    I'm a little late posting this and have somewhat missed the initial SoD rush, hehe. But in my journey to remember how the hell vanilla-era hunter pets worked and re-acclimate to Premiere Pro, I figured solving both by making a two-birds-one-stone video would be fun. A lot of the hunter resources I was finding weren't quite doing it for me, so hopefully this vid helps someone!

      You are definitely filling a void in the classic WoW content area! Keep pumping out awesome beginner-style content like this for hunters and any other classes you may enjoy and I guarantee your views will sky-rocket! I remember searching hours on RUclips trying my best to find videos on hunter rotation, best in slot gear, best in slot pets, what abilities to train my pet (bite or claw, you should DEFINITELY make a video over why using bite AND claw is a dps gain because I guarantee their isn’t a single video out there that explains it in detail!) I’ve always wanted someone to make good content over the class I love but nobody has stepped up to the plate! I believe you easily could

      @@Parzival.007 genuinely means a lot! glad i helped you with the claw/bite thing (it's pretty convoluted, and admittedly i'm sure there's nuance i'm missing because i just haven't used cat much in SOD so i'd need to do more testing/research before making a vid on it), but yes :) i plan on making more wow stuff, probably some rogue/warlock eventually!
      hunter's the main tho for now and it has a lot to go over, so we'll see what the timeline shakes out to be
      ty so much again!

    Wow, really great video. Always nice to see the Horde get what's coming to them in Ashenvale in those PvP clips-really informative video about pet design and training, too. PS: I think the wind serpent in this video deserves some more food, he really seemed to be carrying a lot of the weight. His gravitas and poise really shine through anytime he's on screen. Dashing, brave, handsome, I could go on. Great video.

    @specstreTV awesome video! I was hoping you’d go into detail about why people use BOTH claw and bite instead of using just Claw OR bite, I have always assumed that your pet trying to use two different abilities at 2 different focus costs would end up with the pet focus dumping too much and not using the other ability enough. Claw is less focus and less damage, bite is more focus more damage. So is there a benefit to using both? Or is using JUST claw or bite a bigger dps gain? REALLY hoping you can help solve this question because I have been wondering it for awhile now! You gained a subscriber, great SOD content so far!

    • @specstreTV

      hey hey! ok so, i've primarily been on WS and haven't done a ton of claw/bite testing myself, but from my understanding talking to other hunters + the consensus of the hunter discord, your instinct here is right, but the perspective is inverted
      it's less "too much" focus dumping and more "too little" that we're concerned about -- bite is very efficient for its focus-to-damage ratio and should ALWAYS be used, but it also has a cooldown (10 seconds). you can try it yourself on any mob: set only bite to toggle and let your cat rip, and you'll notice they VERY QUICKLY hit focus cap and sit there.
      this is a lot of potential damage sitting on the table, so we toggle claw to focus dump, since it's better cat dps than sitting at 100 focus and just autoing. however, if you're running KC rather than Flanking Strike, i know some hunters will toggle claw off to make sure it's BITE that the cat uses then, not claw, since bite works way better with KC. afterwards though, you toggle claw back on to fix the focus problem again
      hope that helps in any way, and appreciate the kind words :)

      @@specstreTV very interesting! I’m assuming with the beast mastery rune the increased focus regeneration is where I’m being mislead with thinking the pet will be using too much focus to cast bite on cooldown because it’s spamming claw. I will definitely have to go train the max rank of bite and let my cat go to town! Thanks for the reply, you cleared up a lot of confusion for me, thanks a ton! Keep up the good work

    Can you make a video on how to melee weave, is it important to have a slow versus a fast weapon in order to melee weave? Also, what is the significance of swing timers and auto shot bars? I've never played a hunter. I don't understand any of this. I just went BM and I'm still topping DPS charts in my raid but as far as I can tell I'm not doing any of the advanced tactics

    • @specstreTV
      @specstreTV  8 месяцев назад +1

      Definitely on my radar!
      For now, the TL;DR is that hunter’s melee and ranged auto attacks are on separate cooldowns in vanilla/classic, so the idea is to take advantage of that by hitting a melee attack (specifically Flanking Strike into Raptor Strike) while your ranged auto is on cooldown.
      A little bit of inefficiency (eg clipping your ranged auto by being slow to return to shooting range) is still a DPS gain, but big delays are a DPS loss over just straight auto shooting, so that’s why swing timers and range finders help keep it tight and controlled. Takes a lot of practice to get really “smooth” feeling.
      If you want a practice tip, go find the Rustling Bush we get (I think) Master Marksman off of. Unless you Hunter’s Mark it, it won’t react to any attack, so you can just practice melee weaving freely until some low level hunter comes along and needs it lol
      I will make a vid eventually, but hopefully that kind of clears the idea up!

    Great video. I want to know if i can level my without leveling myself? Im lvl 19 and want a better pet, but i dont want to change pvp brackets quite yet

    • @specstreTV
      @specstreTV  8 месяцев назад +1

      unfortunately that would be very tricky -- you could try farming green mobs to give yourself the minimum amount of exp, but your pet levels up based on exp you earn as the hunter (or exp you WOULD earn if you weren't level capped in the case of being 25/60/whatever), so it's going to be slow
      i think if you want to stay 19 you'll probably just have to suffer with your current pet or eventually go all the way to 25 for the current endgame pvp bracket

    Do u have to stable ur pet to tame another for claw/bite?rank 4

    • @specstreTV
      @specstreTV  8 месяцев назад +1

      yes, sadly - you can only have one active pet at a time in classic, so unless you want to abandon the pet you have out, you’ll have to stable it when you go out to tame a trainer pet!

    Its a great build for anyone that can't play the game and needs a pet to do the work for them. It's that idiot friendly that the only way anyone can enjoy SOD is to make one as you Q bg's or do world pvp and these scum hunter's are usually in packs sending pets in and running away. Anytime yopu try to fight someone they will send their pet in and get far far away to where they can't even attack but don't worry your pet will still kill everything. Hunter's will act like this is wrong and they need the pets to have this damage. Ok I will agree if we get rid of every ability use have except auto shot and even then I would say that use are still too strong. Hunter's only thing they can complain about is trying to keep pet happy which just shows how low IQ these hunters truly are as it is the most basic and easy thing in the game
