When will it be done? Been waiting
When will the winner be announced
The price of these vehicles, is absolutely, ridiculous. We Americans have been manipulated to believe that car/truck/SUV pricing, is somehow acceptable. It is NOT. If we lock-down and refuse to buy en mass, the dealerships will be piled-up with brand-new vehicles, and no sales. Until Americans band together, we'll continue to pay DOUBLE for every new vehicle, no matter the brand or style.
Ford practically can't give'em away now 😂
Rates have dealers sitting on full lots and they still won’t make a deal and try and add on with the dealer add ons.
It's the big 3's fault for paying their employees what they wanted
You're not wrong, but I want a new truck, and that's what they cost.
I agree with most especially reducing the number of trim levels. The red and white heritage brings back memories of my 1974 bronco
Hard agree on reducing the trim and options. It's awesome Ford wanted to launch a bunch of different trim options, with each one having it's own unique features, but it's both confusing to the consumer AND makes production more difficult. It's too many parts they need to source to make the customer's build. They need to reduce and streamline so more people can get their trucks. Customer's are STILL waiting from 2020. That's INSANE! Now they've added the Heritage. Bro!!! Focus on what you've got before you start adding more options.
@@hitleractually8180 I wish they would put their focus on V-8 and manual transmission just like my 1972 Bronco had.
Don’t forget putting air vents for the rear passengers in the center console, instead of just under the seats.
There in the center console for most cars…
Lol they can walk
This!
Who cares? The cabin is so small it doesn’t matter.
That’s what taking off the roof is for!
I appreciate the input. My only concern is when you start adding F-150 luxury truck features, Ford will inevitably make them part of a higher level trim package further aggravating the costs. It would be one thing if you could truly a le carte order these features but they always stuff them into a package that includes a few things you might want and few you don't need at all. We don't all make 400k/year Mitchell lol. Keep the Bronco affordable. A new F-150 is already ridiculously expensive.
Ya I wish the 12" screen was available on an Outer Banks, but it's locked to Lux. Literally the only thing I can't get.
Ford should also make a stripped down, truly basic trim level, with a 5/6 speed manual, crank windows, AC/Heat/Defroster, a regular key, and nothing that you don't really need when driving or off-roading.
I remember the days when all of the truck options were ala carte. The good old days. I look for new vehicles that are as mechanical as I can find, which is very hard now.
Exactly, something rugged that can live up to all of mother nature!
The snorkel is for water fording not desert. The Everglades comes with diff breather extensions as well.
The Everglades was meant to go slow and crawl through swamps. It’s in the name
An easy fix to the rear glass problem is to design a spare tire swing away set up like you have on the jeeps.
A/C seats would be a game changer! It's one of those things that once you have them, you always want them
Yep. I don’t understand why they don’t put them in here.
@@JohnDoe-nz6bk Bronco Sports should have them but not full-size broncos.... Cooled seats have holes in them to let the air flow, which probably would get fucked if you have the top off and the inside gets wet.
@@flappletun true
Cold seats? I can’t even imagine
Yeah they definitely need to change the glass so it like rolls down inside of the door like they did on the old '90s broncos or something so you can open the glass without opening the hatch. When I had my broncos sport Badlands I loved and used that just opening the glass parts so much.
Honestly, the one thing that I was praying to see in the release of the bronco, was the rear windows being able to roll down, like in the old bronco's and heck even in the 4runners. Back's of Car's don't have the best circulation, and my dogs go everywhere with me. so having a quick way to cool them down on a Hot Summer's day would be awesome. Also they slobber all over the window, so it'd help with that as well.
Got anything for that at TC Custom's???
Ford would have to reengineer the entire tailgate to support something like that. The Bronco is awful for rear ventilation, I never feel great about having my dogs in the back for that reason. It needs rear vents like a Jeep.
the rear quarter windows pop out
@@chrisbusch1970 I'll have to try that. just put on a soft top to solve it LOL
Air conditioned front seats, heated rear seats, and the back glass that requires you need to “fully” open the tailgate door are definitely improvements that could be made. But sure am loving my OBX!!! Thanks Mitchell Watts for another great video!!
- More luxury interior (option for leather and more color options)
- Power top like jeeps sky roof
- Independent rear suspension
- Remove under the seat rear AC and put on the center council
- Captain rear seats with more recline
- More cup holders
- V6 engine is standard across the trims
- Engine cover with bronco logo
- Hood shock struts
- Underbody protection for all trims
A swing away spare tire would allow the back glass to be opened before the tailgate, it would also allow for a drop style tailgate. A drop down tailgate with a hatch over your head is great in the rain. - The other option would be a roll down rear window like the 2nd-4th gens, which could keep the tire on a swing out tailgate.
Great video! Would like to see rear air vents as well to keep the people in the back warm/cool. Possible through the console/armrest in the front.
I love my OBX LUX, BUT I would have paid more to have AC and heated rear seats AND MEMORY SETTINGS for the driver’s seat!!! My husband’s F250 has all of it and it’s lovely!
As a two door fan, I love that you mentioned the snorkel and everglades. All of the special editions seem to be 4 door only and its quite sad. Ford, Please give us two door guys these options too!
Ford and Jeep ain’t putting money into two doors cause they’re focusing on the main consumers. Soccer moms, family vehicle, grocery getter etc. two doors are starting to become niche.
Rear seat AC vents in the center console
Thanks for informing us about after market steel bumpers impacting automatic cruise control which I do not want to give up.
Bonus #2 - adding memory seat options! I’ve taken my bronco to the dealership and gotten in and it takes what feels like forever to get my seat back to how I want it. 🙃
wouldn't that be difficult as you change the seats manually?
Oh my goodness guys! Why you so bougie? Just get a stick and turn your head to check your blind spot when you change lanes.
Spot-on! Offer Ala-carte skid plates, snorkel, bestop, a true brush guard option....
I am in the market now for a raptor. I was looking at all the other Broncos, I’m really glad I came across this video. I may wait until 2024 because I’d like to see them do the upgrades! You’ve got great points most of them.
I want a digital dash like the Raptor. Or at least the gear selector to show like it does on the pickups.
Great video and thank you for the information. Is there a final date to place an order for the 2023 Bronco before they delete all the orders?
I've had mine since January. My biggest gripes (and they are VERY small gripes) are:
1.) By far and away the most disappointed in the sound system and completely unacceptable for a $60K car. NO low end whatsoever and muddy highs. Just awful.
2.) The weird way heated seats interact with remote start. If I remote start with my key fob, both heated seats come on full blast. But if I start it with the FordPass app, the drivers seat comes on Low and the Passenger seat does not come on at all. You can only set the seats to Auto or Off. You can't just say set driver to low and passenger to high or something like that.
3.) The rear camera is basically useless if it rains.
4.) The triple honk if you get out with the vehicle running. My old car would auto-lock 8 seconds after the last door was closed, UNLESS you left your keys in the car, in which case it would do a double honk. This TOTALLY made sense to me, to prevent my keys getting locked in the car. But honking when you get out with the keys in your pocket makes no sense. I've NEVER left my vehicle running indefinitely. I'm exiting with the vehicle running on purpose. I don't need you honking at me about it.
5.) As others have mentioned, the soft top dripping right over the spot where you need to get in the car.
Jesus heated rear seats cooling seats cruise .., no wonder we are all paying 80000 on up for trucking 4 wheel drives .., my goodness cowboy up people … my first vehicle was 83 Silverado.., I would drive it everyday if I could buy it brand new today
I agree with all your points. One other suggestion is to have a rain drip guards over the doors to prevent rain from dripping into the vehicle. I know there are aftermarket options, but it should be standard from the factory.
AIG makes a rain Gutter.
Rain used to leak in all my windows on my 69 so this is just a nod towards the oldies.
Great call out on the ACC. So frustrating. Add in the fact that when I ordered my bronco the winch was an option and then when it came to final production it was no longer compatible but my dealer never told me and now I have a $3500 winch setup sitting on a shelf in my garage. Thanks Ford.
The absolute best critical summary of a bronco that I’ve seen. Not click baity, just real things that could be improved in the bronco. Well done sir
Everything he mentioned is definitely an annoying issue AND shows that Ford engineers aren't paying attention to the customers. I can't believe the rear glass can't be opened independently. That's just dumb.
As stated, you would have to choose between a spare tire and the ability to open the glass without the tailgate. Unless they had some sort of roll down glass that goes into the tailgate like the old 80s suvs. But I think ppl are just being nit picky and lazy at this point.
@@TriTownBronco : "But I think ppl are just being nit picky and lazy at this point." I agree. I'm sure the features mentioned in this video might be nice to have but it mainly sounds like a bunch of 1st world whining to me. People are so soft nowadays.
Thank you for shedding light on the problems with the Bronco.
Great video. Sound system feels like it should have been on the list. +1 on Air Con Seats
100% agree. I'm amazed that the sound system in my $60K Ford Bronco sounds worse than the one in my bottom dollar Ford fleet van I drive at work. I never in my wildest dreams would have guessed that the first "accessory" I would want to purchase is speakers, but here we are.
#1 complaint for states who get snow is the fact that the rear doors are flush with the rear fenders. Once there's a build up of snow/slush from driving and if it freezes, you cant open the rear doors.
There's no need for tape on the roll bar. The sign says push up, so that's what you need to do. I think people tend to push up and toward the front and that's where the scratches are happening. I don't have a single scratch after an entire summer of pulling the top off.
I think the steering problem should be a safety recall. Even if your not using the Bronco for extreme off roading. Say your wife is using it as a grocery getter and ricochets off a curb. If the tie rod end breaks she’s lost complete control. I know a lot of cars have weaker tie rod ends but they have a much lower center of gravity.
Manual trans on v6 would be nice. Also Ala cart budget base model. Have a few trim packages but every option available for the base
Great video and I also hope the engineering department and marketing department see and address the issues you discussed. I have a badlands with lux and totally agree. I live only 15 minutes from Townsend in Maryville, TN. and will see you there.
I am totally enjoying my 2022 Outer Banks mall crawler (do they still have malls?), but I gotta say, you killed it on this one.
Reducing those trim levels would be HUGE especially with some of the things you guys have mentioned with what comes with what package. Would make it so much easier and allow for more customization. Pro Power would be awesome along with an onboard air system, snorkel, and winch options from the factory so it's all covered under the one warranty.
I seen one with a snorkel the other day, I assumed it was a factory option but I can't find it anywhere.
@@Slay_No_More it was probably the Everglades, which comes with a stock snorkel
This is a bougie list…. They need to start with simple things like cup holders and rear a/c vents, who ever the engineer was that allowed that hopefully has no say in the next gen 🤦♂️
Very simple for your last request on the rear glass... just make it roll down. Take a look at Fisker Ocean ... similar to any window glass rolling down and up.
How about a soft top for a two-door Bronco?
I Was leery of this video - but as you present the options - I agree with what you pointed out !!!
All valid points. If they did these updates then the bronco would damn near be perfect..
This video isn't about hated things. It's about junk you want to change or add. I waited almost a year for my Black Diamond hard shell two-door. I hate so many things; the price, wind noise when wet, crappy radio, factory programming (computer), rough-shifting 10-speed auto, secret factory codes, rear seats completely useless for an adult, failure to remember driver settings, inability to change default startup options, etc. About all I really like is the ride, the short wheel base, the color, the style, and the air conditioning (so far). Hopefully, someone will make me an above-water offer one day.
I completely agree with everything mentioned. Wish that Bluecruise would also be included in the F150 Raptors too!👍🏻
This is a smart analysis.
Well done.
True, the adaptive cruise control sensor is blocked by custom winch front bumpers, but guess what else is? The front view camera of all things! BOTH the adaptive cruise control sensor and (more importantly) the front view camera need to be relocated. I also agree with your suggestion about having the snorkel as an OPTION rather than a part of any trim level. And if Ford ignores these points, they're going to pay in fewer Bronco sales.
As someone who has left the top open in the sunshine and then hopped in, yes please on AC seats. And yes please on steering up grades, folks are snapping those tie-rod ends at a feverish pace. A 302 V-8 would be amazing, they could make that the standard engine option in the heritage. Relocating the sensor would be great, I've bolted a small village to my front bumper already. Lastly, I definitely agree with the rear pillar protection, I used some large samsung tablet screen protectors, they're clear and sticky and easily swapped out when/if they get scratched up...mine are still clear though, so no issues yet.
Great job, brother! You are who i look to for Bronco advise! Thank you!
I like your points, but an increase in towing capacity would be great.
I would imagine Bluecruise is coming to the Raptor lineup soon based on the number of raptors we've spotted in Nor-Cal with what look like self driving cameras/sensors mounted on them
Where did you get the custom fenders?
I have said from day one I wish we could have a power rear window that drops down into the rear door. This would solve access issues, plus allow you to drive with the rear open and still have your hard top on. I'm sure this is an issue do to those with dual tops or only a soft top.
Only 1 item on this list is a thing you actually "hate" about your Bronco (the roll bar problem). The rest were things you'd like to add or changes to future options. And I wonder how much of that was a result of manufacturing during the chip shortage. Felt like a bit of a stretch to criticize the current model. Sure, I'd always love to see more tech, but you can't have everything on an off-road vehicle!
FORD Please listen carefully to this man !! He knows exactly what he is talking about, and he is absolutely right on all counts ❤️
A snorkel is put in place to allow a vehicle to ford through deep (usually up to about 60") water. The last thing you want when going into deep water, is for that water to get sucked into your air intake. Hence the snorkel is usually about roof height, or just slightly above. There is no way the snorkel is high enough to keep from breathing in sandy air if used when in the desert. The fact that it is pointed forward would make what you said even less so, as it would allow even more sand into the air intake, possibly clogging up your air filter. Some people would probably argue that it is a type of forced air intake, which in turn helps your engine, due to it facing forward like it does. Most of the snorkels I saw while in the Marines did not face a particular direction. It was merely a tube that came up and had a solid flat cap, with about 2" tall wire mesh between the cap and the tube, which made it look like a mushroom. We could ford up to 60" of water in our Humvees. I only got into water about 36", but it sure was fun!
literally my entire thought was here. Coming from desert racing and first hand experience of being behind someone in the desert the last thing you want is an open airway for dirt and silt to easily enter the engine. most of out air filters have a prefilter or a sock covering it to prevent as much dust and dirt as possible
The rear glass issue isn't going to change, and it shouldn't. Allowing the glass to open independently would require a striker on the glass as well as a handle to release it. If people are complaining about that then maybe they should be in a Bronco Sport.
I agree with your comments but I have a couple of things to add.
1. Make the rear window zip or fold on the soft top so that you can put bigger things into the rear. The prop rod idea is a complete failure.
2. On the soft top there is a low point right after the fiberglass piece on the front. It creates a perfect channel to pour water into your Bronco when it's raining on both sides and gets you soaking wet trying to get in and out of the vehicle. Horrible design.
I agree. 1. Lower the prices!!! 2. Fix the IFS and make em stronger as an option but standard on SAS. 3. Option out snorkel and winch. As soon as people put on 37s theres a litany of problems coming your way. It would be nice to have some sort of Ford guide for doing this right OR offer it as an option. I got the BaseSquatch and love it. Everything else is too pricey. Only rich people can get these.
great video, man. i like how you gave each of your critiques a reasoning or rationale. most vids don't and at that point, its just complaining b/c it is not constructive. thank you for using your outlet to try to get to ford. I was about to get a bronco raptor but TBH, not paying 135k (taxes and reg included) for any vehicle if it doesn't have AC ventilated seats for my big, hot back. now, I think maybe ford was worried people would off road and get dirt and debris in the ventilation of the seats? but after watching your video, i see i wouldn't even want a loaded wildtrak until they incorporate some of those options you mentioned. really appreciate you, your time and sharing your knowledge; very thoughtful. think i will look at a 2023 f250 limited or similar f-150 limited or raptor until bronco catches up with high end pricing. ugh, i miss my bronco already and i haven't event owned it yet lol
Great comments, that could only be made by an owner with experience behind the wheel. Great job!
Rear AC vents and better sound system would be cool... I have the upgraded sound on mine but it doesn't sound premium
That clear kick panel tape that Ford uses on their SUV's would work well on the roll bar.
The rear glass thing goes back to the old explorer problem. It would mean they add a latch and trim cover, that trim cover cracks no matter what they try. Its dangerous because the window breaks, there was a recall on the 2001 EB Explorer over them breaking.
I agree with the trim level idea, there’s too many! But everything else is just a good way to Jack the price up even more than what they are 😑
These all make a lot of sense. 👍🏼
The upgraded front differential or the ability to up grade it on the Base. My only real complaint since the sasquatch isn't an option at the moment.
They should have an air pump in the bronco as well. The rear seats should fold up behind the front seats for more room. And would love to see the top removable in pieces, so the sides come off individually from the roof and rear hatch. One person can remove . And you could leave the roof on and sides off
Great video. So many great suggestions and wish they wee at least options. I also agree with others on the towing capacity. Currently looking for a trailer but do feel a bit limited in comparison to other manufacturers. I love my 4dr badlands with sasquatch but my number 1 complaint are the rear left and right soft top windows and how they sag. I hate the way they look. Have considered switching to a Trek top but don't want to lose the space in the back as it's already limited.
Ford needs to put the luxury in luxury package. I have the 2 door Outer Banks with Lux package and there are no grab handles, No electric seats, no seat presets, no heated rear seats, no A/C seats, no rear seat A/C controls and a mediocre B&O Stereo. The engine bay looks like a high school project but that is another problem. A Luxury vehicle with a sticker over $60,000 should have most of these features. I still love my Bronco but disappointed at some of the shortcuts Ford is taking.
I do a lot of long road trips, and a hybrid would be great! Don't want purely electric as you never know if you can find a charge in the desert. The gas mileage is horrific :( Also, a little too much plastic that begins to rattle after going off-roading a few times. I'd expect it to be a little better quality in the cabin for the price. As for design, I absolutely love it. Nothing looks better than a Bronco, especially in Area 51 paint. Oh, and when you fold down the rear seats, make them level to the cargo area so someone can sleep in the back if you are on road trips. There is a weird like 2-3" rise where the seats fold down. You have to add some kind of padding to sleep back there.
Great suggestions all!!!
I think you missed one thing, the seatbelt shoulder harness height adjustment. I love it in my F-150 and the Bronco has a massive B pillar but yet you can not raise or lower the shoulder harness, drives me nuts.
There needs to be a 3.5L option. With bros running 37s, even with some of the stock wheel options, there's way too much rotating mass for a IL4
Amen on the model complexity point.
I totally agree with the snorkel as an option idea.
I agree with the ac cooled seats and the back glass they could make it retrack down like the order ones did.
Just bought a couple of little usb fans for my dogs and grand baby for the back seat of my 2 door bronco. There is no air circulation back there with the top on for sure. I hate the double honk on exiting cab with key. Love the ford pass app but had to give up the remote start since mine is manual trans. I really dislike the design of the back window as well. It would have been great to have a power window back there. Even though everyone talks about how light the rear portion of the top is, I find it pretty dang heavy however I do love my hardtop. Other than these small things it’s an amazing vehicle and I love it. The wait is finally over and the Ford Bronco is back.
I wish the rear glass was powered and could be lowered into the rear tailgate like the old school Broncos.
Great Mitchell, you are on the money 👍
Great video!!-I’m looking at these now-I really should wait 5 years before jumping and still have the Toyota TRD Pro Forerunner (Legendary Reliability) at the top of the list!
Great points; totally agree.
Hope to run into you guys at Super Cel East next month!
Should’ve named this video…1st world problems I have with the Bronco. 🤣
Exactly what I thought. Especially when it came to #11.
The 110v outlet would be great.
*Two years from after they add blue cruise*
“10 Things I Hate about my 2024 Bronco”
Mitchell: My blue cruise doesn’t work with my aftermarket bumper, ford needs to figure this out 😭 “
Square wheel arches, for sure! Upgraded steering components seem mandatory.
Do those adaptive cruise sensors detect motorcycles as easily as they do cars and trucks?
1. Cooled seats
2. Squared fenders
3. Adaptive cruise that actually stops the vehicle and doesn't shut off at 10mph
4. Put a glass rear window into the tailgate like old-school station wagons
5. roll bar stratch
As a owner of a Outter Banks SAS that is fully loaded I agree with you on everything minus a few of them.
Need to add handles to the roof as standard + AC openings to the back
Adding duel glove compartments would be nice too. I think the F-150 Raptor has it.
Yeah always wanted fighting glove compartments
What about the wavy soft top window?
Found out pricing online is not real. They added $5-$10 on the regular Broncos for shipping, docking and other fees at certain places.
I would really love a 2022.
You would think they would have eliminated trim levels when parts constraints got really bad!!
I have ac seats in my car and they are a summer game changer. So much more comfortable on those hot days.
How about automatic folding mirrors?
This is all excellent, a very smart list
Roll down rear window like my 94 had would be awesome
And #11 Ford, please add memory setting to the driver seats!!! My wife and I share our beloved Wildtrak and every time we alternate we have to adjust the seat.
Jesus Christ, I found the poster child for “wanting more than can be invented.”
Or maybe it is because my own weekend warrior is a factory 1997 2 door Tahoe that is smog exempt l, with 6.5 turbo diesel. I paid 4k for it 10 years ago.
My neighbor a few houses down as one of these broncos and he jogs around the neighborhood without a shirt on a rainy day. Yeah, pretty much tells me everything I need to know
