I would have verbally told him to get off his phone than record him and report him ppl are fucking snitches I’m not saying he is right but inform the driver first I would never ever put anybody job at risk like that
He's putting other people's lives in danger what's wrong with him he's not very smart at all doing this and also his own life is in jeopardy too if he would've had an accident.
That driver did something super dangerous. The X22 has been such a busy route, and there might have been tons of people on that bus. It was also dangerous because it was a rainy day as the bus operated along some busy roads, even outside of New York City, and the driver was texting while driving during the PM Rush Hour heading from Midtown Manhattan to Staten Island.
If i am the boss i will tell him pick your last paid check, you are fire bye.that i will do because he put hos life on the line and people life on tje line .
I wish these stinking useless devices had never been invented. It turned us all of us into mindless morons. It's so sad the way we all can't resist. Just like a baby's pacifier. God forbid we should put our devices down for a day.
The bus driver did wrong driver bus and text no good not at all.that is very danger he could got in to bad acciedent and kill his self and people on the bus.mta should fire him right away
Maybe MTA New York City Transit Headquarters should invest in the Samsara Driver Surveillance System.. It's a system that will expose high risk operators, more particularly those who rapid accelerate, those who speed, those who hard brake and those who use electronic devices while operating. Best way to say this: The TA will ultimately save money because Samsara will be a 24/7 Remote Observation!! I know Labor Relations will applaud the implementation of this surveillance system, especially since it will make discipline as easy as 1-2-3 because there will be photographic evidence at the time of occurrence that will lead to holding accountable those operators who commit unsafe acts.
That's False. MTA Kicked the courtesy Stop a long time ago after a Lady slipped getting off the bus and wanted to sue MTA for the negligence of the driver. If you demand to get off you can be charged with Harassing a Bus Operator as you are trying to force He/She to get off at a Non/Non designated Bus Stop.
I love these idiots! So much for the bus drivers are correct. I had a driver texting while driving like a nightmare. He couldn't drive properly yet refused to get off his phone. When I made a complaint I was told the police would have to come to my home to write up the complaint. I guess its best to carry a cell phone and record these fools since the bus cameras are to protect the mta. Our word against theirs.
Amy Clarke no I wouldn’t do the same. Why are you pulling out your phone to record him if you feel unsafe? That doesn’t make sense. I’d be saying get off the phone, not calmly pulling out my phone to record him smh
20 days no pay but when a cop kills an innocent person they get paid vacation 🤔
Fucking sick right? Then the whole department acts like it was an accident.
well that paid vacation may lead to prison though if prosecuted
Thanks for turning that in
He's probably a safety manager by now.
He should be out not, for next time, people could be killed, and you knew he had this problem! one strike...gone!
Lol 1 strike gone? Gtfoh little girl. 1993 veteran.
I 💯 agree with you Rebecca!! 💯
In the rain on the freeway? Should be fired. Made an example. smh
But yet you do it in your car
Everyone she'll get a ticket MTA or none MTA there's too many drivers that we have to be worrying about the" reckless driver's maniac!

I have one with police officers doing that while driving

If i was a bus driver, I..... DON'T.......... TEXT!!!!!!! IF I SEE ONE TEXT DRIVER, THEY'RE DONE!!! The MTA said it's against the entire law!

It's not the first time seen many
If you really nered to text or look at your phone, wait til you get to a light or have enough down time where you're not going to move the bus.
The number 1 rule when driving is to have your eyes on the road at all times.
The bus driver did wrong driver bus and text no good not at all.that is very danger he could got in to bad acciedent and kill his self and people on the bus.mta should fire him right away
Driver thought he was an entitled brother! Only they can get away with doing anything they please.
This MTA bus driver who texts on his phone should be fired.
Stfu

There was a similar incident with a New Jersey Transit bus driver years later or before I don’t remember.
This is how the system should work!
you should see how some of the port authority bus drivers doing the same
Dang this post is 6 yrs old
Best thing to do if you see this is request to get off at the next stop.
Uh yeah those express buses don't make many stops so you're probably getting off at the next stop anyway.
True. Or you can ask for a courtesy stop. But if you demand to get off, the driver has to let you off.

Whoever recorded this is a snitch and wants to get a hard working man fired. smh keep riding the bus person filming idiot
Passengers do a lot of stupid shit too. Anybody talking about that yet. 👀
