I was SO much anticipating for this video - and you have delivered exceptionally! Every second was full enjoyment. As a traditional medium artist I love using soft pastels, and your recent post regarding the development of these templates had me sitting straight up. They are of superb quality, and now my guilty pleasure shall be drawing digitally late into the wee hours - instead of being in front of my easel working analogously. MASSIVE KUDOS to You, and simply: Thank you. 🤟
I´m happy to see you like them. Thanks for your help a lot. In fact there are now infinite templates in users mind. I also use special templates like i shown in the end of the video and some that are in WIP mode. Ienjoy creating resources
Hi , I was missing your words. Brilliant is a nice word for hours and hours of testing. Brilliant coming from you who experiment a lot is a charming comment. Thanks for your comment.
Well !! that was fun!! beautifully done... I am so excited to play around, and thank you for the tip to Digi paint, I shall check him out..have a great day...
Thanks for sharing these! I have been doing watercolor recenty and was just thinking about looking into one of the older vidoes and making a template on my own.
DAMN these are really useful! I used to manually take pictures of canvases and paper and import them as layers to my illustrations to give it a crunchy texture.. I'm glad I can just use these :D Also NEW TEXTURES AND PATTERNS?? FUCK YEAH 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Love it as always :) My highlight of this day for sure! (also I just donated some euros. Could you buy a pop filter for your microphone from it maybe? 😜)
Now you are part of the future Krita too. this money would be very well invested. Do you think a filter will help? I think it will disturb my sight from my tablet below. Maybe I am wrong
@@KritaOrgPainting Naah, the voice pops a little some times, but if it obstructs the view, just have a pizza on me :) Hope I will be able to make monthly donations again soon.
Thank you very much ! Amazing. I have a question about Krita on Android. Is it possible to add manually an icon for the functions not having an icon ? Because the text of the function can take all the place in the toolbar, which is not usable with a tablet. Thank you in advance if you have a solution.
Eu amo o krita , uso ele há 3 anos para meus trabalhos profissionais e pessoais , porém percebi que mudou muito nessa última atualização, e achei um pouco estranho terem mudado a opção de animação
Could you post a Krita setup, when i first started using Krita it worked amazing, now it runs so slow, and i have searched and done everything i have seen to make it run better but it just won't .
My Laptop has an i7-10750H and a 1650ti with 24GB RAM. The changes I would do is lower the max brush size to 1000px or lower, reduce the undo stack size and allocate more memory if possible. Large files, multiple layers, filters, could all slow it down in the long run. Where exactly does it happen?
Are you using an android tablet? I had an update mess up Krita for me to the point where it took multiple minutes to start up. But deleting and re-installing the app fixed it.
@@Jj82op I have a gamming laptop, it used to work like a dream and since windows update, when i load a new file it takes a minute, then once it's loaded it starts off fine than it lags to the point where i just don't want to use it. Thank you for replying
Krita is a good program and many things are implemented perfectly. But what is simply disgustingly done in it is the background image (canvas). - both the concept itself and the content used as a background putting background textures into layers is the stupidest idea that could have occurred to the developers. This is a complete failure. Other programs have this issue developed much better. Simply many times. - working layers are not mixed up with the background and this is very convenient. and the background is configured separately. (I will not list the programs - everyone already knows them). But thanks for the video)), although I do not use such complex templates that clutter the project layers.
I know what you mean, let´s see if i can remove the bad design idea. Of course it could be improved in future if Krita team watch this is very used. Another actor is that there are a lot of tasks that we talk about in the meetings and believe me, they are related to deep code and much more features. I know the programs. Me RM, I have used all of them. I like the simplicity but i also think it could be improved, is not perfect. As you can see in the video i expand the group of paper, so it can be closed once you are happy with your surface. or even locked to prevent modifications. So you will have only a "layer" showing the "Paper--Expand for options" with Brown color. and BG is usefull if you want to remove paper 100% and see your image with a solid BG color or even remove the BG layer and save the picture with Alpha. I hope this helps. Also I´ve done this as a fast resource too. You load the template and done. Paint, and enjoy.
@@KritaOrgPainting I appreciate your endless enthusiasm in promoting the program! and, indeed, Krita is a very good program and I like it, although I started using it only a year after I installed it)) and it has many built-in features that artists cannot master and use due to lack of time and natural cognitive laziness. but to improve does not mean to complicate! - sometimes it is also to simplify)).. I would suggest, without completely removing the background structure from the layers, just to select it in a separate section, like, for example, composition or undo history. probably it is not as difficult as if you remove it at all. secondly, I think that it is easier to customize the drawing layer through the "layer style", and not through numerous tricks with blending in the background layers. just put the "texture" checkbox in the layer options. those artists who for some reason want to play with the background texture settings - they always have the opportunity to add them to separate background layers. after all, this does not change anything in the structure of the program. i.e. it gives two options instead of one and they are obvious - which is important for understanding the program. Another useful feature that should be added is a tooltip with the texture name - I couldn't find the textures used in the "background" layer, because they are not signed in the layer name. It would also be good to automatically link the texture in the brush with the background texture, which can be canceled if necessary. This is convenient if you use a lot of brushes and it takes a long time to reconfigure them, and sometimes you just forget. in any case - thank you for your enthusiasm!
@@KritaOrgPainting in short, here's what I would suggest improving in Krita: 1) move the background settings to a separate docker with the ability to turn them on and off (for printing) 2) make a pop-up hint for the name in all used textures - they are hard to find, so that you can later configure them in brushes or layers, for example. 3) bind interacting textures of the brush trace to the texture of the background layer or the layer for drawing in clone mode. as well as the ability to turn it off. 4) add the history of used brushes directly to the file - this is more correct and reliable than binding it in the program 5) since there are many options in the Krita settings. and in dockers as well - shoot videos explaining all these countless buttons and tricks to improve performance and quality. 6) make automatic binding of dockers to the working environment optional. sometimes it's annoying, because you don't need the docker to necessarily grow to some edge. (in many programs, dockers are inert - you can put them wherever you want without fear that the window will be reconfigured to accommodate the stuck docker)

I've been using krita for a few months now, and made content with it, and it is really really good for something free
Krita is free like Blender, that means is another model of funding software but we need money because money buys development.
