- Want to appear offline on WhatsApp. I’ll show you exactly how to do that in this video.
Open WhatsApp on Android or iPhone. Click on settings and go to account.
Click on privacy. Change last seen to nobody.
Also, change your status to be shared with no one.
And turn off read receipts.
And it's that simple to appear offline on Whatsapp.

The only way to appear offline is to delete the contact number then go to the last seen, you press my contacts only then you’ll automatically be offline from that person

This will only hide the last time you were online but if you are actually online, people would be able to see you are online at that moment

Why would someone update their status if they didn't want anybody to see it?
And last seen isn't online, that's something completely different.

Doesn't work lol. Last Seen only shows people when we were last active on whatsapp and removing that doesn't help with disabling the online status when you are online.

Last seen isn't the same as online or offline, people can still see I'm online when last seen is checked under (nobody) option when I'm online.
You have to also check the ( who can see me when I'm online)
Then tick same as above.

Nah, this doesn't work. When people send you a message, they can see the checkmark showing the message has arrived to the receiver. So they know, you are online based on the checkmark.
Thankfully I use Android and I just set data usage to Forbidden completely so no messages will come in. And the message will never mark arrive from the sender. Making me completely offline.
BUT not for IOS because IOS SUCKS. They don't even have the feature to completely make you offline UNLESS if you completely turned off wifi/data or set to airplane mode. But once you back online, the message will arrive and they will know you are online even though you did not open the app.
So the only way to do it on IOS is to either jailbreak you iphone and install a 3d party app to block the app from wifi/data access OR delete the app after each use so you will be completely offline from whatapp.
I am sticking with Android. Makes life much easier and have more privacy.
