Personally I find it WILD that Tim has been given any voice whatsoever after his release wether it be on a podcast, or through touring with AILD again. @@jsimsgt96 I don't wanna be a judgmental prick, but plotting to murder anyone, let alone the mother of your kids, is very extreme. I've fucked up in a thousand ways, especially in moments when I was emotionally drained, depressed, anxious, frustrated, etc. In those less-than-glorious moments, I've yelled and said hurtful words, but it never ever crossed my mind physically assaulting anyone, much less killing them. I understand that Tim was going through a rough time and the steroids affected his mind, but what he did was really serious. Imagine if he had actually hired a real assassin instead of talking with the undercover cop when busted him. His ex-wife would be dead. The only reason she's still alive is thanks to the undercover cop, not Tim changing his mind about the murder. That's really sad.

    I sit in a weird spot with my feelings on Tim and AILD. I obviously still love the old music, and gave the newer stuff it's fair shot, and it's what you'd expect, super solid metalcore. The weird thing for me is Tim himself, as expected. Idk if I fully believe he's redeemed himself, gotten better, etc. I can see he's making an effort, and that's more than can be said for alot in the industry... but he's also did MUCH worse than most get caught doing. I can see both sides being true; either he is genuinely getting better and trying to make things right where he can... or he's a master manipulator/good at making it SEEM like he's better or trying to, etc. I wanna forgive and move on, that's just my nature, but it's also hard to with the circumstances and what he's done, or atleast tried to have done. All I know for sure is, for once I'm glad police did their damn job and caught him, especially glad for the gym bro that tipped em off.

    8:21 makes sense since nick was adamant on saying he felt Tim hadn’t changed due to resumed behaviors on touring.
    I mean that can only be a certain number of things, certainly not killing someone. But maybe some booze or smoke or ladies. Doesn’t mean those things are ok but it is a process I assume. But the faster you get better the better for everyone else as well, cuz you did do the damage in the first place.

    AILD was my favorite band for so many years and I used to look up to Tim. Yeah we all make mistakes, but there’s a difference between Tim and someone like Randy Blythe. Randy got sober, made things right with those close to him, and changed his behavior. Tim tried to have his wife killed, the mother of his children. He ruined relationships with those close to him, and from what Nick said, some of his behaviors never changed. What Tim did was more than just a mistake. He made conscious decisions and the cost was great to more people than just him. Jordan and Nick leaving the band says A LOT and their character has never come into question. I’ll personally never go see the band again live and I‘ll never care about any of the new music.

    • @blacksunshine9995
      @blacksunshine9995 2 месяца назад +8

      But you'll care to make a comment about how bad he still is every chance you get huh? What Tim did was absolutely disgusting and vile and shameful. But you have to remember that Tim was heavily on steroids and that affected his thoughts and emotions. If Randy gets a pass for being a drunk constantly (which also affects emotions and thoughts and turns you into a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT PERSON) then why can't Tim at least get some of the free pass you give to Randy? Randy made a conscious decision to be a drunk and popping pills for years and hurt the people around him too. Tim got clean, changed his life, and came out of this a better man than he was before. Oh one of his bandmates that already didn't like him and was looking for a reason to justify his exit said his 'behavior' didn't change? That's because the road to recovery and mending fences doesn't change overnight. Tim was having to rewire himself after the steroids and the guilt he RIGHTFULLY was feeling. He wasn't going to walk out of that cell and do a 180 and be a brand new Tim. And honestly, I'm so sick of hearing about how his bandmates feel about this, as if he was going to send the hitman towards them next. What Tim did was only against one person, him ex wife. Not his bandmates crying and trying to paint themselves as victims too. It's kinda funny how this band started off as a Christian band, yet the concept of forgiveness and accepting your guilt and your punishment and seeking redemption is completely alien to them. Does Tim deserve to be forgiven? That's not up to me, only the one who he actually tried to hurt can decide that. But he certainly doesn't deserve the endless hate from people that he never harmed.

      Have you ever been in a situation with a woman who was bleeding you dry of your resources. A woman who was taking away your children and not allowing you to see them or have visitation. A woman who was legitimately trying to destroy your life. I have. And trust me. I may not have gone through with it. But I definitely thought about and considered doing what Tim did. And the justice system doesn't help matters much. Men go through the meat grinder when it comes to divorce and family court. There is nothing fair about that whole shit show. So I understand.
      We don't know what that man went through with that woman to do what he did. But I can atleast understand some of the feelings that were going through his mind. Being someone who has been through and survived the family court meat grinder. I don't don't know the full story of what happened. Don't know Tim's side of what was going on that time. But I think I have a pretty good idea. And if it is what I think it is. I understand. And I can forgive. He made a mistake. He paid for it. People should let it go. I'm glad that an actual murder didn't take place. But you can't tell me that there isn't men out there who haven't at least thought about or considered having the same thing done to one of their ex's.

    There is way too much black and white thinking about this subject. There is so much in between. Instead we just resort to “he tried to kill his wife and he will forever be that.” If that’s your opinion on this subject, you’re a part of a much larger problem which is that you are contributing to the narrative of this country that people are incapable of rehabilitation. How can people rehabilitate if society has already determined that’s not possible? You can disavow what he did and believe that he’s capable of rehabilitation. @@bobbyincidemetal I understand where you’re coming from. In my experience, I have personally seen several individuals who have served hard time and changed completely forever as a result. I’m talking about hard time. Real prison time. Doesn’t matter how heinous the crime; that’s what judges are there for- to determine an appropriate sentence for each case, each individual. It would occur to me that this individual has served his time as the judicial system set upon him. What is he supposed to do? Rot in purgatory?

    People make mistakes and this man sure did but, he served his time, doesn’t deny his actions and takes responsibility and accountability for his actions. At this point it’s beating a dead horse. Everyone deserves forgiveness and redemption. Everyone deserves second chances. You still have a fan in me regardless. Great music is great music!

      @@darksydeflow Yes and it’s very, very wrong and I do not condone that type of behavior or violence. It’s evil and wrong. I just don’t understand why this has to continue to be a topic was my point. I do still like the music. I have to say though, anytime I hear the band name, or listen to the music I think of this exact subject. The name, music, and everything else it’s connected to will always have a horrible thing attached to it. I think he’s sorry for what he’s done, I think he has learned his lesson but, who am I? I am certainly not in a place or position to judge the man. I don’t know him personally either. So it’s simply not my place to hate him. I will however say again, what he did was not okay. It was evil. I think he knows and understands this. I just don’t know why it has to be a topic of discussion. If it’s his way of healing or moving on from it maybe it’s better kept with his therapist and maybe not something to keep in the mainstream as a topic of conversation. Idk… I am just me, and my opinions are mine and everyone has one.

He would go about life getting sympathy from everyone around him, and no one would know the truth. That's crazy
