It slightly ruins the tension that the crowd has the combined intelligence of a rock. Despite screaming, they are still clapping while they being sucked into the vortex and more audience can be seen clapping afterwards like nothing happened.
@@petop3 they can’t do anything about it. They’re stuck in those weak piles of rotten flesh. They see everything, but can’t act. If they managed to escape, their reign of terror would make Emperor Nefarious seem like nothing.
I’m assuming that ending was supposed to imply that they’re going to go look for the rest of the lombaxes?

most likely and they even introduced a new character named Mags in the Lombaxes Logs found in the game who reveals that some Lombaxes got lost in the Multiverse resulting in them now living in Universes such as Jak and Daxter Universe, Sly Cooper Universe, Knack Universe, and etc. We may see a future Ratchet and Clank game go into these Universes.
Yup, Probably We are going to have a sequel focused in finding the rest of the lombax survivors, and maybe, we have biggers Easter Eggs (Like Jak and Daxter and Sly Cooper, Please Naugthy Dog, Even Insomiac is craving for a remaster and a sequel of Jak and Daxter saga)
@@felixjoselaramejia5404 Naughty Dog said that a Jak and Daxter sequel is totally up to Sony, since they are the primary owners of the IP. But yeah, I hope that the success of Rift Apart sparks a new era of the "Big 3" of the PS2 era.
BTW: Insomniac tweeted a picture of Sly coming out of a dimensional rift and a few days ago a Sly Cooper Funko Pop got anounced; mabye we are in for something?
@@orrthehunter Actually the Jak and Sly universes is just Mags mapping different universes for Kaden to choose the perfect universe for Lombaxes to escape to, so it nothing more than easter eggs.
I like that Ratchet had the opportunity to find his family and race but put it aside to save his friends and the universe.
I can imagine it must have hurt a lot, but that's why hes a Hero.

Ratchet and Clank always getting separated that they don't really care anymore as they knew they will eventually reunite anyway. From Planetary to Galactic to Universal to Multiversal best friends.
This game is just beautiful, a love letter to us fans.
Aren't there still a lot of people that are disappointed with this game, though? Don't know if I'd exactly call it a love letter, but from what I can tell it's definitely better than the 2016 one.
I haven't seen anyone dissapointed with the game so far, my self that I played all of the R&C games from when I was a kid to now this one and a Crack on Time are my favs ones now.

Definitely they touched on it quite a bit in rift apart but just lore, not actual glimpses and hands on experience. I’m excited to see the future of lombax lore!

@@austinmorrison6953 yeah ratchet and rivet are basically the same person in different dimensions, but slightly different like a classic parallel universe story
The lore is one of my favorite parts of the Ratchet and Clank franchise.

The only letdown of this game is the soundtrack. They really have to bring back that funky steampunk techno stuff from the old PS2 games.
Totally agree! I really don't care for this whole epic-whimsical-cinematic-orchestral thing, much preferred the dirtier techno vibe. It was much more unique and gave the games more personality.
Couldn't agree more. The only other game's soundtrack I liked was A Crack in Time. Some of the tracks any way.

I'm glad everyone's catching up on what happened to lombaxes, especially what happened to ratchet's parents
but if you guys wanna learn more about their past, I recommend looking over the RaC future saga
it goes in detail (well very few at least,,) on what happened to them and what caused their disappearance
Yeah, before learning the lore I thought that the Lombaxs probably had a Civil War maybe with one side wanting to conquer other worlds and the other simply trying to help instead but resulting in heavy causalities on both sides
It’s sad that the general may have been an amazing companion, but he has become twisted on the fact that he thinks that he failed to return the Lombaxes, blinded by rage and confidence that distracted him from protecting the last Lombax that he has ever seem up close since he is one as well
Rift apart is such a huge step up from the 2016 one. Insomniac games again brought up another great game.
Still a huge step back from A Crack In Time
The animation and lighting in this game is just _glorious_
That combined with the fluid movements and expressiveness of the characters turns this game into the embodiment of **chef’s kiss**

One thing they never explained: how did Ratchet even get to Veldin after the Lombaxes fled to a different universe?
It was said he was launched there in a shuttle and crash landed, what happens after that is unknown
One theory is that Kaden sent Ratchet to veldin after the lombaxes escaped to another dimension. The reason why he did that is that Kaden had to watch over the dimensionator, in order to prevent it from falling into Tachyon's hands, which failed eventually. And Kaden wanted to look after Ratchet himself, since Ratchet's mother was killed during the great war.
I always assumed that because of the environment of the Veldin level that it was possibly a Lombax outpost of some sort
I have a sad feeling that the next game will be the final...
Ratchet finally has the dimentionator and he can now meet his family, Clank met his in “A Crack in time” Clank said he couldn’t leave Ratchet until he had found his family too. What I believe now, is that we get the final game with Ratchet and Clank saying goodbye for good. Clank going to the great cloak and Ratchet and maybe Rivet staying with the Lombaxes. I dont know how I feel, sad, glad..

They clearly made Rift Apart as a new beginning and entry point for new players so I think we'll get at least 2 more.
After that maybe a reboot or spin-off
they not gonna end the franchise! sony knows now thats ratchet & clank are the mario of playstation.
they been on every playstation system since their debut on the ps2 (and yes they have games on the ps vita as well unlike gran turismo).
also did you know thats originally a crack in time was planned to be the last game in the franchise? because sony & insomniac knew the franchise was profitable and tried experiment with side games like all 4 one and FFA, because everybody hated the games they make into the nexus as the final game in the future saga and sadly it was released on the ps3 few days before the launch of the ps4.
the ps4 game was a movie tie-in game and maybe bring newcomers to the franchise but they fail so hard with the game the movie story already ruin the game with bad jokes and the gameplay is recycle fron into the nexus and the weapons recycle from tools of destruction. thats why a lot of old fans hate this game especially the ps2 fans because it was supposed to be a ratchet & clank remake but it fail so hard they trash the lore of the franchise with this game.
rift apart was the reason why i bought a ps5 this early and im happy because this is a great game. i dont think the next game gonna be the last we still gonna get at least 2 more games in the ps5 era (plus a possible 20th anniversary colletion with the ps2 era, future era with into the nexus & the ps3 spin-off titles), if mario and sonic always getting new games sony & insomniac gonna make the franchise alive and they not gonna ruin it.

Rift apart is a really good game but I still prefer the level design and mechanics of the ps2 era. Ratchet was a badass now he is a bit childish for me
@@guillaumeSONY i grew up with the ps2 era games but I like the future titles way more. I think every game that’s isn’t the movie tie-in game made ratchet a good character, in the ps2 era he started as a surfer dude with anger issues and grew up with every game. In the future era he ended as mature (into the nexus was the most mature characteristic for ratchet) and yes in rift apart he have some childish acting from the movie tie-in game because the newcomers from the ps4 game but he got a lot of good moments in the games when he’s talk about the lombaxes with kit or even talking about captain qwark with captain quantum are some of my favorite moments from rift apart.
Fun detail: in-game, when ratchet talks, he actually moves his mouth. Such a nice detail

I was really happy with this game, everything right up until the ending. It feels like it needed an epilogue. Ratchet and rivet use the dimensionator to go see the lombaxes, but before stepping through ratchet hesitates one last time. Rivet places her hand on his shoulder and assures him it’ll be okay. They then walk through and see a bunch of lombaxes all happy to see them. Then we look straight at ratchet and hear a woman’s voice say “ratchet?”. Cut to credits.
Something along those lines would have been perfect for the game I believe.
And this is why we don't let the fans write the games
@@atheon4075 I mean any kind of epilogue would have been good. As we have it at the moment the game ends right after beating the emperor. Almost every game in the franchise has one except this.

I'm so proud my name's Kaden. Always played this game as a child and only just realized that it was Ratchet's dads name.
To think that flying piece of scrap that fell onto his workplace was going to be a key to finding his family.
Are some cutscenes mirror reversed? Only 'cause Rivet's robotic arm keeps changing sides and I can't remember which is her real arm and which is her prosthetic. 🤔

I have a good feeling the dude in the Lorbs is probably either Ratchet’s father, Rivet’s, or technically both. The game isn’t super clear if they are technically alternate versions of eachother, or counterparts(not eachother but similar events happened to two different lombax’s in eachother’s universe). They interchange the word dimension and universe. So either the weird kind of love between eachother is a selfcest kind if thing or it’s perfectly fine. Literally the dude in the Lorbs wanted to get every lombax from every dimension. So that could mean they aren’t native to any specific one.
Forgot that kaden was ratchets dad, not the dude in the lorbs. Probably Rivets dad
He's not Ratchet's Father, because Ratchet's father is Kaden. And I think Lombaxes can't have counterparts or versions of each other, because Mags (Lorbs Guy) says that Lombaxes are SCATTERED across many dimensions.

@@MissHashshashin maybe the Lombaxes are from Ratchet's dimensions but traveled through different dimensions and lived where.
Yeah, the files you listen to confirm that they all don't live in one dimension. They are all scattered across multiple dimensions.
So... for anyone who likes the Ratchet and Rivet possible pairing, it might hint that Rivet is not Ratchet's alternate version. In fact, she was also lost, left, or stranded in one dimension as a result.

@@ParadoxBrony @Entropy is Law No, Talwyn was in the game before this one (Into the Nexus), my guess is she was on Polaris Defense duty at the time, off planet, and basically (physically) missed all of the rifting. Was a shame to not see her in Rift Apart, I did like the lil scene with her in the credits, wasn't much tho.

The movie knives out, man planned his death so they couldnt trace him back through the memory of water, and well still alive another universe. So our mission wouldn't fail.
I think people may have it wrong on who is whos other counterpart. Other then race and gender who is more like who. Kit feels like she is Ratchets counterpart more then Rivet is. her self-doubts and colors plus her being more of a fighter then the brain fit Ratchet. With Rivet, she has hard logic at times. With being more of the brains, plus I think they spelled it out to us with the lost arm thing.
