This was so interesting to watch, you've done really well mate. The concept of someone learning about the game I've loved all my life completely from scratch is fascinating to me, so thanks for sharing your journey. From a United fan in Wales.
@audibleadventures9004 My Dad (who's from Manchester) moved to Wales to work down the mines before I was born. He was a season ticket holder all through the 80s and 90s. I was raised supporting United because my Dad is United. That's how it works. Really ignorant of you tbh.
Even as a Man United fan, I have to tell you to look up Sergio Aguero. Scored the title winning goal in stoppage time in the 38th game of the 2012-2013 season.
I'd say Carles Puyol is one you should check out if any. Or Sergio Ramos. Those two played for Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively, and I guess you could say they were the defense of the el Classico whereas Ronaldo and Messi were the attack. Both Puyol and Sergio Ramos are two of the greatest spanish centerbacks in my opinion
Superb video. I think 49 is a great score at this stage in your journey, especially considering that your knowledge is a lot wider than just players - you’ve looked into tactics, trophies, historic moments, and so much more.
One player u missed who would be good to look at is kaka he was the last person to win a ballandor before the Messi ronaldo era of dominance, for a defender u missed Ramos is probably the best and I’d say lampard might be the best midfielder who u didn’t know. Scored the most prem goals for a midfielder, people argue about who’s best between him scholes and lampard
Love your videos man. So chill and so entertaining. Though right now as a San Francisco native and 49ers fan, it's so hard to get past the rivalry. All the best, man!
Just praying you guys have an off-day in the divisional round. I have zero confidence that we can beat you guys. I think we can beat anyone else in the NFC if we’re at 100%.
I'm not surprised that you don't know Marco Reus. He is/was one of Germanys most talented offensive midfielders. He's very loyal to BVB Dortmund, for whom he was captain for the last 5 years. Sadly he missed just about all the international cups with the national team due to various injuries during the prime of his career. Especially, missing the 2014 world cup win must really sting.
a lot of the latter half are players who were popular a few years ago but never gets mentioned today, youd get 50 easily if it was one thats either updated or focusing more on all time greats
I'm an American who started watching about a year before you did. 76/100 at this point. You're doing very well, but you definitely need to brush up on your player knowledge outside the EPL. I watch a lot of Serie A and Bungesliga, and know the top three in La Liga pretty well, so it helps. Also, a lot of Football Manager, which really drills current players into your head a lot. Like you I still struggle with a lot of the names from before the 2010s. I know who Rivaldo, Roberto Carlos, Totti, etc. are, but I don't always have their faces memorized. Sometimes the club kit helped, like I don't think I would have gotten Kimmich or Hazard without the kit. Kicking myself for not getting Varane and Courtois, because I knew I knew them. Oh well.
18:51 all of them😂 i knew all of those straight away except for 1 which was number 93 rodrigo. All 100 of those players are either top/world class players in the past or present, or they were exiting kids that had potential to be class at the time( for example dele alli) should deffo get to know all of them asap. But much improved from last yr luke👍
Really good work learning from scratch mate, the only way you’ll really learn the players you’re missing is by continuing actually watching games as much as possible and you’ll pick up the rest
Wow. It is so nice to see how far you've come. It is so nice to see how genuinelz you are interested in this. I am watching more and more of the NFL andit is so hard to remember everything. Good on you. I am grateful to follow you on your journey through the football world. all the best, my man.
Many of the players in this video were players that were big for 1-2 year then fell of big time and are kinda forgotten now. SO kinda hard to recognize some, especially now since some time has passed since this video came out. Many players were at the end of their careers and played in a team they dont usually play in. And you struggle with players that dont play in EPL :) I myself struggle with players that dont play in EPL, LaLiga or Bundesliga.
You should check out Kaka. He is a player you need to know about. He even won the balon d’or if I am not mistaken. And played for Milan at his peak. Really fun to see this video and actually impressive how much you picked up in only one year!
I didn't know many of them either, but I'm probably at 65 points or so. As for players you should know, I'd say Dani Alves, Puyol and David Villa, because they were integral to THAT Barcelona team that was arguably the best team in history. (The latter 2 also won the Euro, World Cup and Euro again back to back)
Frank Lampard is the best player in Chelsea's history. Scored so manny goals and could play any part of the midfield, but the best Lampard was when he played in the same position that KDB plays for City rn... So more like a creative role/attacking midfielder. Amazing Player. I think he was better then Gerrard from Liverpool, but worst then Scholes from United...
You have major deficits with the German players. you should work on that. but you were very good. Europeans are happy when Americans understand the passion for this sport.
The antoine griezmann miss needs to be fixed Luke. He was the best player for france in the 2018 wc and he was argueably the third best player in the world after cristiano and messi from 2016 to 2019. Right now he is one of the best playmakers in the world at atletico
How do you not know Frank Lampard... Highest Goal Scoring CM in premiership history with 177 Goals. Also Managed Chelsea and Everton. Frank Lampard was named in the Premiership hall of fame best ever x11
You´ve come a long way, Luke! Still got a long way tho, especially regarding German and Italian players. But then again, you´re a Prem fan and a football newbie, so it´s kinda understandable. I wouldn´t have been so understanding if you´d gotten Müller and Neuer wrong tho!
Well done Luke. That's a big progress :) Let me suggest a new name Ricardo Quaresma, you should react to him. I bet you never saw another player do some things he can do.
you should play Fifa ( EA FC) If you play Ultimate Team or Career Mode, youll pretty much know every player playing right now in a month or less probably. Also Fifa content is goated
You have good progress for a person who was not interested in football (soccer) before and has made progress during the year. Now you have experience, knowledge, and understanding of football (soccer). I hope MLS and the US and Canada national football (soccer) teams will progress and will be able to give a worthy game against the national teams from Europe and South America. We wish you success.
Certain players in this video I thought were really unfair to give because they were only at their top level in a short time so you naturally would not have heard about them, so if you remove 10-15 of those players, include 5 players that you have heard of and just forgot I would say you did really well considering you are 1 year into this
