I'll have to agree with you old man, though I am also hitting old codger status. I'll shall put it with sound of silence, cover: disturbed, and hurt, cover: Johnny Cash.
This was my favorite song when I was a little girl. This "POPPED" up on my feed and I couldn't believe it. I haven't heard Popcorn in 40 years. This is incredible.
Hi Charlie, me llamo Ángel y bueno también soy músico mexicano, espero poder compartir algún día material o tip´s para tocar y mejorar mi técnica, saludos :)
I will say this again, this is AWESOME!!! I loved this song when I was a kid, listened to it over and over again. Played the drums to it, but never metalized it. This guy kicks @$$!!!!!
Your sinister smile, ALONE, told me you had something in store for your viewers...and behold, you DID! You OWNED that moment! Your guitar was submissive and YOU were its MASTER OF CEREMONY! I WAS BLOWN AWAY! I CRIED, I was so MOVED!
Muchas gracias a todos!!! Más de 80,000 views!!! Pronto más videos... de la vida!!! Thanks a lot guys!!! Over 80K views!!! More vids soon!!! Rocanrol!!!
I'm your fan, unfortunately I'm in a terrible financial situation. But soon enough I'll get out of this bad situation and I will buy todoas their music, I think the max the way you play.
I'm a guitarist, a heavy metal fan, and also a lover of all kinds of music. This song was popular over some sort of cover/remix in the 80's and 90's somewhere. Listening to this and watching the videos makes me happy. Rock on my dude, you're the guitarist I used to wanna be when i grew up!!
My coworker (for national popcorn popping month) has been sharing covers of the popcorn song in the work chat since the beginning of October, and yours is my favorite so far ❤

That shit is impossible. My love of Popcorn brought me here. That song is a masterpiece channeled into this world from another dimension.

It's hilarious that over 50 years after it's first release, and even being memorable in a comedy film, this song sounds so right being done in the metal genre.
This song seems to be made to be covered and remixed. Hell, from trap remixes, dubstep - to VIOLIN covers, somehow there was an AWESOME example of it... And then this metal one is very awesome too. I am not sure if I have come across many songs that can be transformed that many ways and still not be bad before. Not like this one.
I grew up hearing this song a lot and I have to say that your version in now my favorite. You play it so amazing. I wish I could play it as well as you!

I really enjoyed this version. Me gusto mucho, Senor! I am old enough to remember when it came out. You have given a very amazing and enjoyable interpretation. Gracias senor! I bounced my kids up and down on a bed as I sang this song (they were the popcorn), so i have double happy memories of it. Gracias por su trabaja. I am glad you have reinterpreted this awesome song.Good work! Thank you from San Antonio, Texas, USA.
Windmill's game called DIGGER just went Metal 🎸 !! It was back in 83 (I think) , and I remember playing Digger for hours - sun up to sun down! Running from Nobbins and Hobbins, while I was collecting emeralds and bags of gold (after breaking it open) ! You had a fireball, but it took time to recharge after each shot! Then - oh the fun part - the cherries! The cherries, when you ate them, allowed you to go and eat the monsters - temporarily, but still fun! "Popcorn" just has a special place in my heart, after all these years! You did a great cover of it (I've heard so many)! Thank you for being back those memories! ❤
Mad skills, dude! 🤘🏻I am not generally a heavy metal fan. Your video probably ended up in my feed because I watch and rewatch the Muppet version of Popcorn featuring the Swedish Chef. I passed over your video several times and then, one day, decided to watch it. I am so glad I did because, first of all, you are supremely talented and I can appreciate talent in any musical genre (those arpeggios! OMG!), and second, this song translated really well to heavy metal! So while I'll probably never be a fan of heavy metal in general, I'd certainly love to hear more of your music.
I also ended up here due to the Swedish Chef, but I'm an actual metal fan who somehow missed this the first time around. Love it when world's collide 🤘😂
Like several others commenting, I too was watching the Swedish Chef. I grew up with the Muppet Show and even watch the show at work at the fire station. I said "what the heck" and clicked on this video. WOW! Very well performed by a very talented artist.
😹😹😹showing my age now, the original was written in 1969 became popular in 1972 when it hit the charts by Hot Butter 😹😹it hit number one in many countries 😹😹I was 9 when it the charts and became my favourite still got the single from then I spent a whole month saving up my pennies so I could buy the single 😹😹😹😹 and even then it had been re iced for that single. I remember when I heard the original song in a Hungarian video where a guy showed bad PC games, and this version is so much better. Thanks for this music!
I was just a kid the first time I heard popcorn in the 70s. Then it was in my head after all those years gone by. Not knowing the name Finley found it in different vergin's. Came across this metal vergin and loved it. Hat's off.🎸🎵
Wow, this guy is something to watch. Thank you, Charlie Parra for making this. This version really rocks. You are so very awesome brother and I wish I could buy you a cold beer. Your guitar playing is brilliant.
Awesome rendition of Popcorn! This is the first Vid I am watching of your's and while I am not usually into metal, I am looking forward to hearing more!
I was into metal couple of years ago, now I'm more in prog rock but yeah I always love heavy metal, and it's also the first thing I'm watching (while I wirte this comment oc) from this guy.
samsonfm101 popcorn is about as primitive as it gets so I think it would actually work better on a primitive synthesizer. All you need is any waveform with very low decay and no sustain.
Retro Plus Agreed, I tried it on a Roland One it almost had similar sound, had an old Realistic Synth (moog) late 70s era and that worked well, basic of basics.!
I can't believe a song about popping popcorn can sound this epic. It's like the popcorn is painted with fire stripes shooting like meteors through space and fighting interstellar invaders.
Metal popcorn is a little hard on your teeth ! LOL. But seriously, that was fantastic ! Great style and technique, very well played. I absolutely love your Kramer, it looks badass. The little sneer you give to the camera while the intro builds up was a nice metal touch. VIVA LA METAL POPCORN !

R.I.P. Gershon Kingsley who created this song in 1969, died on December 10th - and thank you to Charlie Parra who made this iconic cover!
Спасибо! Мне тоже очень нравится. 🤝
Came for the popcorn, stayed for the metal. Fantastic interpretation and brilliant playing!
Thank you 🙏🏼

Jeez this was good 😂

it was way before the 70s
I like it, although the Gershon Kingsley, version just sounds more futuristic to me.
I can't tell if this is a joke or not.

I was into metal couple of years ago, now I'm more in prog rock but yeah I always love heavy metal, and it's also the first thing I'm watching (while I wirte this comment oc) from this guy.

Not only is this amazing, but he's a legendary responder?!?
That's insane, the 2nd part was crazy, this song translated to metal so well!

Considering Hotbutter did it on primitive Synths.!! One of those melodies that don’t date.!
samsonfm101 popcorn is about as primitive as it gets so I think it would actually work better on a primitive synthesizer. All you need is any waveform with very low decay and no sustain.

Agreed, I tried it on a Roland One it almost had similar sound, had an old Realistic Synth (moog) late 70s era and that worked well, basic of basics.!
I come back again and again! WOW! Great! Respect from Hungary!
Thank you!!!
