Love Kelly's common sense approach to knitting which helps me figure out what I need to do vs. having to follow a pattern step by step. Outstanding! She has a 'sock class' also which is equally as easy to understand and gives you skills to build on.
You know that moment when things connect in your brain and you finally see it? You have cleared up EZ's socks, mittens, and yes, pockets in one fell swoop! From a guy that learned this year to pick up sticks! On Ravelry as Kilted1.
This is great! I am working a sweater where the entire body is worked and then the sleeves - the pattern calls for BO stitches, then the next row cast them back on again - what a pain! I will try this "afterthought' method instead. Can a person do an increase, if needed for other applications, in the holding yarn and be able to pick up the freed loops later when adding the appendage? What a wonderful explaination!!
thank you so much for doing this vid!! Ive been reading the pattern to how to knit a mitten and when i got to the thumb part i had to idea what to do with the yarn that was left behind, so i cut it. Yes it was little tricky afterwards but i got through it D: Anyways these vids are so helpfull!! thanks again :D
Do you have to knit in a few stitches before knitting the stitches in the waste yarn for the afterthought thumb? Or can you start the afterthought thumb right at the beginning of the row? Are there any cons to starting the afterthought thumb right away? Thanks
you made that look so easy, That I even understood what you were explaining. Thank you for that
