I think my cousin was commissioned to do a bit of art for this book. He's Navajo, and the recent surge in Native American games is awesome and something he wishes he saw more when he was younger. Their culture is so rich but has been overlooked and downplayed for so long. Glad to see this featured here on the channel!
@@TheClericCorner turns out it was City of Mist that he did two pieces of art for, but he wanted to do art for this one but heard about it when it was already done
I think it would be fascinating to have other cultures like the Aztecs, Inca, Mayans, or Polynesians involved to explore this alternate history. Well given I'm not sure those other cultures would have the same gifts.
I would love to see more content about this game, I'd heard about it a while back but ended up not getting around to checking it out. As a Native myself (Klamath) I've worked my heritage into a few of my characters in varying ways, and I'd love to dive deeper into that :)
I'd never heard of this game before but based on what you covered so far, it sounds like a fascinating game and the artwork is beautiful! I'd love to see you cover more of the story and world building elements in another video!
I'd be interested in you talking about Masks: The New Generation. It's a ttrpg in the vein of the Apocolypse system based on young superhero teams like Teen Titans and Young Justice. I love the heck out of it and I'd love for it to get more exposure online. Monster Hearts is another one I really like as well.
We need more solarpunk ttrpgs. However, how do you make exciting combat and/or conflict in an inherently peaceful and un-selfish setting? Any tips on how to run this with a party that's new to altruism? I was thinking maybe exploration, such as exploring the ocean and maybe fighting evil spirits or evil robots? Evil robot spirits?
Try Ryuutama? That's been a really good change of pace for me since it's so much fun to see the look on a player's face the first time this happens during a travel check: Player: "Does a 4 succeed?" GM: "no, you lose half your hp and mp" Player: "half! What happened?" GM: "i don't know. Why don't you tell me how you got injured passing (insert short terrain description here)?" Then you just see the wheels spinning as the player realizes the possibilities. Also, the first time they look though the options and realize "famer" and "merchant" are class options.
My biggest issue with Coyote & Crow comes from my penchant for world-building and engineering background. To date, nobody has been able to tell me which nation is responsible for developing blacksmithing, and with it, metallurgy which is a must if you are planning to develop any form of electronic technology. You can handwave it with magic, however, you still have to explain how magic leads to handheld computers and heads-up displays.
Ask some, "If old tea is used tea, what is old ink?" When they say " used ink," it sounds like "You stink." You got yourself!

No way! If they did, tell them they did amazing!

What other Native American games have been coming out?

Absolutely! While personally would not be the expert on conversion, I'm sure there are many elements you can take and homebrew!
Dude this is so epic. Having beaten HZD only recently, I am so excited for this for people.
You absolutely did a really good job featuring this game. Huge props Ry
@@rjbramirez thank you so much!! Definitely wanted to do justice for the creative minds behind it!!
@@TheClericCorner hey Ry I tried sending you a discord message. Hoping to get some good YT advice from you!

If it does super well, absolutely! :)
I would love a video on the regions of the world! Is that the Aztec empire to the north of the map??
I was always curious about this game. Thanks for making a video on it!
More Coyote & Crow, please!

Absolutely one of my favorite settings. I can't wait for them to expand upon it and see more of this world!
Interesting video and Wonderful game ;)
Have recently been preparing to play some intro games with friends, and this is an excellent overview thanks! I'm excited to play this game.

I would love to see this as a video game, maybe an MMO. I'm tired of seeing only european medieval and viking being the only games ever made.
It's funny because vikings were from the european medieval era lmao just shows how restrictive our pop culture is
Genessee or Genesseye?
I-...😂
Ok, yeah that was long overdue. Lol!
Not Coffee but Chocolate instead...so almost the same
There ya go!
