- Julian Alvarez and Jeremy Doku scored late on to ensure a thoroughly-deserved 3-1 victory at RB Leipzig.
Phil Foden opened the scoring on 25 minutes with a goal forged in the City Academy as he fired home a pinpoint Rico Lewis cross from the right.
Leipzig levelled, though, against the run of play, courtesy of Lois Openda’s clinical finish on 48 minutes.
World Cup winner Alvarez bent in an unstoppable curling shot on 84 minutes before Doku put the icing on the cake with a smart finish in stoppage time.

I'm from Belgium and a huge fan of City. Specially when I see De Bruyne playing and now Doku. Incredible players such as Alvarez. But damn what a goal from Foden he is to underated😢
I watched this game and I think it was wonderful..nice game from Alvarez and doku but don't forget haaland is a beast and this is the team he trashed 5-0
Not taking anything away for Haaland but he's not even close to Jeremy or Julian when it comes being a complete player we all can remember the way he scored those goals
Doku and Álvarez are more skilled. Yet when Haaland receives the ball prior to Doku’s goal he’s got his back to the goal -something T Henry wants to see more of-and 3 Leipzig players are closing in on him. He lays the ball off to Álvarez and he and Doku have acres of space. Hmm could it be bc Leipzig has overloaded Haaland’s side? And then despite playing the whole game unlike Doku and Álvarez Haaland has enough in the tank to just about reach the far post in case Doku’s shot pops out. They’re all great. No need to put some down to raise some others up

Great result for City and another wonderful performance by Phil Foden. Alvarez in top form and young Jeremy Docu and Rico Lewis are going to make it hard for more established players to get back in the side after injury. JD yet another great stroke of Pep ‘Gladallover’ genius 👍
Rico Lewis still needs to work on his physical strength so he'll get replaced by kdb after he comes back. Rico will most likely be a future star for city tho.

Grealish passed back 14 times and the 1 forward pass he made was offside. It was like there was no-one on our left flank.

For me, Julián is much better than Halaand by far since he not only scores goals but Golazos, gives more assists, moves more around the field to look for the ball and not just wait for it to come to him, dribbles well, has a good shot and gives good centers a class #10 and a complete forward, it's a shame that people are dazzled by halaand and all the hype of being a Viking, his interviews and by the supposed rivalry that they created with mbappe just for wanting to fill the void of CR7 and Messi that if not for that, he deserves to be top 3 nominated win the Ballon d'Or for winning the World Cup and Champions...
To sum up his class he really is the best Argentinean striker Messi has played with, barely miss important chances like aguero, higuain or lautauro and in short time build a great chemistry with messi at such a young age, plus my boy adapted quickly to premier league coming straight out of the argentinean league, adapted to Pep style of playing and Scaloni... truly and underrated super gem who brings a lot more then just being in box waiting to push the ball in, which it could be what winning games is about but not what football is about, the art of football
Actually it is better this way, because Haaland is the better target man and Alvarez playing as no 9 will become difficult in the absence of KDB
No need to decide who better. The both are City players and both are great.
I am glad some very few objective people are coming to terms with the truth. Haaland is a very average player. He can't pass well, dribble nor contribute meaningfully to the game except he gets an assist then miss few before scoring. Alvarez and Foden are way better even during the season Haaland scored more. The world will never get better when we watch ball wit sentiments and prejudice. Everyone will soon see how useless Haaland can be in modern day football where a striker can't double any role nor play flanks, SS, etc You can't even convert him to another role as he can't move ball nor pass accurately. Alvarez is a complete player just like Foden. They would come for me on how Haaland is so good. Correctly
@@유도마-v2rAs long as he feels he gets enough playtime this season. Even when KDB gets back. Because he was underused last season despite the huge impact he makes with the few mins he plays. If things dont change much this season don’t be surprised to see him leave for a team that has room for him in the starting 11.

Foden is quite swift in the box area, Alvarez scores and runs around the box to collect the ball, Doku does make an impact most of the time. Rico was good in the mid.
