I kinda like mature Ratchet. I mean, the classic Ratchet was fun and all but he's grown up, he's a lot more mellow and kind. I do miss the crude humour tho.
Yeah that’s what I loved about the older games, as a kid I didn’t understand the adult like innuendos back then.
Then after going through those games as an adult, it made them more fun to play.
It's not because he has grown up it's because this is a kids game😭
The irony is that the vector for much of Ratchet's maturing is Clank, a robot.

It's cool how things differ between Kit and Clank. Clank is defective from a manufacturing standpoint, but while Kit is technically and mechanically fine, she FEELS wrong for being forced to act against her will. Both come to the same conclusion about accepting their "broken" states, of course.

@@j.w.971 To be fair, Ratchet said he backed off because he was unsure, not because he was scared. At the same time he did say that he admitted that he thinks that the lombaxes would be disappointed in him, or vice versa.

For the people saying that Rivet is literally an alternate version of Ratchet, I don't think she is.
In the game there is a series of Archives about how some Lombax ended up in different dimensions as a means of survival. Meaning that just like Ratchet, Rivet might as well belong with those Lombax and she might have little to no relation to Ratchet whatsoever.
*EDIT:* As for the cutscene that says that they are, I feel like that's a conclusion or hypothesis that they had when first meeting them without the info of the archives because they frankly contradict each other and they have little to no involvement in the overall story of the game itself. In the end, the big keyword in all of this is "Might" as in, this might be true or not. We don't know yet. All of what I'm saying COULD be a thing that can be further explained in a future game.

Yeah but then again her dimension also has a Nefarious plus alternate versions of every other character and the game refers to Ratchet and Rivet as being their counterparts
@@chikenfartz Hmm, maybe she is Ratchet's counter part, BUT also not being a "alternative version of him. Like, let's say for example the Lombaxes are, originally, from another Dimension that we don't know, and when Ratchet was separated from his family and the Lombaxes, Rivet was too. Ratchet went to the Dimension of the game series and Rivet went to this one, both growing destined to become heroes.
My point is, yes, the game showed A LOT of examples of alternative versions of the characters we know, but maybe Ratchet and Rivet are the exception because the Lombaxes in general are the exception. However, they still, in a way, were destined to become counter parts of each other by destiny, to become heroes of the dimensions they went... or maybe is just a HUGE coincidence of the multiverse, hehe.
Exactly. If you listen to the spybot containing the information about planet Savali, is says that it was an outpost of the Lombaxes. There, they built the dimensional archives and Mags, which is also a close friend of Ratchet's father Kaden, left a dimensional map for those who are left behind during the great war. I have a feeling that Rivet has a connection with either Mags or General Alister.

btw are we gonna ignore the fact that insomniac gets rid of every female character after 1 or 2 games and pretend they never existed .I mean what happend to Angela,Shasha or Talwyn.Probably Rivet will also be conveniently removed after a couple of games
Angela, Sasha, and Talwyn were all side characters (you could never play as them). Rivet, on the other hand, is a co-protagonist, so I am fairly confident that she will become a mainstay.

It would be neat if the next one takes place in the Dimension the Lombaxes are, that is UNDER ATTACK, and we must help the Lombaxes fight this new threat, FINALLY meeting new Lombaxes and leaning more of their culture with R&R. Including Ratchet and Rivet's parents.... and maybe we find out that Ratchet's father and Rivet's mother are married and Ratchet and Rivet are siblings. THIS would be a neat twist and a bit more interesting then Ratchet and Rivet getting together as a couple, something I find difficulty (even though I find cute) since as far as we know Ratchet is still together with his former girlfriend.
I think if their gonna end the series theu need to do it on a high note by topping it off with Ratchet finally after all these years finding his kind
@@MaskOfLimbo Or better yet find out that some Lombaxes are actually evil and want revenge against everyone else for what's happened to them, creating conflict for both Ratchet and Rivet, also just because Ratchet has a girlfriend doesn't have to mean that him and Rivet have to be siblings, they can simply remain Friends, but as long as the writers take their time with the story I'm okay with whatever direction they go

I feel like a whole movie could be made off of the cutscenes alone
Basically, just watching all the cutscenes is like watching an animated film
The fact none of this is pre rendered and is entirely in game cutscenes and flows directly into gameplay is one of the most impressive things i've seen a game do too date
Not to mention the instant loading of other worlds the PS5 can do.
I want to see more games designed for that specific hardware minimum specification as at this point PC games are being held back by mid range and older hard drive & CPU specs.
That's the problem with PC, there's too many systems and hardware configurations to account for, they could easily make a game like Rift Apart with the instantaneous loading and fast transitions on PC but then they risk leaving out the majority of people on older dated hardware running spinning rust and thus sales wont meet their expectations.

I do appreciate the fact that instead of Rivet or Ratchet getting pissed and ignoring each other for awhile, or continuing to stir the pot for no reason, they immediately apologize for what they said.
It’s nice when a story doesn’t force a contrivance and make their characters act out of place.
On another note however, I want the old humor back. “Put it in the slot”, Ratchet insinuating that the bot lady in Dreadlock was in a… movie, we’ll say, Qwark banging a monkey, it makes it so much easier to appreciate the game when you get old enough to see the stuff they snuck in.

Wow they definitely did a huge upgrade with the cinematics in this game. RaCPS4 was really lacking in character expression
Yep and this game is pure eye candy to watch with the cutscenes the remake was a chore it was just so bad the story here to isn't the best but it is miles better then the remakes take on the original game only thing I would say needs to be handled better is having the characters talk less when olaying cause once again they dont know when to shut up
@@copingflower1909 I find myself not skipping the cutscenes because it really is eye candy. So much expression and so much detail. If the humor was slightly better, it would feel like a game in the Future series.
I'm SO hoping for future games exploring Ratchet & Rivet's relationship further and that they'll become a thing, they're so cute together ❤️
