Why I went back to a non Suspension wheel, you think it's a good idea?

- Today I talk about getting back into riding a non suspension wheel and why I chose it over the feet relaxing comfort of my V11.
#electricunicycle #gotway #inmotionv11 #begode #eucchronicles #exn
When the reason you ride is for fun, it's real important that the "fun" criteria be met fully.🍻
Absolutely 👍
You’re a purist, and I support your message. I want to grab my dream non suspension wheel, before they clear the shelves. This is a thought provoking conversation, because the purist hobbies have a long shelf life, IMO. Skateboarders or BMX enthusiasts would protest any possible adjustments. I believe that’s where EUC manufacturers could screw it up.
The perceived improvements to the EUCS hike up prices, which in my opinion creates an elitists class of riders, instead of a grassroots community.
I am curious on how this turns out, but the non suspensions have to remain on the shelves. Not only that, bring the shells back BEGODE!
Thanks
What a great comment You definitely gave me an idea to talk about for a future episode.
I'm happy just to get out and ride It doesn't matter what wheel I'm using to do it with as long as I'm enjoying myself but I'm definitely going to touch on this topic.
My next video I will be going on a distance ride to really test out the comfort level of switching back to a non-suspension wheel so I would definitely keep you guys posted.
Super instructional video Bro.. I'm not even a rider and your enjoyment and equipment knowledge (with your experience) makes me want to engage and learn how to ride. Good vibes..
I love my V12 HT. So versatile. Decent price. I'm selling my Master 50E come spring. Might have to get a back-up V12.
Nice I'm going to buy a master pro for spring. 💪
Brother Flip excellent video & viewpoints. The EXN was a Solid choice for a wheel. I want a suspension but if it doesn't happen this summer. I'm straight Rockin what I got for now. Let me know when your ready to make the journey down to Nyc. Peace & Blessings!
I really liked your message. Safety, both personal and in sharing the trail, is super important to me. The non-suspension wheel connection with the road totally resonates with me too. My V11 is like riding on a cloud, but the level of engagement with my riding is a lot higher on my Sherman. Bumps and surface structure are fun to navigate! Suspension wheels make it too easy. I like that 30mph road feel.
Glad your enjoying your new wheel and that weather looked great too perfect match!
Did I hear live streams incoming, man I can't wait your lives are epic! remember when you had like 30 guests on one stream (maybe not 30 🤣) but you know the one.
Always enjoy chilling with ya'll now matter the topic so I'll be there fosho!
Yes sir live stream will be coming back for sure I'm just trying to figure out what day to do them so I can stay kind of somewhat consistent and get my gas line up together but it is definitely coming back. Yeah I'm loving this wheel man It's great and combined with the wonderful weather that we're having all week expect to see a lot more videos. You know I appreciate your support man You're one of the best I would like to have you on the live stream too if you want That would be great.
Definitely would be down to be on a live stream in 2023, I need to upgrade my electric situation first. Primarily using my cellphone at the moment but a new computer along with a new wheel should be in the cards early next year. They just legalized you know what here in Minnesota and I'm getting into the chocolate bar game so things are looking high.. I mean up lol.
What tire do have on EXN? Video is crispy btw roads in NYC is different bro but would love to meet up for group ride here in queens.
The Michelin pilot street 2 and definitely let's link for sure I can't wait to ride in the city. Are we FB friends??
👍 it's cool you having the specs on the screen.
Agreed that did look 🔥!

Im getting the impression you love the exn😂
Its definitely the most bang for your buck wheel out there. Suspension wheels are great but at the cost of Extra weight and maintenance and cost.
At the end of the day its all down to personal choice and we're are lucky to have such a wide variety of wheels. I must admit I'm a bit of a gotway fan boy tho lol.
Great point I forgot to mention the headaches of disassembling a suspension wheel kind of mad I didn't say that in the video but that's another problem I had I didn't want to ever have to deal with a tire change for the V11.
I seen the teardown video for that and it looks like a nightmare just screws and parts all over the place😂
Yo Flip! The EXN will go down as a classic wheel because it's basically the last in the MSX line before they moved onto the whole Master design. Glad you're having a great time on thst wheel! I unfortunately feel my age nowadays when riding non suspension wheels, especially off road or poorly maintained streets, so I'm stuck haha. Keep riding and the videos going! 👊
Thanks man!! I feel your pain I went to a suspension wheel because of my knees and these horrible streets we have in NY. I never thought I'd be going back to a NS wheel but here I am. 🤣. I'm thoroughly enjoying the ride and power and also the look of this wheel. It's like an MSX and Monster V3 had a baby together and made this beauty.
So that guy did want to stop 🛑 and say proper hello 😂😂
Oops 🤣😂😭
@@Flip-Uno 😂
I see those EX-N vibes are rubbing off on you, it really is a super fun wheel even after 3K miles i can't get enough.
Yes they are why didn't you tell me how great this wheel is. 😂😂
@@Flip-Uno 🤣🤣🤣
Love my Sherman-S, but I still rock my OG sherman for the instant response.
Well, I can tell you that I ain't selling my ol' Nikola+ when I upgrade to a suspension wheel.
The EXN was a nice wheel in 2020, I always preferred it over the Sherman. But you know what's even nicer? Having that performance plus suspension plus improved quality and safety. All of the new wheels S22, V13, Master, EX30, Sherman-S, Master Pro, etc are superior to the EXN at this time. The V13 utterly destroys it for safety and new features, the EXN is obsolete in comparison. Suspension is the real deal, the more suspension wheels you try the more you will understand: not having suspension on your wheel makes about as much sense as not having it on your car, motorcycle or train.
Lastly - that line "I know how to fall" is only something rookies say. Don't kid yourself. Veterans know you don't get to choose how you fall, when, or why. More importantly - you don't get to choose how you land. You're not a ninja, come back down to planet earth. The reality of a high speed wipe is that you're on the ground dazed confused and sliding before you even realize something has happened. There are only two kinds of EUC riders: those who gear up before they have a bad wipe, and those who gear up afterwards. You should *strongly* reconsider using a full face helmet that is rated for the speeds you are capable of on the EXN.
Yea, I'm convinced I need suspension.
Yup I already snag a RSt for cheap. If someone is dumping their exn, commander for cheap in taking em. I ride trails to improve anyways. Suspension kinda muted the whole experience with it.
I love my rs the same over my v11. But I love the v11 as well haha. Having good street tires also make a big difference.
I rock your EUC rap when suiting up for a ride playa😎
What are you using to make that overlay?
⚡🤙🏼 *Such a nice lookin route though!* 🤙🏼⚡
Sometimes havin too much cusion/bounce takes away from ride feel.
Yeah exactly and like I said maybe with the newer suspension wheels they've probably taken care of that but especially with the V11 there's a little play when it comes to leaning back and forth and combine that with the suspension it just makes it for a weird ride sometimes.
I'm 60, my legs are fine, but not great. I'm getting a suspension wheel
I’m very happy to have got an EXN torque on a very good deal. It is a lot of fun. I like how compact it is for what it is, and I really don’t feel the bumps that bad. I’m watching for big ones, which suspension people should be anyway. It’s like my feeling on four wheel drive cars, I grew up in a snowy place and always felt like people get complacent and stop watching what they are doing, and now they are in a ditch because they felt like 50 in a snowstorm was a good idea because they have four wheel drive. I’d still watch where I’m going on a suspension wheel.
I used to think I preferred the direct connection to earth that non suspension wheels offer over suspension wheels (to mimick using legs as suspension skiing and snowboarding etc).. but at the end of the day especially if you're a trail rider more than street the fact is you can go faster and keep up your speed much easier over bumps etc offroad without slowing down..suspension allows us therefore to enjoy the ride more and ride for longer/ further more comfortably giving greater endurance..I cannot go back to a non suspension wheel now. It's a game changer for most people.. the only time no suspension is better is racing on a track with no pot holes as not having suspension saves weight.. but even on the street suspension is safer too in case you hit a pot hole at speed you're less likely to be thrown off . Most of the newest wheels are much more powerful
than these older non suspension wheels and are more fun..especially the begode extreme. The fun imho comes from the highest torque ever (absolutely mind blowing thrilling acceleration), and optimum agility with a 16" wheel plus ability to hit 50mph still.. or the ex30 or master for street.. the master is still winning most track races anyway.. all these suspension wheels also can adjust between softer offroad suspension mode or harder suspension mode for the street too
Plus, even street can be pretty bad and require a rider to slow down or have their joints eat the bumps.
what app is used for the data? speed, distance, elevation, etc. nice
Glad you are loving the wheel bro.
Good points on the fiberglass shield. I mainly got it to keep the wheel nice to one day sell it. Like you said, it scratched the shell because of how its not painted inside, I was not happy about that. I totally agree its ugly. It makes the wheel look like something out of space balls.
The goop that is around the seams of the shell is black silicone gasket. On one side its done on the outside, and it looks ugly af - I was lazy one day after opening my wheel. On the other side its done properly from the inside, and you can't really see it. I'm not sure if you would get much airflow from removing it, as the seams are screwed down pretty tight - but idk, and you'll need to remove it to open the wheel anyhoo.
You'll have to let me know how the wheel performs when it gets hot out. I added that second fan but I don't think it really helped all that much.
Im glad you have a wheel you enjoy riding and get a lot out of it. You defended your points well . The bouncy feeling of suspension does kind of take you out from feeling One with the wheel, with non suspension you feel the road and that in itself can be fun. I think you will look great in MTB helmet rather than spaceballs haha they look sleak, and active . Good video once again!
Thanks bro.. do you get that same feeling of bouncing while riding your Sherman S?? I'm curious to know if the newer wheels suffer from the same thing.
@@Flip-Uno it depends if you have your rebound set soft or hard. I know with both master and Sherman they were bouncy at first but I made my suspension harder by making it hard set on the rebound. Sherman S have not dialed in yet, but it’s close.
17:27 bro I busted out laughing as soon as you said that because I know you had said that before!! 😂 haha
Bro I'm the worst, but I'm definitely drawing a line in the sand enough is enough No new wheels :-)
@@Flip-Uno we can let the EXN slide since it's a used wheel so technically you didn't get a "new wheel" haha
For realz Bro. I love my EX.N HS. The power. Speed and range is more than enough for me. Bought over a year ago. My 2nd EUC. I'm looking to get my 1st Suspensione wheel. Maybe an EX30 or Commander Pro. I'll still ride the non suspension EX.N
After 1,000 plus miles on v11 I got the exn high speed and been driving it around nyc. Thankfully I spent a few months practicing/training in Florida before transitioning to the city. Cool video bro 🙌🏼
Edit: forgot to mention the obvious. My knees have to be hella bent in the exn..having them bent has saved me a handful of times cuz those pot holes are everywhere and back to back sometimes. Some days after long rides (90 + minutes) my knees def feel it. What I get for not having suspension but it is so much fun
Wrong-way was saying pretty much the same thing about the V13 without suspension which is good information to know should you own one and the suspension breaks for whatever reasons. Why NOT try
It out without suspension right? Different point of view.
What app are you using to show the HUD? It's showing you as riding below sea level in Albany. Is it getting data from your phone or from the camera?
Insta 360 and it's getting the data from my phone but you can by a GPS for the camera for a more accurate reading.
I said I would not buy a wheel in 2023. Well that was a big fat lie. While I was riding my latest wheel, a secondhand Abrams, I was already considering the EX30. But after the Abrams crash, I bought a new Veteran Abrams. And now I have put money on the Veteran Patton. I really need to sell a wheel. And that wheel will be the Extreme Bull X-Men, with pain in my heart.
The Commander Pro Max sure looks tempting as a high (long) range wheel. But do I need it...but me wants it.
I totally understand your pain but I'm drawing a line in the sand for right now It would be nice to upgrade to a 2022 or 2023 model wheel but like you said do I need it?
I'm good for now I'm just going to enjoy the summer with the wheels I have but I'm with you I definitely need to sell a wheeler too but for now I'm good. I am a fan of that extreme bull I really wanted to buy that wheel.
I got the v11 I just don't like how you have to pump the shocks now and then
I haven't pumped mine after I first got it but I haven't rode it in a while so I will check.
Haven't rode a non suspension wheel since I got my t4
I still can't believe that you are riding a got way 😂
@@Flip-Uno I know 😆
Put some more gear on dude
