    Hi, after you switch to outline view, you said you just press A to be able to move the center? I pressed A but it doesnt drag/move the center, i just end up selecting the whole image to move around. I am using a mac.

    Hello, I am struggling with the last part where you distort the starburst. When I select the center, it is only selecting one slice. How can I select all of them?

      @IlliTutorials  3 года назад +2

      I had a think about this, if you're not in outline view (ctrl/cmd+y) and your shape has a fill, then you will only select one. You either have to be in outline view to select them all, or you can make all the shapes have no fill then you can select them with the direct select key.

      @@IlliTutorials the problem is that the anchor point is not moving in isolation - every move of the center anchor causes the whole shape to move along with it - there isn't a warping effect because the whole shape moves along with the anchor. the view mode (outline versus fill) has nothing to do with the issue aside from making things easier to see in this context.

      Here is the best solution I have found, for this problem: use the Lasso tool (Q) & draw a circle around the center of your spiral OR with the direct selection tool draw a box around the center of your spiral. This will allow you to move the center anchor point independently, without conforming the move to the whole object.

    Thank you so much for this! I'm having trouble selecting the center, when I do so and move it the entire starbust deforms so badly :(

      I can only suggest to zoom in as much as you can, and press ctrl-y to see the outline view. Otherwise, try to adjust the number of segments or the position of the circle.

      Left click at the top of the object to change the centre point so when you rotate it goes around that one. I had the same problem. My centre point was in the middle of my shape and it didn't rotate around the tip

      Make sure you press r (for the rotation tool) then press down and hold the alt key, and click once at the tip of the triangle. If that doesn't work for you, press r and click on the triangle tip and then double click on the rotation tool icon and the screen will pop up then.

    What is control why? You say that in 2:15 or something. I don’t get it?

    • @IlliTutorials
      @IlliTutorials  3 года назад

      Control y is when you press the control key (Ctrl) or the Cmd key on a Mac and the letter y. It brings you into an outline mode. You can press ctrl + y to get out of that mode.
