Thanks Meg! This was totally helpful, but wish they gave you a prototype to share. Still trying to get a sense of what the drones and battles expansions offer.
So the Battles expansion, is skirmish like space battles without the story, for if your game group just wants to do some space battles without going through a campaign. The Drones expansion adds a stand alone story that is implemented after the prologue, that introduces Drones. Drones cover up a section of your player board while giving you the Drones which give you unique abilities. Lastly the Drones expansion gives 2 more player characters.
@@CheddahSlammer Aw, thanks! I didn't quite get the bit about the drones replacing part of the player board. I'm such a visual/tactile person it's hard to have it just explained. Either way, definitely going for it. I have the original and LOVE the idea of it, but it does need some refinement. While Gloomhaven/Frosthaven are amazing, the fighting aspect dominates and the narrative gets lost for me. THE SOA planet exploration tied with space combat not only breaks up the gameplay in an interesting way, it also makes the story way more engrossing. Excited!
Both "Stars of Akarios" and "Secrets of the Lost Tomb" are on crowdfunding sights currently. You've done a great job reviewing both. I wonder, if you could only purchase one of these games, which would you prefer? Thanks!
A good overview of the game, but I find it a bit strange to talk about all the new content without having the new content shown. The Ships of Akarios looks cool. What does the terrain look like?
I'd love to at some point, but I have to dive into it a lot more. I've played four scenarios at this point, but I haven't fully gone through a campaign arc.

The thumbnail going right into the video is really cool. I had to go back just to watch it again
Thank you for the overview Meg!
Absolutely!

Oooh...Meg I think preferred Secrets, I've only played Stars so I can't answer.
@@BoardGameCo You rock, thanks.

Super helpful!
Happy to help!
Thanks! Nice review.
Thanks for the great preview! Is BoardGameCo going to do a review of this game?

Really want to know how games like this compare to Ironclad.
Haven't played that one yet
Any idea if they increased difficulty in 1.5? I heard 1.0 was autopilot and no challenge at all.
Yes! Supposedly they have.
