I wanted to surprise my husband with something, I was unsure of to begin with, for Father's Day, and not to my surprise.. he hated it! In all honesty, this moment was so incredibly funny, sweet, and it definitely will be something we will cherish for many years to come. On the kid side of things, Lucas tried on some socks and shoes, and he looked like a marionette, which had us all laughing!

I have been baking bread for over 40 years. Just brush some butter on top of loaf when first removed from oven and top will be soft.
Exactly what I was thinking. People are so used to store-bought bread and its softness they don't know the texture of real bread.

My husband is a percussionist. We raised 3 sons, 2 of them are great percussionists as well. We always had some sort of drums or set in our basement. When they moved out and would come back for a visit. (The drummers moved out of state) I would realize how much I missed them once the sound of drums came up the stairs.

You can buy sound dampening pads to put on the drums to make it less loud. It’s awesome that you can both play! I would love to see the girls reaction to the drums, mom and dad playing, and them playing. I also HAVE to see Cam play lol.

Your bread looks fine! Brush the top of the loaf with melted butter. It will soften up.

Great video. I love homemade bread fresh out of the oven with melted butter on it or butter and honey mixed together, and it has been so many years since I have had any. Yours looked really good. My son is a drummer. We embraced it and negotiated with our neighbours to keep everyone happy. You can get some dampening pads to go on top to muffle a bit! 😅

Bread looks perfect and as for the drums ......AWESOME.
Just cover your bread with a towel and let it cool off, then the crust will soften up naturally. Can't get a bread out of the oven and have it soft. In most cultures around the world, a good crunchy crust is very desirable 😅

Good job on the bread! I went to culinary school and they taught us to always check the internal temp of the bread to see if the bread was done. It should temp out to 190-200 degrees Fahrenheit. Happy bread making☺️

That is not over cooked. If you rub some butter over the top after removing from tin it will keep your crust soft

As a Mama to a son that drums, I say you totally need to keep it! You both have drum skills, and it's a great form of exercise too! As much as you both love music, and love to exercise, you should go for it. And who knows, one or all of the kids may enjoy them! Who knows Jess, you could be the next Sheila E! I make homemade bread all the time, a recipe passed down from several generations in my family. instead of melted butter on top we use a little bit of crisco on top when it's hot. Use a baggy for your hand not to get too greasy and put some crisco on it and spread it over the top. It will be golden brown and soft. We don't use melted butter because we don't prefer it but you can still use it too. And it doesn't look over baked it looks great!

Austin, please learn a routine and play for us. Jess, I can't get used to seeing you wear a sweatshirt with slim shorts. In my area, if you wear shorts it's way too hot for a sweatshirt and the other way around. If it's cold enough for a sweatshirt then no way you wear shorts. Lol. That dollhouse is cute. Lucas didn't like trying to stand in socks but the tapping of the sandals seemed to enthrall him. Do Micah and Paige help him practice walking?

This was a fun video. The bread making ( jealous ), the goofy kids and sandals, and a surprise to all of us... Jess can play better than Austin... by what was demonstrated ! I say, if you can, attempt to keep it and perhaps you can find out if the kids have any musical talent in them, or perhaps something else. But I will say, at least on 1 of the drums, you may want to look into a dampener or getting it checked for it mainly sounded alright, boom boom budum crash boom. Sorry, not sure which one it was but one of them sounds off.

They are pricey but there are electronic drums that look acoustic now. They are nice and you have sound control.😊
