The quality of the t-shirt for me depends what I want it for. I wanted a t-shirt to wear to bed and to where to do housework which can involve bleach. I went to Walmart bought a semi thick cotton ribbed T-shirt in a size that was too large with plans to throw it in the dryer and shrink it which thickens the material. Now I have t-shirts to wear for sleeping and for cleaning if I get any bleach on it who cares, If it loses its shape who cares. . For wearing out in public as part of my outfit No they won't do.
Thanks for the visual tshirt tutorial, Christina. So useful for such an essential wardrobe workhorse! COS and UNI QLO are both my faves too. I might even prefer UNI QLO's basic tshirt. It checks all the boxes AND costs less than $20!😊
Someone told me once when I was in my 20s that “your T-shirt should cost your age”. Ever since then I’ve gone by that as a rule.
Christina Mychas, Your videos always make me happy, so I subscribed!
I can’t wear white t shirts as I’m a mum of twins and a golden retriever 😂 plus I don’t like how sheer they are. I did get a heavyweight cotton white t shirt a while ago but haven’t worn it as yet! I tend to favour charcoal grey or black T shirts often band style ones. Anything I can just throw in the wash with everything else suits me fine! I find it interesting seeing how quality differs by price of the same item though! Interesting video Christina
Just use bleach lol white is the easiest to clean!
The best content bang for your buck!
Thank you.
Weirdly enough, my favourite plain tees are the ones from Joe Fresh -- the basic cap-sleeved fitted ones that come in v-neck and crew. They're cotton, they aren't see through, they hold their shape and they stand up to multiple washings. They had a problem with a cheaper fabric a couple of years ago, but the most recent ones are back to being good again. Will have to try the COS ones, though, as they're a more current cut.
My favorite t-shirts are from Pact Organic. They range in price from about $20 (3 for $60 any color!) up to $32! I love them and wear them all the time!!
I’ve heard this! Need to try them!
@@Christinamychas They are my favorite clothing brand! All fair trade and organic cotton too. The men's undershirts are also supposed to be great - husband won't wear anything else!
Have bought a black and a white Tshirt from COS and love them! Thank you! And now help me to find a beige blazer!! The Aritzia ones are not made as well and so wonder if you could recommend another brand!
What do you think of the Everlane one?
My problem with spending money on white t-shirts is that they get yellow pit stains just as easily as the inexpensive ones. 😭 I need tips to deal with that so I can get more life out of them!
Exactly
i wear Numi undershirts with white tops
Before you throw your T-shirts in the washer, soak them in a tub with warm water and oxi for a few hours. I usually do an hour or two. You can also rub the arm pit area on the t-shirt. Then toss them into the washer. This helps me to keep my t-shirts white.
@@tatyana7266 Also baking soda and white vinegar, soak in bathtub overnight.
@@tatyana7266 i do that too- i just soak them in the washer!!
IMO, J Crew perfect fit line are great t-shirts. Nice weight, come in tank, short, long sleeve, and many colors. They last a long time, too 👕 😊
For white Tee-shirts or Tee-shirts in general,ai go for mixed fabric like modal or any cotton fabric that has a mix of other fabric in it. Pure cotton doesn't guarantee it would last unless you go for the pricier tag. And also, go for the ones with tighter weave, and a bit thicker, they will last longer.
They are easy to sew. I make many of my own to save money.
Good tips. BTW it's a neckline. T-shirts do not have collars.
I love uniqlo U t-shirts!
Now I know why I always look like a slob in my tshirts lol
At least you are not broke or a follower.😊
That $45 dollar shirt is $61.50 for those of us in Canada and the $100 shirt is $136CAD 😭
My major problem with "expensive quality tee" is that they tend to be black or white.
If I am lucky I find baby blue or navy blue ones, or army green, rarely the pink I want more of. Or mauve or lilac, or a nice softer green. Yes I can dye them, with a bit instable results, and dying 3-5 different colours ... feels like a lot of work and mess for each colour, and a bit wasteful.
Hi! What size do you wear in the COS? I need one!
I know it's not your style, but cheap cardigans are a huge no from me. Even though it's a layering piece. I use them from grabbing when I'm cold, going out, and church. 🎉
Cheap cardigans are the worst!
@@lharris0804 so is my grammar 🤦♀️
@@paisleyhunter I think you meant grammar 😉 And you know you can edit your message after you've posted it 🤓 I do it all the time 😊
I agree: cheap cardigans (or jumpers/sweaters) are not worth it. They won't stand the test of time and look bad after just a few wears. It's true even for those made from more "fancy" fabrics like cashmere, which in itself is never cheap but the cheaper versions wear out very quickly 😕🌺
@paisleyhunter I didn’t even notice😊
@soulexplorer76 thank you for showing me how to correct! Also, cheap sweaters pill something awful!
I'm gutted that the $100 one looked noticeably better than the others. Lol.
Where is the $100 shirt from?
Don't you get yellow stains on your t-shirts? Have you some tips to prevent them or clean them?
I have a full length laundry video on my channel showing how
@@Christinamychas thank you 😊
The Cos T-Shirt seems to be very short length, isn't it? I would like to put it in mey pants without coming out when moving. You think that works with this one?
The one I have on is now too small, but it’s generally meant to be more cropped at sit at the top of your pants. Not ideal for tucking. Uniqlo longer!
Does anybody have recommendations for dark forest green/pine green cotton tee shirts? I love forest green and it's something I've had on my wishlist for a while but can't seem to find one in 100% cotton in the right color. 💚🌲
Try LLBean. Idk if it’s a color they carry in spring, but later in the year there should be more colors
i've loved Elegantees. rated Good on Good On You as well for eco sustainability and fair wages. not your usual tshirt look though. they're more feminine, though they also have basic tshirts too
Standard Issue tees in the color hunter green. It’s the most beautiful deep forest green. I don’t think the color is shown that well on the website. It’s 100% cotton and thick material. It only comes in unisex sizing though.
Watching this video eating popcorn and wearing my white Cos Clean Cut t-shirt! :D
The best one!
The 40 dollar one for sure 😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I think of t shirts as underwear. Occasionally I might get a colored or stripped one. I missed the point in modern culture when undershirts became clothing. Not only that but an expensive sought after item. If I want heavy weight cotton I buy mens in medium. Mens tshirts are usually better quality. They should be on sale and ideally come in a three pack. I have a complete inabilty to understand why anyone would pay $40 or more for a plain piece of cotton cloth organic or not. Anything not made by union labor is a slave wage elsewhere in the world. I conceed the cost of transportation and handling, but I'm not paying for marketing cachet.
With big boobs the concern is more how see thru the shirts are than anything else 😂
Why do you like the $40 shirt more?
because she can get a commission if you buy it with her link lol
I thought the $40 t shirt looked the best
@@Pubslife ya that's fair. I've only ever owned t-shirts that cost $2-$20 so I was curious what the difference is between a $40 t-shirt and a $100 t-shirt.
I imagine at this point it's about cut, material and how they feel on the skin
Well, you could flush your money down the toilet and it's nobody's business
It's not so much the quality for me, it's the stain factor! I'm a slob🥲
Yeah, I can't do white T shirts at any price
😊 Yes, I'm a dirt magnet 🧲. Spending a lot 💸 on a white tee doesn't make much sense. Like simple, but not necessarily basic. Not brand specific. Look for deep seasonal clearances for a 🤏 slightly thicker fabric that also has softly body contouring cut & expanding/contracting properties.
⏳️As an extreme hourglass, I already feel like a ↔️ wide load in white 😶🌫️. Avoid billowy white tees like the plague🤢. Need garments that can hold their shape under pressure.
