. You must move up first. 15:00 combat 17:00 next round 17:20 swamp encounter - ectoplasm 18:00 chest 18:20 timer 18:58 next round Great to see a developer not use uniformly random pile of crap but instead using region-specific loot. It seems to respect European table standards as well, you don't need a football stadium to play this. Thanks to daniel's top rpg video or else I would have never heard of this title... main question is of course where to buy the MOON TOWERS SOLO EXPANSION??
I have 2 problems straight from the start, neither related to the gameplay which hasn't started yet. First off, the board makes me physically ill. The box art is so delightful, it's a pity the spaces been reduced to blocks of colour with the actual landscape type subdued into tiny rondels. Secondly the theme is woefully contrived. Why was a weird contest to decide the next ruler been deemed necessary when the gas miners are still poor and exploited? It's only a game, some will say, but some internal logic in the narrative is required, and sadly it is inconsistent and makes no sense. It's enough to totally put me off the game unfortunately which is disappointing.
Of course not every game is for everyone, but I'm a fan of this one. I like the theme quite a bit and find it charming rather than contrived. I would say the designer is a one-man show and that he has produced these games all on his own and successfully distributed them is incredibly impressive. Perhaps you didn't know that, but I personally wouldn't want to describe someone's passion project as making me physically sick. Our community tends to be more supportive than that. All that said, I wish you well on whatever adventures you choose 🙂
@@lone_adventurer " I personally wouldn't want to describe someone's passion project as making me physically sick." To be fair to myself, I said the colour palette of the board made me feel ill. Having studied the visual arts, and graduated in Fine Art (Painting) I'm aware that colour is a subjective issue. I wasn't exaggerating, however, even if it sounds harsh. It was simply a statement of how the board affected me. I still think the criticism of the design choices made is valid. If the designer produced their own artwork, they did themselves a disservice by not showcasing their talent on the gameboard. There is a contradiction in the narrative, but that is a fluff problem which contradicts the backstory of the character you picked. I doubt anyone else will give a monkey's about that but it is a stumbling block as far as I'm concerned. Trials are a stock theme of fantasy setting, as is a tale of rags to riches, so no problems per se with that. I'll refrain from further comment about the theme, because while again I think it is fair criticism, it is socio-economic in nature and it would not be fair to drag the comment section into a political discussion. Overall I'm disappointed from a personal perspective, as I started watching with high hopes for the game. Most of the comments are positive and I totally understand why. The gameplay looks solid enough and animal companions are right up my street. TL;DR for the designer: Get a proof reader and let your art skills shine on the board.
@@lone_adventurer FWIW I have edited one comment I made about the colour palette which I agree was uncalled for, and unreservedly apologise for having overstepping the mark.

@@grebn Glad to head it! The more you sell, the more motivated you'll be to make expansions 😉 (Already pre-ordered the next one, by the way!)
why is moon towers not available from your website paul?
Nice to see this get more coverage.
Wouldn't have bought it without your enthusiasm for the game!
@@lone_adventurer It is a very special game. A quintessential Dungeon Dive game - simple, unique, odd, whimsical and adventurous.
And an easy purchase at the price. That said, I've already pre-ordered the upcoming expansion 😁
Great video. Thanks for sharing. I've just purchased this game along with the expansion so will definitely be playing it soon!
Awesome - enjoy the game! There's another expansion available for pre-order right now? 😉
Such a lovely game! This game is climbing up my favorites list 😊
Such a nice, chilled out game 🙂👍 thanks for commenting!
Just seen this on Dungeon dive, great minds think alike! Looking to get this myself😊
Indeed 🙂 thanks for watching!
I think this, Quest for the Lost Pixel, Secrets of the Lost Tomb, and WHQ Silver Tower are the definitive Dungeon Dive games.

This seems a chill game. You aren't the only one who loves this game it seems.
Super chill 😎 the game does seem to have quite a dedicated following 👍

I think you might have advanced the round when you were telling us about how to gain time without taking a turn
Yup sounds like something I would do 😁 luckily I'm playing on easy mode so I don't think it's gonna cause me too many problems!
