An actual pair of Tweets that appeared at around the same time as this episode: *Random User*: If you kill Rory again this episode, I'm getting my pitchfork. *Steven Moffat*: You'll have to PULL IT OUT OF RORY first!
I read something INCREDIBLE on tumblr: *When River was badassly shooting the Silence in the end and then turned her head away from the Silence she forgot them but Rory saw the Silence and got scared and she shot behind her. RIVER SHOT SOMETHING BECAUSE RORY WAS SCARED AND DIDN'T EVEN LOOKED AT WHAT OR WHOM SHE SHOT!!! GODDAMN ! I LOVE HER!*
Did you notice the link between series 5 episode The Lodger and this 2 parter? Well it was the Silence's empty spaceship which was on top of Craig's flat. That's why it was empty with the auto pilot going crazy. They had already killed the Silence. I did not notice till way later but trust me Series 6 is going to be a whooper. Can't wait un till you see where it's all going :)
I've always assumed that the Time Engines that the Silence had were also how they manipulated the Tardis into exploding in The Pandorica Opens, too. It was never explained how they did it in the show, but considering the effect it had on the Tardis in The Lodger while just trying to find a new pilot, I don't think it's a stretch to imagine that they could have weaponised it.
As a military family member I figured you would get that the salute was wrong. It's a British style of salute while he's trying to pass as an American official. I love little touches like that.
I’m trying to learn to take it seriously. Unfortunately years growing up with Monty Python and Benny Hill being my only exposure to it has done its damage. Especially Benny Hill with his stupid grin saluting. It just reflexively pops into my head whenever I see it.
Other way around - the US armed forces salute in a similar was to the Royal Navy do with the palm down - the other British (and commonwealth) armed forces such as the Army and RAF salute like Rory did.
Your reaction at the end ha! Was defo a bombshell and a half! ...You finally got a full proper story in America too! 2 more episodes and you'll be on one of my very favorite episodes.
Remember a couple of episodes ago a certain somebody was afraid from things she has read that seasons 4 and 5 were the best?? Carry on enjoying Sess :-)))
I absolutely adore complex storytelling & most of the Moffat era (seasons 5-7, and then 7-9) is just one huge mystery that we slowly get the revelation to
It's just possible I may have told you before that your reactions are BRILLIANT!! There aren't that many for this era of the show and none will be as emotional, entertaining, funny and genuine as yours! The River love has nothing to do with it.........honestly!! Your reactions to River have left me buzzing though!! The Doctor/River moments were amazing too! Your intake of breath when they kissed was so real. His first kiss was her last. That's such sweet sorrow. Also you love the flirting!! That's another reason some people hate River that I don't have to worry about. This may be too good to be true!! It's a great start to the season, but with the variety in DW we're just as likely to get a silly pirate episode next. Actually we do get a silly pirate episode next! It's average but fine. Hyping up other episodes risks making them feel overrated for some people. Though with rewatches this season has elevated it's position to just below season 5 for me. What an incredible ending that was and your reaction to it OMG! I can already see you working things out, this is going to be so much fun to watch with you! Thank you for making this week a whole lot better. It's just possible I may have told you before that you are truly AWESOME!!
I think this is definitely going to my top five sesska reactions. Just the entire episodes. The River/Doctor moments! Any/Rory! Regeneration freak out (same)! Silence being creepy fuckers! Loved it, and your reaction was AMAZING. Also I adore Canton. I hope he got to get married in the end. And that scene with River and the Doctor... so sad. A first time and a last. Ugh. My heart. Alex Kingston is so amazing as River though, I love her. And this episode in general. It ties up some threads of plot from the previous series, while also asking a bunch of new questions. I know some people aren't fond of that, but I love the mystery and just the fun these two episodes have. Favorite moment - your reaction to River being a badass, to flirting, to the silence being freaky and that last WTF moment. Loved it. I get to experience all of these things again through your eyes and that's just a delight. Hope you're having a great day! Looking forward to next week (as always).
This is one of the creepiest episodes of DW. That part with the lady in the door!!! Definitely a horror film vibe. "Meanwhile in creepy town..." that astronaut breathing sounds like darth vader. I love your reaction to that little girl regenerating!!! One of the best moments!
Turned out she was actually pregnant but the twist in The Almost People partially explains it. The real Amy was genuinely pregnant but the doppleganger couldn't literally copy that, hence why it was pregnant and not pregnant at the same time.
@@LightLife4 you know... its no fun when you TELL. Luckily she has already seen that episode I hope. A simpe "Indeed, It did show. You will find out in future episodes". Key to watching reactions.... NEVER write what happends in a future episode, never, not even when the reactor gets that far. Only current or past episodes. Common internet manners.
@@CarolineForest If you're referring to Sesska Says chances are she's probably not that bothered if people mention a couple of spoilers, chances are others have seen it in its entirety and the likelihood is she knows that. River's 'and a last time' is really sad because it was the last time she kissed the doctor (because the Doctor was so surprised she knew it was his first time so it has to be her last)

Just found your channel. Glad you're enjoying the show so much. I won't mention spoilers, but as you're already aware of the minisodes, when the time comes to watch the two 50th anniversary special episodes at the end of season 7, be sure to watch the minisode "Night of The Doctor" first.
I am :40 seconds in I already hit like on the video button....thank you so much for doing these Doctor Who fans have become so negative, it is good to be reminded on why I love this show so much
This episode explains the momentary blip in the transmission made by Neil Armstrong, which he says in real life obscured him saying the 'a' part of 'one small step for a man'.
I love!!! the Doctor's Wife episode. It is just pure gold and one of my favorites from Nu Who. Used to be one of my top 3 favorites in Nu Who until the reign of the 12th Doctor (now I adore so many of his episodes). But still one of the top 10 favorites from Nu Who. Season 6 is full of amazing episodes. The story arc is one of the best.
Elizabeth Salvatore Yeh, I love how they ["SPOILERS, Sweetie"] in that episode! I'm enjoying the 11th much more, second time around. Ever since I heard there's a photo somewhere of Steven Moffat as a kid, a gangly, awkward kid, wearing a blazer with trousers too short, crazy hair and...a bow-tie. Suddenly his dream-version of the Doctor makes sense. And Matt Smith is comedy gold
AND ONE WHACKING GREAT BIG KICK UP THE BACKSIDE FOR THE SILENCE... That line always fucking kills me! The Doctor at his best! I actually remember this scene was kinda replicated in the Doctor Who Eternity Clock game. Had fun playing as River shooting up Silents.
Hi Sesska, really enjoyed your reaction, you were certainly really into this two-parter. At 2.58, oh no !!, Rory`s dead again, do you think they modelled him on Kenny from South Park or vice versa !! Lol :) At 3.45, your reaction to River & the swimming Pool, brilliant. I bet you thought that was never going to be mentioned again didn`t you. :) The tally marks were a big thing at the time, I bet if you ever manage to get to a Comic Con or Whovian convention, you will still come across fans with them. Plus of course you could get to meet a Weeping Angel up close & personal, now wouldn`t that be fun. :) At 5.35, your reaction to the Silence was great, wonder what Kevin would make of them given his reaction to the W.Angels !! Lol :) At 6.44-6.55 oh no !! the lady with the eye patch. As other`s have mentioned, your reaction to the unexpected regeneration was priceless !! Lol :)
That was a big episode. Lots of character work went down. Also really liked the actor who played the spaced out keeper at the orphanage. So much big stuff happened that will answered later. A fantastic episode. This is a very good series which has a couple of episodes I don't like but I won't tell you which ones they are because you might love the whole thing. Hope you do.
Another great cliffhanger, that's two in a row. The girl's identity is one of the key points in this series' deep, connected and at times dark story. As for next episode, it's a mix of right and wrong for me. I feel like it gets better towards the very end despite the highs and lows of earlier, but at the end of the day it's for you to judge :)
Episodes like this show that if Steven Muppet had made an A-to-Z storyboard like Strazynski did for Babylon 5, it could've been one of the greatest bits of TV ever. Instead, Davies's 'A-team in space' approach was better.
First time I watched the episodes with River and the Doctor, I wasn't into their relationship. But on subsequent viewings, have come to see how awesome she is and how... interesting their relationship is.
What? You weren't expecting a regeneration (besides The Doctor's interrupted one in the first part)? ;) The previous season was just the beginner course for this era of _Doctor Who_ timey-wimey mind-fuckery. As the line goes: This is where it gets complicated. I think you're going to like it, and I'm sure we're going to hear "WHAT?!" from you a lot. I'm certainly looking forward to it. :D You're awesome, Jess.
Great reaction vid. There's some more great eps coming up with awesome ploy twists which I won't spoil, all I'll say it you need to check them out very closely....

Yep. The Doctor said something like "Yes, very Aickman Road (Craig's road). Deserted, wonder how that happened, well, I guess I'm about to find out"
I WAS TODAY YEARS OLD WHEN I FOUND THIS OUT OMG
I've always assumed that the Time Engines that the Silence had were also how they manipulated the Tardis into exploding in The Pandorica Opens, too. "My old fella didn't see that did he? He gets ever so cross." A great line but easy to miss on first viewing.
who is she talking about?
eleven
Guessing it’s about her dad (Rory)
As a military family member I figured you would get that the salute was wrong. It's a British style of salute while he's trying to pass as an American official. I love little touches like that.

"You should kill us all on sight."
"God DAMMIT, Steve."
If we're giving names to the Silents, well, we had a guy called Sacred Bob in series 5 ... I think we should have Silent Bob in series 6.
How many Silents did I kill today without noticing...? 🤔
Confesssss!
The what?
Yaaaaas!!!! Forget the haters, Series 6 is reaction GOLD.
Yes it is gold.
Jeremy the story of series 6 is so real however you have to be clever and understand it to be able to enjoy it.
I have been waiting for "I can fix that" reaction since u started S5 !! and u didn't disappoint still gives me goosebumps
George Alexander it's absolutely priceless, the moment she realised she was regenerating I knew this was going to be good
Yeah, that moment always gives me goosebumps... except this time because I was too busy laughing at her reaction 😂😂
Haha "I have theories." Bless you for trying I bet :p
Yeah Sess come and fess up, were any of theories even close????? :-)))
"Archaeology... Love a tomb" 😂
River Song >>> Indiana Jones
Yeah, but where does she fit in with Lara Croft?
I think Lara Croft is better archaologist but River is way more badass.
The real hard choice is Indiana Jones or Natan Drake!
Ok, now I need to see an archeology contest between Lara Croft, River Song and, well... Bernice Summerfield!
Oh, Benny would win, of course.
Rory did a British salute. That's why it didn't look right.
Apart from the British Navy, that's the same as the US one.
Other way around - the US armed forces salute in a similar was to the Royal Navy do with the palm down - the other British (and commonwealth) armed forces such as the Army and RAF salute like Rory did.
TheKarlOshaughnessy Her husband is in the forces. The point is though that Rory isn't a soldier, so is obviously going to do it wrong.
Rory's dong it _right_ - he's just not dong it right for a US serviceman. That confused the NASA guys
Dave F That's what I mean, he says America salutes you to Americans, but not with an American salute.
River and Alex Kingston are amazing!!!! ❤
And the relantionship between her and Eleventh and Matt will always be in my heart 💔
Your reaction at the end ha! Was defo a bombshell and a half!

Possibly my favourite ending ever to a DW episode, and it's a great wtf-icing on the marvellous cake that is the 1969 two-parter.
Things I lose my shit over in this two-parter:
-River pretending the whole time like she didn't know exactly what they were investigating and who the little girl was and why they had a spacesuit.
-Little Melody/River yelling for help and to be rescued. She has pictures of her parents and was probably hoping they would save her when she saw them.
-The poor child living in that orphanage all by herself, and River having to relive all of the horrible memories (the ones they haven't taken from her) of living there as a child and being raised as a weapon.
-Both River and little Melody seeing their parents not recognize her while Amy is pregnant with her.
-Amy not realizing she is investigating her little girl's room who was taken from her, and was probably only allowed to keep those pictures of her so she would miss the parents she never got to meet.
-River mowing down all the Silents not just because they're a threat but because she has a personal against them (even if it's only in the back of her mind and she doesn't 100% remember them) since she was raised around them.
-Just the fact that River is as aware of what's going on in this episode as we are when we rewatch it. She knows Amy's pregnant, that Amy is going to be/is taken, that the girl in the suit who kills the Doctor is her younger self, and the Ponds who barely know her are her parents. And she has to act clueless to preserve her timeline even though it's probably really painful for her. She sees them as her parents and husband like we do when we rewatch it, but she's they don't know her like that yet. It's like she has our perspective of having already lived though it, like rewatching a movie while sitting next to someone who's never seen it. It makes rewatch great

THIS IS WHAT I LOOK FORWARD TO EVERY WEEK
My favourite part is when the Doctor goes "we're not going anywhere", only for him to lean into the Tardis. It's just perfect.
Agreed
What an awesome reaction. It actually feels like a cliffhanger when we know you've got a great episode to react to
I absolutely love this arc in DW - and your reactions are perfect as always.
Yassssssassssss Queen.... what she is a queen! 😁
I love re-living Doctor Who though you! Its awesome. Always love the reactions. Can't wait for next week. We need a TARDIS to get there immediately 😂

Love the way you always ask the right questions. I'd forgotten just how complicated that season's story arc was. So hang on.
whoop! whoop! Dinner and new DW Sesska review makes for an awesome combo ! Nicely done xx
Fun fact this was shot in monument valley the same location where a lot of westerns were filmed.

Aw, there's so many golden moments & unanswered questions when u watch this for the first time. I love series 6, I personally love the story arc :D
Seeing the little girl regenerating was a superb cliffhanger to end on, and it got everyone talking
I can't wait for Sesska's reaction to Rory in the Demon's Run episode. He's truly a force to be reckoned with.
Best WTF EVER!!!! lol

Excellent Reactions. I love the way you get into the comedy moments.

And my favourite episode... so soon... so so so soon...
Torchwood Boy, curse of the black spot? 😂
Torchwood Boy
And one of mine...The Doctors Wife?
Torchwood Boy Mine is A good man goes to war

in that episode!

19:27 The look and her face
Rory and Matt are pretty great friends in real life!😊
What a mindfuck.
Can't wait to see your reaction to Henry Avery 😉
HAHAHAHA your reaction at the end I can't
The last reaction was so adorable!
Really enjoyed your reaction to that episode :)
Yew ahhh taahhhh is the best way to say UTAH!!!!! hahahahahaha
Yep, the Silence, one of the few Who creatures that I’ve seen in my dreams.
Two more US filming locations: Valley of the Gods Utah and Glen Canyon Dam (UT/AZ border)! :)
I love how gay you were for river in the beginning because honestly SAME
At the end of episode, I involuntarily left my seat.
yeah, epic beard for the Doctor
Episodes like this show that if Steven Muppet had made an A-to-Z storyboard like Strazynski did for Babylon 5, it could've been one of the greatest bits of TV ever.
Instead, Davies's 'A-team in space' approach was better.
You would be so much fun to watch thing with. How do you not binge watch the whole thing?
Steven Moffat gives no fucks this season
well actually he gives a lot by the end but you know.
Your mouth was open so much i could see the breath come out of it XD
I've waited for you to see this Episode just for your Genuine Reaction for the Ending Regeneration.
you know, somewhere, every time Jess says, 'I DON'T LIKE IT!!' at a monster, Steven Moffat is like, 'SCORE!' lol
Omg, I just realized this series has "The Doctor's Wife"! I see much more WTFs in the future!
Omg your reaction at the end... 😂😂😂
To me, Day of The Moon is the best episode of the 11th Doctor
I love that you love River as much as I do.
Safe to say you find the Silence scarier than walkers then.
Possibly my favourite reaction to an end of an episode...
I loved the beginning! TOTALLY HOLLYWOOD!!!
First time I watched the episodes with River and the Doctor, I wasn't into their relationship. But on subsequent viewings, have come to see how awesome she is and how... interesting their relationship is.
I wish you had shown your reaction to the reason Canton was fired but other than that: great reaction as always!!!
The best part about this episode is that it explains why we trip over nothing some times it's a dead silence and we don't remember it's there lol
As a Utahn, I loved this episode.
What? You weren't expecting a regeneration (besides The Doctor's interrupted one in the first part)? ;)
The previous season was just the beginner course for this era of _Doctor Who_ timey-wimey mind-fuckery. As the line goes: This is where it gets complicated.
I think you're going to like it, and I'm sure we're going to hear "WHAT?!" from you a lot. I'm certainly looking forward to it. :D
You're awesome, Jess.
Especially at what happens at demons run, oh boy will that be fun
Welcome to series 6, where everything happens in both the right order and the wrong order. Time travel gives me a headache.
a year later, still love 19:25
havnt seen ur reaction yet but this is a good episode so I cant wait!!!!
Great reaction vid. There's some more great eps coming up with awesome ploy twists which I won't spoil, all I'll say it you need to check them out very closely....
OMG I LOVE YOUR REACTION!!!!!! :D
