So this is a new technique to me and I am working the Thisaway shawl. About halfway down, one of my knit stitches went into the fabric rather than the waste yarn. I think I have an idea about how to fix it involving some minor surgery, but right now, I am walking away from it for time to consider the fix…

Oh no! Do you mean one of the stitches in the first row of the second tail dove down too deep and caught a stitch below the waste yarn? If so, what I would do is to ladder down the stitch, pick up just the waste yarn loop, and then ladder it back up again. Of course, if you’ve gotten too far into the decreases of the second tail already, you may have to rip back to where the problem stitch was sucked into the center decrease, then you can ladder down and fix it. Hope that helps!

@@carissaknits i had finished the second wing and had picked up all the stitches. Only when I was removing the waste yarn did i discover this. I had to cut the offending stitch that was below the waste yarn and i then undid 10 stitches on either side of it. I then felted the cut ends back together and reknit those 20 stitches. All in all it was way easier than I imagined. I was glad to be knitting with handspun mostly wool yarn…
